Morrigan 3.0 lvl up video thread

I’m not sure if anyone mentioned this but people are getting smart not to jump during an astral vision so going from sf.L xx flight xx air sf.H xx flight cancel is kinda pointless if the air sf.H isn’t even going to chip them. I recommend just staying on the ground and just spam sf.L, they’re most likely going to jump but characters that do not have any flight or ability to stay up in air longer are going to land and end up taking massive amounts of chip from sf.L. Against characters like Nova, Wesker, Firebrand, Ammy, Trish, etc. Switch from spamming sf.L and go into sf.H xx flight xx air sf.H xx flight cancel.

Apparently the tracking of the hidden missiles was improved so that helps also. It got slightly nerfed now that only 6 missiles rain but the supposedly track more effectively.

Hidden Missiles assist was always 6 missiles. Maybe the tracking works differently, but I haven’t noticed. That left/right side glitch with Vector Drain and Hidden Missiles still exists.

Yeah, I’ve been doing this for a while too. However, even if you do this you still have that empty space at the top of the screen in the middle you can’t cover unless you SJ Soul Fist. I also think it’s a good idea to use grounded Soul Fist M as well. It helps me out a lot when your opponent is getting nearer (soul fist M xx soul fist M).

Alright I’ll try that. Have you tried to tiger knee soul fist M? It seems like I get more soul fist M on close opponents when I tiger knee the soul fists.

Never even thought about it:O I’ll give it a shot.

Not sure if this has been posted yet. But it’s something that I think it good enough for the front page.

I agree, that video has something for everyone.

That video is very well done and easy to follow/understand. I certainly got a lot out of watching it, 30 mins well spent. Can’t wait for part 2!

Another batch of House of Crack matches:

1:46:30 = vs MarlinPie
3:37:00
5:23:25 = Huge amounts of matches with Bum

Great stuff Omni. Chris G may have be the most successful Morrigan player, but I think you are the best Morrigan. Hard to imagine myself being able to move around with Morrigan like you do, but I thought the same thing about Magneto when I first started and now I’m practically Fanatiq Jr. over here  Looking forward to it

Has anyone got a link to the most common soul fist loop bnb? I see alot of different variants on youtube and just want the easiest most effective one.

I have been taking notes of Chris G Morrigan, the best combos he use are:

CORNER
s.LMH, shadow blade L, flying, Soul fist H, unfly, land, Soul fist M, flying, soul fist H, unfly, land, jump, j.MMH, Soul Fist L, flying, dash down, j.H, soul Fist L, unfly, land, s.S, superjump, j.H, soul fist H, fly, j.S

MIDSCREEN
c.H, s.S, superjump, j.H, soul fist L, fly, dash down, j.H, soul fist L, unfly, land, j.M, j.M, j.H, soul fist L, dash down, j.H, soul fist L, land, walk forward, s.S, superjump, j.H, shadow blade M, fly, j.S

I think he used them both in this fight with Marlinpie

Here, Chris G uses Morrigan, Doom, and Gouki, and even though he made it this far, I saw a lot of mistakes with his Morrigan (and even more mistakes with his Doom, and Gouki to say the least). Needless to say, maybe Chris G could take a look over here, and see the technology that is available for Morrigan, besides Astral Vision/Spam Soul Fist.

Chris G can play Morrigan extremely well- combos, area control and natural smartness. He only uses AV because it’s the EASIEST way to win, and I’m sure that’s why he plays. When he thought MarlinPie- that exhibited his skill as a Morrigan player and absence of need of AV. A lot of mistakes= I’m sure that’s a given when you’re vsing one of the WORLD’s best players

No, it isn’t.
Most of the times when Chris won matches, he was relying on the Soul Fist chip damage to slowly eat away character health; as a result Chris’s wins required him to spam Soul Fist for most of the match, wasting 3 + meter on average; When Justin won matches he made quick work of Chris’s team with rush down. Morrigan can rush down, and quickly kill characters using one level, and an assist (just like Wolverine, Wesker, Dante, Vergil, etc.) It actually would have been easier for Chris G if he knew how to rush down with Morrigan…LMAO. If you truly think that Morrigan’s Astral Vision/Spam Soul Fist is the easiest strategy to win then you obviously did not watch the match, or you are not aware of Morrigan’s capability, which is bizarre since you are posting in a thread about Morrigan’s capabilities.

Sorry- it was silly of me to assert that it is. In my opinion, it’s the easiest way to win. And this is a general thing, not specifically to that match or any. You don’t need to deal with all the technology people use to mix you up because you’re playing ranged style. You kill people from the other side of the screen SLOWLY yes but you limit and strongly limit their chances of ToDing you. Morrigan without xfactor or without level three does not have one unless she’s dhcs or you’re vsing sentinel and land all of your missles on him with two ultras… unlikely. I watched the match. Justin Wong is just Justing Wong and that’s why Chris lost. Unless you’re scrutinizing every aspect of Chris’ gameplay, it’s unfair to say he didn’t good. He’s just didn’t do as great as Wong did

…and what is wrong with Killing them slowly while limiting their choices/chances of ToD. Why would you not use the best solution or whatever you feel is the safest and effective method? Why would you purposely save 3 bars just to touch of death someone, which would require you to be put in a situation of making yourself unsafe to risking a “ToD” What’s wrong with using stuff and “other players technology” you learned from other players. If you’re playing to win, why would you purposely choose to put yourself at risk, If they’re having a problem dealing with the fireballs then why stop? that’s they’re fault they can’t deal with it, its not like its impossible to get around it, its a strong plan but like anything it can be beaten. Its perfectly legit, wether you or anyone else likes it, tbh I think its good change of pace, instead of majority of the players Rushing each other down, theres Zoning and Projectile game, its in every fighting game.
Honestly out of all the like bullshit that goes on in marvel why is this strategy the one to be singled out?

Is this a hate comment towards me? haha, sorry I’m really noob to forums so I still am quite bad at interpreting voices lol! Whether it is or wasn’t, my play style is keep away with Morrigan on point and Storm 2nd and Trish anchor. I’m a lame style player keepaway buuuut! In my defence, it’s flawed simply because missles aren’t there hahaha. I like this style because my exp is still very early and marvel in general is forever growing with technology so it’d be impossible for me to current with all these new mixups and shizz. I have a solo two bar tod for Vergil though  does 900k if mashed… but sooo hard :’(

Nah, its not a hate comment, but its like you’re shutting down certain game plans and decisions based on what you would/wouldn’t do regardless of the situation. Just because you don’t have missles don’t mean you can’t play zoning/spam game tbh.
