Can you enable the setting that makes the first post of a thread visible on any page of a thread?

Damn, man fall back. We have mods doing their jobs. I mean really, what is pming you going to do to help? If Wiz gives you the title that’s cool. Anything to help keep this place clean is cool, but why would you have him PM you instead of Ronin, or Koop, or Sept, or Dios or any of the other mods responsible?
The rules specifically say to PM a mod and ask them when something gets closed or deleted and you want to know why. How are you supposed to know why it was closed if you don’t know who did it and the answer isn’t clear? You’re trying too hard. This isn’t a flame so don’t take it as one.
I think that a large problem with some people complaining is they don’t realize they have a stigma. Some people get away with things because they’ve proven themselves to be responsible. Once you have a reputation for causing problems it stays with you. It’s as simple as that. Rsigley types and thread trolls are basically on parole. If you intentionally push the system you can’t get angry when you get reprimanded.
am I smoking or has the Edit post feature disappeared?
Indeed it is not there, until now weird.
Some of my posts have it some dont.
ahh everyone on irc didn’t have the problem but I did couldn’t find it anywhere. seems now that its reapeared but I can only edit recent posts
truth. this is why some ppl get away with blatant trolling and others get their thread locked before they can even look in it again. i kinda figured that, i just thought that with the new rules/system/whatever that they didn’t tell ppl about, they just sorta put on us, that everybody would be equal.
plz don’t respond to this with 8 paragraphs and some other stuff (not talking to warlock). even if no one admits it, ppl can tell there is favortism here. i’m not trying to argue/debate about it either. thats just how things are. and no, i still don’t want to list examples. i personally hate when ppl are trying to make a point and bring my name into shit, so i don’t want to do that to someone else.
i have infractions for my threads so i’m not on parole
i get in trouble but i’m here to entertain and i’ll take my lumps as a result
Can anyone else chime in if they’ve had problems with the wiki? Wiki hasnt worked at all for me in quite a while. Best feature of SRK in a while, and it just doesnt seem stable.
what do infractions do? i got 2 points for saying ruby heart sucks but i didnt notice a difference in what i can and cant do.
I don’t know how much I should/want to say about infractions, so I’ll just say that they help us keep track of troublemakers. Different rule violations are worth different point values, and we can’t retract them once we give them out (although we can give you 0 points and only a warning). Points expire over time, so just try not to accrue too many (it’s not hard; just don’t be an idiot).
That said, most of us probably don’t even give out as many infractions as we could/should, so don’t worry too much about it.
i think i’ve posted it before but it would improve the forum’s usability a lot if you moved the logo + ads to the right side
go premium and they magically disappear!
…That avatar is fucking legendary, Wiz.
I dont know where else to post this but Wiz that avatar is TOO MUCH.
This is the third time my subscribed threads were erased (without my knowledge/acknowledgement). Somehow vBulletin doesn’t support Firefox?
I have a suggestion: Set ‘I’m new here’ threads against the rules.
The only thing that results from these threads is the thread starter getting a bad impression here and maybe about the fighting game community in general, as nothing happens in those threads but flames. Nothing is interesting about the words Fuck or Dick. These threads are just garbage cluttering the forums, unless you mods enjoy reading people flame newbs.
Here is a perfect example.

no im just gonna start infracting people who flame and cuss out the new people.
Or just make a sticky Introduction thread.
When it comes to enforcing rules there should never be a grey area or atleast the grey area should be avoided at all costs if possible. When i say “grey area” i mean things such as subjective opinion, and personal feelings(i.e. cause someone is premium, or cause someone did something for you, or because they’re your friends).
Because there are set objective rules.
Not to say that there aren’t loop holes, but rules should be enforced objectively and in black & white.
If 5 ppl are breakin a rule, dont just punish 3 of them. Either punish all 5 or none at all.
If only some people are selected for punishment while others get away in the same forum section or thread commiting the same offense(no matter how minute, slight, blatant, purposely, etc. in comparison to another), then that shows POOR moderating skills and terrible enforcing of rules.
Inconsistent. You either be laid back and let things slide, or you be strict and enforce everything to the fullest. Doesnt matter, as long as it’s one way or the other and consistent… not inconsistent and random based on how you felt today or something.
Random moderating is f***ing bulls***t.
This site is like a random dictatorship filled with Good Ole Boys.
I would hope that all the moderators of the site enforce the rules and regulations without prejudice. I can’t speak for any of them because I don’t really know how they operate. I personally don’t know 99% of the GD crew. I dont have time to meet and greet with the whole site. All I can base decisions on is the proof that is sitting in front of me. I hardly do any moderating, because im not a moderator, thats why we get people to moderate for the site.
Earlier this morning, someone posted in the moderator forum that welcome threads should be banned. This person linked the thread in question that he was showing as an example of, and I clicked the link. I read the thread from top to bottom, and saw there were quite a few rule violations in there, and decided to infraction people for breaking those rules.
Yes.
No threads/avatars/profiles may be created to attack other members/mods/admins or groups of people. If you have a problem with someone don’t post about it first, take it up with them via PM or speak to a mod about it.
Do not harass other members.
Those are a few segements of the rules that are listed on the site for at least 2+ years.
After reading the thread, I infractioned 4 people total in that thread. These were the people I felt broke the rules. I also saw that Krasshole (Exmatt) had an inappropriate avatar and I infractioned him for that and removed the avatar. I did not now or then know anyone in the thread on a personal level.
I spoke with RoninChaos just after I infractioned the thread, and he defended Slide by saying “he has never been a problem”, “his post history is solid”,“he has been to my house”. I quickly replied to him, " im the only person on the site that doesnt go by post history".
Ive banned premium members without hesitation. Ive banned DSP when he was a premium member for posting porn. Ive banned mutiple other premium members without warning for breaking the rules. Ive banned scan from irc on srk(who i knew for 5 years) for breaking the rules. It doesnt matter to me, you break the rules, you got to go.
You can cry all you want that the mods are selective and do specialized moderating. Take it up with them. Im not a moderator, and dont mistake me for one. But if a thread is called to my attention, and I see rules being broken, dont come crying that you got punished for breaking the rules. It does you no good.
BTW Slide, your signature is too long and violates the following rule:
Please change your signature to comply with the rule, or I will have to suspend your account.
Have a nice day.
