I happened to see a couple people post complaints about problems joining rooms, I’ve been having this problem ever since SSF4 came out. For whatever reason certain people I cannot connect to and play with (Wes it seems like you’re one of these people). For instance I will try to join endless battles but it will not work while that certain person is in the room. If he leaves I can join just fine. Then he tries to rejoin but he can’t until I leave. It seems like 1 out of 10 people I just cannot connect with whatsoever. Soooooo frustrating. 1 out of 10 may not sound like a lot but when you join an endless battle with 8 people in it the odds are not in your favor. I thought it might be my NAT type but it’s only on moderate. Tried to get it to open and couldn’t figure it out. Fucking lame…

Welcome Dara. Izzy pretty much gave the low down, but I look forward to meeting you if you decide to stop by sometime.
My guess is that the people who are giving us the trouble are the ones with a bad NAT type. On PSN, there are 3 classifications, which are essentially 1 - Good, 2 - OK, and 3 - Bad. I’m guessing XBL has something similar. I’d think that if you’re having trouble connecting with Wes that he might have a Bad connection type - likewise with anyone who essentially “blocks” you from entering a room.
Whenever you’re trying to connect to someone, it boils down to the weakest link. So if one person can’t connect to you, then it says that you can’t enter the room. I’d be interested to see if there is any technical explanation to how the requests work for SSF4 with regard to the different NAT types. Royce, you seem to know networking stuff. Do you have any thoughts on this?
Does anyone here know how to solder? I need to replace the buttons on my T5 Hori and don’t know how to do it myself. I could give it a whirl, but I’m sure that it wouldn’t end well without a headache.
Fun tournament tonight, was almost able to bye myself into the money. Good times.
