Milwaukee: Too grimey for the rest of WI

Nobody play dark souls. That game is like smoking meth. You feel shitty when you aren’t playing it then as soon as you get home, you turn it on just so it can make you feel shitty again. Fuck that game.
1 more thing. I can’t believe I gotta say this, but please, shower before heading out to Jerry’s today.

yeah we were pretty much even last night. Going back and forth. GGs.

Yes if people aren’t good at or don’t want to learn 3s in Madison it’s more or less pointless, I really can’t bring myself to care enough about AE or MvC3 (though I probably should pick one and learn it). 3s is that damn good and addictive to me, so deep, I cant pry myself away from it, and I’ve played since 03. LOL

I’m going to have a pot bonus for 3rd strike next year so not many people attend, hopefully people will come by.

I just wanted to make sure the venue was good, as well the food/drinks

LMAO are you hammered? I can picture you saying this in your non-midwestern accent

UMVC3 NEW HYPER: umvc3 is broken 900k full screen grab, unblockable. and yeah, it build 7 meters

Posting here on Tuesday nights is the saddest shit ever.

i know what you mean. i was going to go over to the gathering tonight but then ate a pizza and got really lazy. i’m hoping to head over there next week though it’s the last week of the term so i guess it all depends on whether or not i’m all caught up on stuff. all i really wanted to do tonight was play some marvel :c

Everyone watch out for baby dp and baby flash chop at Romine’s this month. They’re gonna be so pringles!

[quote=THIS. The industry is stagnant and lacks innovation and imagination. When they start making games like Chrono Trigger, Yoshi’s Island, etc again and REALLY coming up with some unique ideas I’ll be happy again.[/quote]

It’s always going to be like this from here on out. Gaming has evolved to the point where it is a largely popular electronic media. Which means its going to be like every other art form from here on out, loads of shit with a few gems in between. Music, movies, and all forms of art are the same way.

So from here on out you’re gonna have to weed out the good from the bad, using a combination of listening to reviewers you trust, already being familiar with the dev teams work, and your best judgement. You would do the same if Michael Bay was coming out with another movie or if a new music artist was entering the scene.

What other side tourneys do people want at Salty Sunday? I’m thinking $2 will be the reg fee for all the side tourneys. I’d like to see Garou,KOF2K2,NBA Jam and maybe Catherine lol.

If Dan shows up 2K2.

Daaaaaytoooonaaaa!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot.
Congrats to Jerry on finding his life coach.

If Romines has any challenges like the big rig we could do a side tourney for that.

Sooooo many games this month. KOF13 and Tekken Hybrid paid in full. Can’t wait for that sweet 4 disc pre order bonus with KOF13.

I need to learn to start Orr ordering things. Just need to find the Gamestop here that isn’t full of Hulkster rip offs.

lol

I just sold my copy of mvc3, which makes me wonder, did any of you sell your copy of street fighter when super street fighter came out??? I’m just curious.

Nah, I never sell my copies of things. Mostly because I usually get the Collector’s Edition and selling it just seems like a waste.

Major update on the tournament I’m running on the 12th, we just added MK9 as a last minute addition to the main event of games. Over a week away before we kick it off!

That is pretty cool.

Poster is amazing, what enthusiasm, I can’t wait.

If you’re thinking of doing a puzzle game, do Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo. Imo best puzzler ever made. Also, I will def sign up for Garou, KOF and NBA Jam (TE??) if run.

Yes, you must be discerning, I agree. If a game is good it’s good regardless of when it was made. I played Xenoblade (WII) recently, on an emu, and it’s simply the best jRPG made in the at least the last 7 years… I guess my problem is that with gaming becoming mass media it’s becoming MORE like music, which tries to appeal to the lowest common denominator, and the youth crowd in general. Everyone take this with a grain of salt, yes it’s apples and oranges, no I’m not a musician, but I can see the relation you’re making. Just like the two largest genres in music with youth are probably rock and rap, now the two biggest genres in gaming are FPS/shooters and probably sports games. So, older genres go by the wayside, generally forgotten (like with some music, does any kid nowadays REALLY like 1930s big band music? etc), and the same production values aren’t applied to the smaller genres. I just wish genres like turn based strategy RPGs got the same production and talent applied to them like FPS games do. That’ll never happen though. Luckily some of the better, older SRPGs that never came here in the late 90s are getting really well done fan translations lately (Shining Force III parts 1, 2, 3).

Finally,

I bought a ps3 solely for vanilla SF4 and Blazblue and I sold the ps3 and both games to build my computer.
