Million Knights Vermillion

Looks like KoF XII’s early HUD has got competition in terms of blandness. I’m sure they’ll fix that up later on.

Still, I’m one of those who enjoyed the original Big Bang Beat (never did bother with the patches), so hopefully MKV delivers.

Its like their testers were all tattoo artists.
The effects for what I’ve seen are nice though.

So what is exactly the “Vermillion Button”?

I sux at Kanjis but the kanas are very easy to understand: The only two things that i can read are “Soul Gauge” and “Dynamite Guard”, hmm… this one sounds like a Parry.

actually, it’s soul cage, which seems to be something similar to a dust (aka overhead, allows you to combo after)

down+vermillion while on the ground is like a tech

dynamite guard just seems to add pushblock? i can’t really read that much

revenge lock is either a burst, or something more like a roman cancel during your own moves…

i realize how most of this post was useless lol

need to get dat kanji dic out

New trailer, with like 25 seconds of gameplay at the end.

Thanks. That was a bit roundabout though ^_^, its a youtube upload of the trailer you can DL from their site: http://m-k-v.jp/download/images/demo01.zip

Edit: It looks like shit
Edit: Next update on 27th March

That song is so awesome.

Anyway, yeah it looked a bit awkward animation-wise… Especially the glasses guy
But some looked really good. Like the trap, the eyepatch and the big-breast girl. :woot:

The eyepatch? Otto or Yuri? I thought both looked horrible. Best ones were probably Virginia, Smile and… Folo. So I agree with two of yours!

Silvio looks incredibly bad. Also, the hitsparks are way too fucking big and some of those static backgrounds are ass (sewers esp.)

That’s what I was thinking too, but then I thought, wait, this is doujin.

I still have interest in the game, but man those graphics look shit for HD.

I meant the goth girl who does the giant sword spin or something at the end. I thought the little we saw of her looked ok.

So bad about Silvio, I liked him.
Well, we’ll se how it turns out.

That’s what I was thinking, then I thought:

-These guys made Big Bang Beat, which looked great.
-There’s obviously a lot of money involved in this project.

Didn’t they mention that the sprites were animated by some studio who worked on an episode of Gurren Lagann?

Which is kind of surprising, seeing as to how BBB seems a lot more smoother than MKV.

Damn…that’s sad to hear. I guess they can’t get their shit straight. : *(

That footage is not particularly exciting.
Damn.

It looks fine to me. I personally didn’t really have any issues with it. We’ll see how it turns out, I’m still a bit hype for it, heh…

Yuri <3

I can’t tell for sure because of the video compression, but it looks like they’re not using pixel art for the character animation.

They’re not, it’s hi-res art.

Excited to play this game, but it looks really ugly. : - (

Regardless of how high res the sprites are, unless MKV is vector animated (which I am positive it is isn’t), they’re still composed of pixels .

I’m also a bit disappointed to see that this doesn’t look as well animated as BBB…

You miss the point. Pixel art isn’t pixel art because its made of pixels. Pixel art is pixel art because it is painted on a pixel per pixel basis, not using tools to create anti-aliased lines and fills in programs like Photoshop. This is what the animations in this game appear to be composed of.

Pixel art is what most traditional 2D fighters use because its the only way to make the animations look consistent at lower resolutions, plus it saves alot on memory usage because of the small color palette.

Not to diverge too much. I’ll conclude the game may be a bit heavy on RAM usage.
