I think TF3 is a move in the proper direction. Since “The Beef” is out, I hope it is a more militarized focus.
There would be some sort of plot twist . . . .
Then, the US Military will recruit them . . .
they should go with Unicron vs. Rodimus as Michael Bay had mentioned prior to DOTM that they had plans to integrate such plot into the movie but had to cut it out. still waiting for the billion dollars to roll in as the ILM effects to render Unicron were TOO expensive at the time…

I will never understand why fans always want the story to move from Prime to Hot Rod/Unicron where there are so many options to consider. As if the history is required to repeat itself. So fans, why Unicron all the time? What can you do with a planet sized threat other than go inside and blow it up again? The comic books are ripe with stories, a movie featuring the Wreckers would be pretty cool. But with Bay at the wheel, a lot of things that seem pretty cool will get ruined in a hurry.
I just hope they explain what happened to Cybertron when it got sucked back into the space bridge. Seriously, did Prime destroy his planet or what?
I am with you on this. The 86 movie was good in its own rite, but no use redoing a story we all know so well. Also, let’s be real Optimus =/= Rodimus. Prime is the vehicle for the franchise. Rodimus may get introduced, but I don’t think we will get the upgrade story line. The comic stuff out now is pretty serious. They should tap into some of the.elements presented there.

I’ll be honest the 3rd movie story wise was coherent enough to follow. Rodimus as a character is aight but i don’t know. I mean it would be nice to include him but he was never really anything special other than that guy that got Optimus killed in the 86 movie.

smh for Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime… just kidding. it’s kind of unfortunate that the character did not live up to the expectations of replacing Optimus as THAT was the original intention when they made the movie.
the G1 Rodimus was a really decent character design and had a badass vehicle mode but as i understand, Hasbro caved in to the negative backlash for having killed off Optimus Prime [they mentioned this on the commentary of The Transformers: The Movie 20th Anniversary Edition] in one of the most memorable scenes in animated history. they brought back Optimus in the following seasons of the TV series somehow [initially a zombie transformer!!!] and they had to relegate Rodimus to a supporting role soon after.

I mean how deep can a 3 hour movie be about intergalactic Super-Robots be? It’s just for pure entertainment, if I recall correctly the show had a sub-par plot as well with the “Villain of the week” formula that the movie is using.
