OK, movie was great for a **fucking micheal bay **movie, and that should tell you that.
It had the same cliche bullshit.
It’s not 1998 any more you filthy cum bucket. This isn’t armagedon but with fucking transformers is what it is. Dad is some redneck asshole, and he stumbles on the mission of his life. Seriously Bay, why? The dissaproving father who’s a “badass”, the hot daughter that isn’t allowed to date, and the akward boyfriend who you don’t like, but ends up loving him and tells him you take care of her. Seriously bitch
Then there’s the typical shots. I don’t know why micheal bay has such a hard on for slowdowns. It’s like he’s still stuck in 1998 and computers made slow mo a reality, secondly…Why in the fuck do you have so many shots where you see the front of the characters. Holy shit, if one thing defines Micheal bay, it’s these type of shots
it’s not explosions, or slow downs, this is Micheal Bay’s ultimate and final M.O. If this motherfucker ever became a serial killer and left edited tapes of his escapades, this is how he’d get caught.
I do like that they tried and focused more on the transformers, kinda had to when they where the enemy. But it still wasn’t enough. There was still too many “human moments” involving humans. He also needs to stop with the lame jokes…and we don’t know shit about the dynobots. we didn’t even see them fight what could possibly be the http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Quintesson.
Unicron is much to big for this, and these are much easier to do. It also make sense of the organic hand you say in the beginning.
was this movie worth admission price? Fack no
didn’t matter, I saw it for 6 bucks so it’s not bad for 6$.
Too bad their will not be an “Editor’s Cut” of this movie. If there is one thing about this movie, it’s the length. I really wonder what happened to the rumor of a 2h 7min run time. I hope a takeaway for the production team is that for movie length, bigger IS NOT better
"Human! Pick up that metal football that is very heavy for you but not at all for me and take it to Area A while I fight off these mooks! After I kill about 40 of them I’ll be waiting at Area A instead of saving you the time by picking up the football myself. Once you reach Area A… take the football to Area B!
I’d argue that the next movie should be entirely in space and cgi driven. We don’t need humans to make a good Transformers story. That’s the biggest problem with MB is that he doesn’t respect the source material enough. All the characters and stories are just metaphors for the human condition. If you can’t write a good story through humanoid robots fighting over power and resources you can’t write at all.
Yeah, that.
The key thing with TF is that the driving aspect of human-Cybertronian relations is that them and us are not that different in the grand scheme of things.
We aren’t the same; which is what Bay has been doing(TF chars with cut-and-paste personalities), and why a lot of his stuff feels forced.
The 'Bots and 'Cons should be understandable as characters, not substitutes for other humans, if you know what I’m getting at.
Serious question: Have the Transformers ever communicated with eachother in vehicle mode?
Just thinking about it and besides Bumblebee’s radio antics I can’t think of any scene in any movie.
Edit: A friend reminded me that in the first film the deceptions did talk to eachother in cybertronian. But that’s all he remembers. I’m just thinking about all the missed opportunities to have the transformers talk while in vehicle mode as they shuttles humans around or while they just sit back and plan. Could have saved time and money and wouldn’t at all been out of the ordinary. Could have given more time for plot and character development. Travel scenes get used a lot in movies for that very purpose.
This movie was actually really solid, probably my favorite out of all of them so far. A lot more action this time around and less shaky cam with more wide open shots. Also more bots this time around. That Ratchet scene was one of the highlights of the movie for me. Muthafuckin LOCKDOWN was ridiculously awesome, that guy had straight up presence especially that scene when he first shows himself against Prime. The Dinobots were HUGE and i enjoyed watching them mowing shit down along their path.
Although this movie did had its share of problems. It couldve been shorter i felt it was a tad bit too long and needs better editing. Wish Decepticons were used better and I noticed there werent any notable ones except for Galvatron, the rest were just fodder. Some of the effects were kinda dodgy, did they have a new sfx team?
The movie made my thirst for the deluxe Lockdown figure even stronger.
Completely agree with Bob in that last vid, as I’ve always said, Michael Bay is a genius of sorts, he knows how to create a billion dollar franchise out of garbage, and people keep coming for more and more.
Holy shit.
The quality of writing took leaps and bounds.
Yes, editing would’ve been a godsend/there were several loose plot ends, but the writing actually flowed pretty well, and made a shit-ton of sense and was very relate-able(Cybertronians are enemies, and also composed of a valuable resource; let’s exploit what they are made of for money after hunting them down! The same way many corporate entities today do with endangered animals, through illegal poachers, kinda like with Lockdown and Prime), and the human perspective/side of the story was WAY better, and actually parallels a LOT of real-life stuff, which helps it’s case a lot IMO.
For instance, how many people don’t even bother going to college now, because money is tight?
Another parallel, college is a big risk, and yet parents make an effort to get their kids going to some place where they can get the skill sets needed to thrive, even if they could take a fall for it.
I felt those two hard, myself; I didn’t really try in college for the little time I went and bailed out for it, and now I’m entirely self-taught in things/making ends meet, very similar to how Cade is. Doesn’t help that he’s a techhead, and so am I, lol.
For a Bay TF movie to touch upon things and aspects that happen IRL is a BIG, BIG step forward. Like, a milestone.
For him to (apparently)finally learn that that is how you make a story better is a huge deal. LOL
is this movie so bad its good kinda thing? at least good cgi/3d and mindless action? thinking about wasting 3 hours. thats of cource IF I wanna go for planet of the apes movie too.
looking for a reason to care about a 17% rt movie lol…
Movie critics/critique sites are always biased, and comically badly at that.
No exceptions. Let the reader beware.
It’s actually a pretty decent story/has better writing, finally. That depends on what you see as good stories, of course and there were a few plotholes/asspulls, but it blows RoTF out of the water in this regard, and is done better writing-wise than DoTM.
And, the action is good, as always.
It’s 2 hrs+45 mins, but it was pretty easy for me to get caught up in it, Cade’s part of the writing(trying to get his daughter through college/making ends meet, barely, and not always doing so) got me where it counts. It’s pretty relate-able with real life stuff, so that helped me there lol.
Worth it IMO. Better than the last 3. Its really more bay hate in the reviews than anything else that I have seen as of late. It really should have just been 2 movies.
