I wouldn’t expect anything for maybe the next 2 years at the most. Retro is interested but they’re busy with DK…That is of course unless Sakamoto has been steadily working on a project on the side at the same time of developing Rhythm Heaven Fever and Game & Wario.

I finally got the Metroid Trilogy to work on my softmodded Wii. It is absolutely fantastic being able to go back to these gems and play them with the motion control excellence of Corruption.
But it also makes me want a new Metroid…badly…I would kill to see a Skyrim-type, free roam, RPG-style Metroid game.
Nintendo is fucking up. The WiiU has limitless potential with franchises like this and I feel like they’re just sitting with their thumbs up their asses.

Since there was some discussion of Project Base in this thread about a year ago, I thought I should follow up and let ya’ll know that I’ve released a new version (0.7) that MASSIVELY improves on just about everything from the previous version. I’ve reworked almost every single color palette to make things more vibrant. Turns out the monitor I was using at the time didn’t discern between certain shades very well, haha. I got a new one and immediately had to redo all of the colors because I was horrified.
You get it from Metroid Database, Metroid Construction.com, or my site begrimed.com. If anyone here decides to play it, enjoy!
For a minute I was like ‘was there some new info on Metroid I didn’t hear about?’. Awesome none the less though. It does look more colorful now. I like how the last panel on bottom right looks.

Edit: It definitely looks cool. The Metroid Influence is definitely there, but it also looks to have a lot of unique character all it’s own which makes me happy as I felt it was a bit TOO Metroid when I first saw it. Look forward to playing it that’s for sure.

There’s quality stuff left and right, it’s insane. I’ve never seen such a creatively artistic fanbase for a game like this, save a good handful like the Dark Souls or Fallout community.

That saddens me to hear because I’ve always felt the transition into the Prime games was near perfect, and an interesting and welcome evolution of the series.
