That’s true…I only go there maybe once or twice a month…never in the mornings.
2 tokens a game does suck
at that price i would expect all the controls to be in top notch condition for the very least …but they are not

Thank you haunts and kev-inc for your helpful and considerate comments.
I will be checking this forum more frequently but if you need to contact me personally, you may do so at bweaver(at)tilt(dot)com. If have also instituted a weekly schedule of preventative maintenance to get on top of problems before they become major problems. I will also be doing this for other games like the DDRs and PIU.
I have never been happy with the original control panel for 33"MVC2 and will be changing it to better align the joysticks. Starting today, I will make all Capcom games 1 coin to continue, and that includes CVS2 when it gets here next week. This will be a special price to test whether lowering the continue cost will get people to play each other more. Call it a social experiment. But, it will still be 2 tokens to start. Call that a compromise. SVC will not be changed but will probably leave for a better game, sorry, I’ve hated that game from day 1.
I remember a while back certain days, like Tuesday or something, fighting games were like 1 token or something… They should do that again…
I’ve also thought about doing a special day rate like that but I have to get the machines stabilized before figuring out when that day would be and what it would entail. I’m certainly open to suggestions, but we are in the highest dollar area you can get. So I also must consider that fact.
Thank you…
Don’t really live in the area, or no the situation so forgive me, but how about everyone write their complaints down on a bulletin of some sort that way when the tech goes in he already has a list.
I’m the tech and having a board to write on will just invite vandalism.
I’ve tried it before in other locations.
Comment cards in a lock box might be an option.
I found the problem with the 3S monitor and had to ship it off to the manufacturer. So 3S will be down over the weekend, but it can’t be helped.
darn…i was thinking of stopping by to help kill some time this weekend…
since you’re digging in the cabinet…check and see when the suicide battery was last replaced
Look at you with your big brain!
Will do. Part of routine maintenance.
well nobody wants 3s cart to suddenly die, especially a USA version (im guessing) :), they are so sensitive to power loss…
sticks that actually work?
1 token to continue?
monitor that doesn’t black out every 2 minutes?
I going to have to start going to Metreon again.
Metreon Tilt, please post up when the 3s machine’s monitor is returned fixed.
player 2 joystick is still shit. Player 1 is good though. I was there when he was fixing the joysticks said player 2 side is broken still and mentioned that it was. ignored…
at least the monitor is getting replaced…
i’ll start going more often too if they can have two good working sticks or i call player 1 side :wgrin:
I thought I could salvage the second player joystick, but I guess it’s not up to snuff. It was stripped and inspected.
It also must be replaced, and I have to order another. All out of spares.
I’ll post when 3S is back up and walking.
If what you say about 2 to start and one to continue is true then I will spread the word, but you must hold true to your word. When will this begin?
3S is already that way (but it’s down until next week) and MVC2 will be changed tomorrow when I go through it and check all the buttons and joysticks. CVS2 will be here probably late next week but will almost certainly need some work to get it running 100%.
Ggs to the few I played…dunno whether you all posted here or not.
Mvc2 showcase was working just fine…
Place seems cool.
Dope, cant wait to make it there when I move back!
I’m there on random wednesdays and sundays. However I never see anyone I recognize…
Hey check this out, I understand that your location demands that you have these prices, however if it’s possible then could you have the 3s mechine cost 2 tokens and then at lets say 3:00 one of your staff members change it to 2 to start and 1 to continue. I figure this way you can make money off of the random people who come in and for the regulars this will come into effect. It doesn’t have to be 3, What does everyone think about that. Suggest times.
its already been changed to 2 to start 1 to continue.
P.S. hit me up when you’re done hiding out.
Yes, the 3S has been changed to 1 coin to continue. But there is an issue with the MVC2.
It seems there is no “versus” continue for this game. The machine is set for 1 coin to continue, but it does not give an option to continue after a human player defeats another human. I have never seen this before and, to my knowledge, no other Capcom game has this issue. Unless someone can tell me what I’m doing wrong. But I’ve looked throughout the software and can’t find it.
So as it stands, when you lose to the computer, you can continue for one coin.
But who loses to the computer?
That said, we may go to a pricing system that both benefits the hardcore player, and still allows us to make coin. That might be a weekday battle format, where Monday through Thursday the MVC2 is set up on one coin all day. Then on the weekends, when we have the most traffic, the machine goes back to two coins.
Please post thoughts.
I’m trying to accomodate everyone and foster a competitive environment because games are meant to be social; played against another human you can see, smack talk, shake hands, cheer, pwn…whatever.
