linkin park r00lz dude!!
what ever happened to that “Metreon Tilt” guy… back on page 20 on this thread lol
do you go to metreon?
then they suck dude, no further input needed.:karate:
1p on 3s cab: cannot dash. something wrong with the inputs i think.
2p on mvc2 tiny cab: cannot block. something wrong with the inputs i think.
It would be gay to play on a tv+console when the arcade machine is only 20 feet away. I know people want to save money but…
As far as the sticks being broken, if they only are worried about procuring parts 360s cost $27.95 each. Even if they don’t want to spend that much (which is bullshit), Happ 8-ways cost only $8-10 a piece. That said, they have a bigger problem in terms of that crap monitor which goes off during gameplay?! I was there 2 weeks ago and the monitor went off at least 5 times. If they fix that, I will give them the 2 8-ways I have lying around the house for free. I guess they can have them anyway if they will install them.
I’m an OakTree refugee but SFSU is the place to be.
For now.
As I said, I don’t check this board.
When someone came to the store and informed me of the problems, they were fixed within 20 minutes.
End of story.
But you know what they say… if you don’t like something, go on the internet and complain.
So… new p360 installed on player 1 3S (that I had sitting in the back).
… buttons fixed on small MVC2.
… I could not get the 3S monitor to replicate the complaint about it shutting down but when I do it will be repaired or replaced.
Also, for those who care, I have a CVS2 coming in by Aug. 1st and I managed to find a Japanese Tekken 6 cabinet and it will also arrive in a few weeks, possibly August 1st as well.
If and when SF4 hits the states, we will also get that.
Tournaments and special events will begin shortly (once we get the machines we want and everything working 100%), perhaps on a monthly basis, but that depends on level of support.
Now does that sound like someone who doesn’t care about the fighting game community? I guess so…
If anyone managed to actually speak to the HUMANS working here, they would realize how much work is involved with running a tourist arcade like this one in the height of the summer season. When someone has a problem with a ticket game, you better believe the customer comes right up to us and gets the problem resolved. Is everyone shy? I am the only one qualified to properly maintain machines to the standards needed for high level gameplay. If you don’t talk to me, and give me details, you may not get what you want. I attempted to introduce myself to the community here, but to date, only 2 people have said one word to me.
And BTW, without the ticket games, there would be NO fighting games. Just like without a football program, a college would not be able to fund the smaller sports.
So, since no one wants to speak to me face to face, I will be forced to check this forum more regularly and address the anonymous complaints when I see them.
bump
Can you post a pic of what you look like or something? Or who to ask for?
I always assumed someone had to just inform you guys of whats going on. I guess A-rival bitching made something happen.
My name is Brian.
I have tattoos and I’m a tall white guy.
I work everyday in the mornings.
You can’t miss me.
I don’t know anyone by their online identity so the name A-Rival means nothing to me unless introduced as such.
Thank you for your help Brian
I noticed sometimes the monitor blacks-out at the VS screen. The sudden bright white flash after selecting characters makes it go out. it occurs maybe 1/10 games or so…?
Maybe it’s just me but some of the buttons seem a little flakey to me…do some input tests to determine faults.
CVS2 and T6, sweet!
BTW Thanks Brian!
**
Hype!**
Thanks for your efforts on getting stuff fixed too btw.
Just a questions Brain. Where did your cvs2 cabinet come from?
Tried to play some marvel today, couldnt do anything involving more than one button press. Two tokens for it too, sucker is me.
Did you let anyone know you had problems with the machine?
Probably not. Here, let me inspire you. “Hi, I was playing your _______ and the buttons aren’t working properly. Can you fix it?” Simple and only requiring a small amount of effort on your part.
But you can also just go online and flame, that’s effective.
You see, this is why arcade operators don’t pay any F@#$in attention. They have no idea there is a problem! We’re busy working, not playing the games. Now I’m busy wasting my time addressing this.
The big screen Marvel is my top fighting game and I have not heard one single complaint, especially not while I was there (and I am there around 50 hours a week).
Maybe I’ll just go back to ignoring this forum.
**“Where did your cvs2 cabinet come from?”
**
Somewhere in Socal, I’m not entirely sure. It may have to be re-furbished, but I have all the parts already so it shouldn’t be a difficult or lengthy job.
“I noticed sometimes the monitor blacks-out at the VS screen. The sudden bright white flash after selecting characters makes it go out. it occurs maybe 1/10 games or so…?”
Thank you! That greatly helps me determine what could be wrong with the monitor.
Cool, if its not a problem, may I have the info of the place you got it from. I wanna look into some cabs.
from my experience we do talk to HUMANS that work there. Me and two other 3rd strike players tell jose every other day that somethings wrong. even when it comes to tekken when 1p’s “1” stops workin. he doesnt do nething, he just says ok ill fix it and never does.
Mr Tilt Man - why bother talking to anyone there, when some jackass behind the counter not doing a damn thing but sitting down on his ass won’t break my $20, and I have to hunt for someone else to do it? Can’t even make me some change, why should I expect you to fucking fix anything? I’ll sure as shit flame your fucked up arcade now.
The big marvel cab is terrible - the sticks and buttons are at an awkward angle, the stick felt like it was coming loose from the panel, and I couldn’t get anything involving moderately complex out like basic tri-jumping and magento’s ROM. Couldn’t super jump, fly, or execute anything that took more than one button press / stick motion. That cab is terrible, and you’re charging 2002 prices for it.
customer service 0/10
controls 0/10
price on an 8 year old game 0/10
friendliness of other players 10/10
…The rational man in me applauds the management for building the library…
However the other part’s still pissed he shelled out .50 for a game of SvC Chaos day 1…
It sounds like Brians schedule (mornings) dosent match up with people who play fighting games, thats probably why things dont get fixed and he dosent hear about them,.
Brian, I would suggest that you either check the forum or give us a phone number to call to let you know about problems. Maybe an alternate email address… Possibly set up a drop box with paper and pen next to it so we can write down problems and you can check and see whats wrong in the mornings. Me personally, Ill never be there in the mornings… Im usually there Saturday afternoon or afternoons late rin the week.
THE NIGHT IS ALWAYS DARKESTS BEFORE THE DAWNZ.
