Lol they’ve even made a wavedashing hack by changing the air-dodge physics to Melee-style ones.
As for MK making a good portion of the cast unplayable: I don’t think he is the only one that does this. DDD flat out destroys certain characters with his chaingrab->edguarding antics, Falco can essentially prevent certain characters from ever closing in on him (and he has that chaingrab->spike for those that get within range), G&W can prevent certain characters from camping as well as out-prioritizing all of their moves with bair, etc.
Basically, instead of 1 character “dominating” the metagame, you’ll end up having about 4-5 characters. Low tiers will still be low tiers because of their autofail matchups against DDD/G&W/etc., and honestly I don’t see too many low-high/middle-tier characters benefiting from a MK ban (maybe Pit and Toon Link, but I don’t really know about anyone else. Care to help me out?).
I’m honestly guessing that the scene doesn’t want to let their game die despite being quite bad competitively, so they are doing whatever they can in order to make it…less bad I guess.
Fuckin told you…You fight MK enough and you can actually see that arc above him at all times. If you ever get close to that arc you HAVE analyze the situation quickly and be ready for it other wise. MK trying to do an up b to you while you’re off the stage to gimp can actually be detrimental to his health if you’re looking for it and make it to the stage before he does. Most Mk’s that try to do that try to go for the ledge.
I’ve actually played that Luigi vs DDD match up with xsamuraix with me being Luigi. I was keeping up with him and doing a pretty good job dodging the grabs…but all it takes is one. Most of it matches ending up being a waddle dee/fireball throwing fest with each of us trying to find an opening. Haven’t played that match up in awhile though so I don’t know if there’s anything else to it.
Yea I dodged MK’s Up B a few times, but when we’re both near the edge it gets dangerous. When he perfect shields into it I’m in trouble. I tried killing him with F smash, and now that I think about it that was a really bad idea. A simple perfect shield into Up B wrecked my shit, but I’m not letting that happen again.
As for the DDD vs. Luigi match up I don’t really think there’s much to cover. It truly can go both ways (not including the infinite grab). The infinite makes the match up 80:20 in favor of DDD I think.
No doubt…once luigi get’s grabbed you can practically kiss that stock good bye. I enjoy fighting the odds though and proving things aren’t completely impossible.
…wait you were playing bowser and tried to hit hitting him with a forward smash? You aren’t talking about that slow as hell headbutt are you?
Yea I tried the jab mixup into Fsmash trying to utilize the super armor frames he has on it, but that didn’t work so well. I was probably better off using downtilt or D smash.
Having a top tier that balance each other out is better than having one guy sitting on top of everyone else.
Also, people who main certain characters that get destroyed by certain matchups, most of the time, learn a secondary. The problem is that, again, most of the time, that secondary is MK.
LOL you can grab and spam attack and then when they are released after they break out of the grab (depending on the character) they will have so much stun on the ground while you have barely any lag from the release so you can immediately with some moves. Like against wario, most characters smashes can hit him. There are also some grab release infinites like against ness and lucas.
Obviously, Barwl is the most amazing game ever. :china:
Umm, anything a Ganondorf can do against Metaknight? I know that it’s good to not leave the ground (is it ever anything to do vs him?), but does 'dorf’s FTiltdo anything to tornado, or is that like bending over and grabbing your ankles?
Clearly, since Ganon’s heavy as shit the idea is to just fight a war of attrition against him, and thankfully the rare times you can get damage in REALLY add up, more so due to MK’s lack of mass, but getting those shots in is going to be key.
MK is one of the few characters that can be combo’ed off with most of G-dorf attacks after his side-b.His Side-B to Dash Attack combo kills at around 70-80% depending on the stage and how good the MK’s DI is.
…
That’s it. MK completely rapes Ganondorf in every other area.
G-dorf should try to kill MK upward anyways since you should be using D-tilt and Dash Attack to kill, since its quick moves and the more appropriate ones to do after the Side-b.
If you’re stopping his tornados with the dash attack then most of the time it’s better to D-tilt for the kill.
you kidding me, getting in the air is exactly what you want to do, ganon is an air character, and trust me if Mk is above him mk gets raped by the up air–>back air, bait. Against the tornado, f-tilt, f-smash (lol),u-smash,neutral A, dashing A, down B(when he is below you and you are in the air),upB, down air, and forward air (tricky one), beat it, along with blocking and just grabbing.
General strat is to jump around MK poking him with a few moves but mostly waiting for him to attack and getting off a grab or another hit to launch him up then do his up air(oppenent dodges), back air(as soon as they leave the dodge). Plus f-air outranges MK, it doesn’t look like it but the f-air moves ganons hit box back alot, which he can easily bait a foolish MK into whiffing his f-air into ganons f-air. And don’t forget running A has insane priority right at the start. I play ganon alot and I would have to say I would not put this matchup any worse than 6-4, actually I wouldn’t be suprised if it was even, anyone without a great projectile has problems, against ganon(damn falco, pika, wolf, pit *reasons why I don’t play him seriously, and Dedede but thats for another reason).
BTW if you are afraid of a Shuttle loop just remember he has to hit a few on you to matter, if he misses one, he dies (fsmash is very unforgiving).
@kr3wman
BTW for the last time YOU CAN’T COMBO AFTER SIDE B ON MOST CHARACTERS WITH GANONDORF. All its for is for a mixup, while it does give you some neat Oki options.
Ganon kills with up air(90%ish),f-smash(40%ish),f-air(60%ish),d-air(can spike,70%ish off ground bounce), aireal down B(can spike, if knocks up 80%ish,110%ish off ground), sometimes if you need a quick killer its f-tilt(110%ish), d-tilt is more of a poke(normally doesn’t kill until 140%, and its slower startup then f-tilt despite having a better recovery).
Also you should never be able to connect side-B on a good Mk cause they will prob be zoning, plus every ganon player I see seems to think this is a great move that they can use alot, when its unsafe and gets you killed far more often. *note that only applies to ground side B aireal side B is another matter :P.
online matches prove nothing MK is even more raep online, f-ing lag, but next time Im home for a few days Ill be glad to play online not to prove whos better just to see other ppls play styles, and try to learn from it. Ill probably play ppl here cause random matches are boring, and while you guys may not be the best I will not have to play a ton of n00bs, who think they are great, plus this site proably has more strats. I just have a bad feeling that online I will not be able to get out of B spam, cause to escape that you actually need to time shit. I might get some games in this winter break.
Sorry Im a little bitter about wii online matches, cause Im used to GGPO, and caster, where online matches only have like 3-4 frames of lag, unless there is some super secret but I seem to constantly stay around 10-15 frames of lag in brawl online, which is pretty much unplayable in my opinion.
*plus I said its still around 6-4 in MK’s favor, in my opinion, I mean ganon should be fearing dedede far far more than a MK.
