Mel Masters

Bison should come back from hell, all demonized with a 666 scrawled on his back. Akuma tries to kill him with Shun Goku Satsu, but obviously won’t work. So Akuma and one-arm using pumped up Ryu have to work together to take Bison down for good. Throw in Gill somewhere for good measure.

But Sagat wants to fight the man that put the scar on his chest, ie SNH Ryu. Check out my story “Old Scars Begin Anew” (if you havnt already)

Ryu cant use the SGS in my story, he kills Akuma with a (powerful/shinku/dejin) Hadouken charged with the killing intnet.

Well I agree that in the Alpha timeline Ryu would have the Hulk like complex when he’s tranformed however, if he were ever to go SNH post SF3, I think he’d be more like Akuma, ie calm and focused.

There’s nobody in my storyline powerful enough to take SNH Ryu, which is why nobody does, except for in the “bad ending” but in the “good” ending I wrote he ends up reverting back to his normal self (I forget how I wrote/made it happen)

For just guessing you’re on the right track as to what SF4 is or will be.

What I heard from Capcom was they had developed multiple stories for SF4, but the one they said they were most likely to use was this one.

** Day of Reckoning that the Illuminati fortold is happening, which shouldt be a problem since their savior Gill is around, however the same person who caused the apocalypse (who is part of the Illuminati) has found a way to depower Gill. Then the new bad guy starts a tournament to decide to fate of the world. Gill teams up with the SFers (thats right I called them the SFers) to try and save the world.**

Its not the greatest storyline, but at least its a bit more epic and meaningful then most of the SF storylines. The story makes it seem like Gill is the main character, but he isnt. The main character and boss in each direct sequel/tournament based SF game always has a new main character and new boss. Im sure the end of the storyline will result in Gill sacraficing him to save mankind, and Alex playing a important part as well.

Ryu is said to be the only pre-existing SF3 character to be returning (haha take that classic SF characters, and their fans) and its gonna be cel-shaded, which Im sure everybody is gonna love.

TAS - All good answers, I’m sure you wowed Capcom. I still don’t want SNH Ryu to show up in a canon game however.

You aren’t serious, are you? This sounds extremely lame, it sounds so lame it could be a KOF story line.

Satsu no Hadou for Ryu is over
Sagat’s vengeance against Ryu is over
Alex’s story is over, which means Gill’s story is over as well.

SF4’s story is completely new and up in the air.

So Urien betrays Gill(long time coming) and makes him weaker then joins the new baddy(because Capcom would be idiots to have Urien as the villain to end it all). You said Ryu will be the only pre-SF3 character returning? That doesn’t make sense. So now all of a sudden Chun Li, Guile and Ken don’t care to help save the planet from APOCALYPSE(not the person, but bad enough). Ryu’s only in the tournament because it is a tournament and he never turns those down. Chun Li entered SF3 to find out what Gill was up to, when she finds out about the apocalypse she goes home and say “fuck it”? The lazy bitch. Guile has his own jet fighter and free reign to do whatever as long as it’s “personal”. But he’s just gonna sit back and watch Ryu get engulfed in hellfire by some demon? Ryu finally comfronts Akuma and Ken can’t be there for his boy? Them some punk ass SFers. And what about the ppl from SF1? The blonde guy in the red pants?.. Ok I’m done. Lol.

Capcom still thinks they can get by with just Ryu. If this the last real SF from them then the fans will demand a bit of nostalgia.

Lol, yeah right. Were you paying attention to SF3 at all? SF3 was only the set up to something bigger. Alex’s storyline isnt over either, they said he’d play a part in the apocalypse.

That story is lame, but yet the previous SF storylines are like what, works of art? Since when has any recent fighting game actually had a good storyline, or one that people dont find lame? And did you seriously think Capcom was going to do more. Also the SF3 storyline is like that of a KOF game, so I dont know what you were getting at with the KOF remark.

Not everyone knows that the fate of the world is hanging in the balance, or else millions of people would enter. The fighters who enter find out that the Earth is in trouble only after entering the tournament. Note, this was something I asked about, as the same question just asked came to mind when I heard about it from them.

Also the game at the earliest is set to come out in 2007-2008, and all the SF sequel/tournament games take place around the year the game is released, meaning at that point and time in the canon, people like Guile and Chun Li wouldnt care about a tournament. Chun Li’s a mother now, and its unlike her to put her life on the line in tournaments anymore, or even work for Interpol, like maybe she gives up her job at Interpol, and ends up doing something similar but less dangerous like becoming a private investigator.

Also why would anyone care about the SF1 characters, and besides timeline wise the ones that havnt been seen since SF1 (Retsu, Joe, Lee, and Geki) would be too old. The guy with the blonde hair and red pants is Joe, he was later redesigned/revamped and made into Cody.

Ryu isnt the only returning character, there will be a few SF3 characters coming back as well. Capcom has no intentions of making SF4 the last SF game, and I doubt fans will see this as a real SF game given it will be cel-shaded (which Im looking foward to now that I know it can be done good now, after seeing DBZ Budokai 3)

Sagat’s fight against Ryu is not over. They didn’t fight during SF2, and his new ending in SF2 Revival that retcons all of his other SF2 Endings has him saying their rematch will be worthy of the Gods. They won’t fight for vengeance, just to see who is the best. The two characters have an Eternal Rivalry that will never be truly settled (Think Kyo vs. Iori, Kenshin vs. Saito, Vegeta vs. Goku, etc.) which is what makes it such a great rivalry. Ryu beat Sagat the first time only because of Satsui No Hadou. Sagat won the second time only because Ryu was brainwashed. Neither have clean wins over the other.

I’ll write my SF4 Concept later since we are swapping SF4 ideas.

Alex’s story is over. COMPLETELY. I’ve followed SF3’s story from the start, and Alex is my best and favorite character, so yes, I know his story pretty damn well by now. In his 3S ending, he has absolutely nothing to do with Gill, and he’s decided to take on a path for him to find stronger opponents la Ryu. His case of revenge is over, which was his main driving force in the SF3 storyline, but that was cleared up after he beat Gill got some answers from Gill in 2I. In 3S, his ending has NOTHING to do with Gill, doesn’t even mention Gill at all. Alex is now trying to find himself and grow stronger by fighting more opponents, because he realized that he’s not that strong.

Chun Li isn’t a mother…

edit: Sagat’s story with Ryu is over as well, because he doens’t need to fight Ryu anymore. He’s realized himself, and he’s a peace with himself. The hatred that was driving him is gone, so apart from appeasing fanboys, I STRONGLY doubt that Capcom will rehash that whole Sagat/Ryu battle for the sake of it. Although they did not fight again, Sagat has come to terms that he does not need to fight Ryu.

Lots of people elude to Alex being the one spoken about in Gill’s prophecy stated in SF3 Second Impact. Plus, if you play the game with Gill, you can see Alex’s true potential. You’re right, Capcom may choose to ignore it (like they ignored dealing with what happened to Guy, Adon, Rose, etc.) but there’s something there.

As far as Ryu vs. Sagat, you’re right too in a sense, because with it being an Eternal Rivalry Capcom would never truly settle it, but the rematch since SFZ3 is long and coming and since forever before the SFZ Series Capcom stated that Ryu and Sagat didn’t fight in SF2 (Double reinforced by the Anime and Masahiko Nakahira’s SF2 Manga released in the US) the rematch is very long and coming.

Very well put,endless8. You know your street fighter.Tas is a devoted fan,and I admire that, but he does not know everything just because he pitched some ideas to capcom.I wouldn’t mind seeing an older Sakura,Cammy,Vega,Sagat and Zangief return. There would be no reason they couldn’t or wouldn’t,so it would be cool.Blanka’s story is done,so is Dhalsim’s,T.Hawk’s and Guile’s.E. Honda and Fei Long could return also, but doubtful.I really want to see Sean,Q,Makoto,Remy,Ibuki,Urien and Necro or Effie to take his place.Alex will return, and more than likely Akuma will pop up sometime unexpectedly.Cel shading is a cool idea, and I hope it plays more like street fighter 3 than anything else.Parrying is a must.

Well, here’s my SF4 Concept. Feel free to laugh at it, whatever. I’m not sensitive about these things.

ARTIST

Nothing against the Anime look, but it’s time for a change. Capcom should hire Tetsuo Hara of Fist of tne North Star and Slammasters fame to return SF to it’s hardcore SF routes of SF1 and the early versions of SF2. And if he can bring Buronson since he only wrote Fist of the North Star THE GREATEST MARTIAL ARTS MANGA IN EXISTENCE all the merrier.

Second runner up is Peter Chung of Aeon Flux and Alexander AKA Reign. In Phantom 2040 he showed he can do established characters, so don’t worry about him putting red lips on Ryu or anything since he didn’t do this on Phantom. Anyway, his character Designs from everything to Transformers the Movie to Dark Fury are wild enough to shake up SF really good, especially in regards to new characters.

Lots of third runner ups from Hirohiko Araki (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) to Miura (Berserk) but moving things along -

RETURNING CHARACTERS

Now, I don’t mind Capcom returning 4 characters after only a few years, but seeing as how we aren’t getting anything in like a decade at best they are hella retarted if they pull that crap again. Let’s face it, it’s all about the original SF2 8. All games the original SF2 8 have shown up in (SFZ3, CVS1 & 2) have been sucessful games, it’s a no brainer. All Capcom has to do to explain them bieng there, they have a new beef with the Boss, are forced to attend or just want t show their strength upon invitation. It ain’t hard, Capcom and it will guarantee success.

I’d also toss in Sagat, Cammy, Balrog and Gouki. Anyone else missing from SF2 in my list will show up in the Home Version.

SFZ - Adon and Guy. Two characters we don’t know what happened to exactly after SFZ. (Juni and Juli along with two other Dolls of TiamatRoar’s choosing all wearing plain clothes after SFZ3 will be hidden in the Home Versions as a tribute to the great TiamatRoar for writing the Plot Guide!)

SF3 - Alex and Urien - These are Okamoto’s two favorite SF3 Characters. Since Okamoto left Capcom, they need to do whatever they can to channel his ‘spirit.’

NEW CHARACTERS

For the Most Part, Capcom needs to stop looking at Anime and see what is going on in the world today to create new characters. Here’s some of my bad examples, note they are examples but they follow the thinking Capcom should implore IMHO.

There are lots of Champions in Sumo now that are American, Hawaiin, etc. It’s not just a Japanese Sport anymore. So they should create an African American Sumo Wrestler. He should be a brain surgeon on the side, no more racist stereotypes! Since E.Honda doesn’t fight in traditional Sumo style, we have an instant rivalry here.

Two trends have become popular in recent years in Televised Boxing. Female Boxers like Christy Martin and Mexican Boxers such as Camacho, Oscar De la Hoya, and even Trinindad even though he’s Puerto Rican he’s still Latino. Combine the two. Create a Mexican Female Boxer.

Members of the Jewish Defense League use a Martial Art that uses three parts of the body that can not (or are difficult) to be broken, the web between your thumb and Pointing Finger, elbow and wrist, so it’s kind of like Mue Thai arm strikes but different, involves more gauging. Arm this Female Member of the JDL with Akido also for more variation. She can wear a tuxedo over Isrealite symbols on her Shirt as an outfit.

Aside from Martial Arts, Hong Kong Cinema and their comics that are currently exploding in the US are full of Kung Fu Characters using Broad Chinese Swords (think Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Jet Li’s Hero, Storm Riders Movie and Comic, etc., etc., etc.) Create a character like this as an Assasin from Shanghai so you know he is no joke.

STORY - I have my story concept but I won’t bore you with it unless you really want me to. There are lots of people in Japan who can write a great story and breath new life into the franchise. I’m still going with Buronson as my #1 choice but there’s plenty others who can do it.

There was something there. The critical point is that Alex COULD of chosen to go down that path, but he decided not to. In addition, Gill’s ending didn’t happen (yea, that’s a cop out answer, but there are more reasons, which I will state) Another reason is simply because Capcom won’t put more into Alex as a main character because he’s gotten over the revenge, he’s an American character (no offense, but it’s fact), his story is generally over and resolved, and he’s really not that powerful.

Another reason (it’s hard to explain, so bear with me) is because Alex’s character is lacking “guts”. It’s that japanese term for that burning fire in your heart and soul to achieve something. If you look at Alex’s character from the game point of view, and story point of view, Alex is really f&*(King powerful. He’s VERY quick for his size, and he’s physically a monster. But Ryu beat him relatively easily because he lacks the burning desire. Ryu sensed Alex’s potential in 3S, but compared to a lot of other characters, Alex’s spirit is young and weak. It would take too long for Capcom to develop that for Alex, and I don’t think they will, because Ryu’s passion, desire, spirit, and story is already there.

Again, with the Sagat/Ryu, I myself would like to see that, but I strongly doubt that we will see it.

I still believe that it will be between Gouki and Ryu.

And what I posted before about Ryu being the final boss in SF4… I was half serious about that… Story-wise, SF4 Ryu is going to be a pain for Capcom to do because he will be soo damn strong, but he’s going to be a usable character (I think)

:dp: :3p: that shizz!
SF1 dragon punch damage!!!

This is where I kinda’ disagree w/ you. Sagat is no longer driven/motivated by hate and revenge, but he still wants a rematch w/ Ryu. It’s shown in both his SSF2T Revival and SFA3 ending. Sagat still feels that he needs to defeat Ryu. However, I agree that we’ll probably never see the rematch and Sagat probably won’t return in SF4.
::begins reading sano’s SF4 concept::

I’m tired of most of the original SF2 characters. They wore out there welcome long ago. They’re spent. However, you’re right. The only SF2 cgaracters I wouldn’t mind seeing again are Sagat, Gouki, Blanka, Fei Long, Cammy (maybe), and maybe Vega (mask).

I like that.

NONSENSE!!! Post your story concept!

You must not of been paying attention to SF3:TS then, or read the official stuff stated by Capcom.

Chun Li adopted that little girl she saved (and possibly some other kids as well) and you know when a woman adopts a child, legaly she is considered to be her mother, just trying to clear that up for you just in case you dont know how adoption works and all.

Of course I dont know everything, but its stupid to assume I think I know everything cause I went to Capcom. Seriously how much can/could I learn from just one trip there? Most of the stuff they told me about SF4 I already knew before going in there, and I know alot because of the Plot Canon guide, and because of Sano, Tiamat, Saiki, web sites, books, official statements, friends in the industry, etc, etc, so you might want to think about all that instead of me taking a trip to Capcom.

Im not going to respond to everything, but when it comes to the classic SF chars and what happend to them, I thought you and everyone might like to know (if I havnt told you already)

Capcom is consdering doing a “All About Street Fighter” (tenative title) book which covers the whole SF saga, with a detailed version of all the storylines, in depth character bios, etc, etc. The character bios are the most important part as they’ll explain what to them, and what they’ve been doing since we’ve seem them last, and all that stuff. Basicly they’ll wrap up all the loose ends with the book (they’re also considering doing a MegaMan and Resident Evil book in this same fashion) but before they do it, they want to be absolutely sure of everything, although I dont see this coming out till around the time of SF4.

Also I asked them about Adon, they said its quite possible he died after SFA3, which makes sense, I wouldnt expect anyone going after Akuma to live.

OH and one thing they told me I will never forget…(this was sort of in relation to the book they told me about)

(not an exact quote, but as good as I can remember it)

"Just know that when it comes to characters, we do not need to put them in a game as a playable character to explain what happend with them. We can easily tell stories through intros, endings, or books even, so dont think that just because a character wont be in the next SF game(s) we wont ever explain what happend to them."

Basicly meaning Akuma does not have to be a playable character in SF4 for him and Ryu to settle the score. Sagat does not have to be in SF4 for their ultimate fight to take place. No character has to be (playable) in the game to explain what happend to them, which makes perfect sense. Sure these characters will be missed as playable in the next SF game, however that dosnt mean they wont show up in other games.

Cool. I’ll Post my story concept tommorow, it’s kind of silly but eh. Right now I’m off to buy Viewtiful Joe for PS2! My Udon Summer Special came in the mail this morning, so I’ll be sure to talk about that on some Thread.

Oh come on, you know what I meant when I said Chun Li isn’t a mother! What’s up with the “high and mighty” attitude, eh? Get off your high horse.
Two times you said that I need to play SF3… who the HELL are you to say that? If you want to go on and bitch about technicalities like that, I can do that as well, but it always turns into a silly little flamewar.

As for “All About Street Fighter”…unless i’m completely slow today, I think they already have a book like that, with the same title in Japan. I’ll try to find a link after I get home from work.
edit: checked, nope, there is an All about SF EX and All about SF3, but not a complete All about SF.

And again, as for Sagat/Ryu, although the story btwn these two haven’t been fully and officially closed, I think that Capcom considers it closed because of the major reworking of Sagat’s storyline. Sagat WANTS a fight with Ryu, but he has realized that he doesn’t NEED a fight with Ryu, which is what I meant when he’s at peace with himself.

TAS - Adon may be dead? Oh brother. Yet another silly off screen death from Capcom. He has joined the ranks of Rose, Gen, possibly Guy and the original Megaman. Way to go Adon. And yeah, it would suck if he died. I really like Adon.

LOL.You sure know how to twist stuff around.I don’t think you know everything from pitching stuff to capcom,I think YOU think you know everything from pitching stuff to capcom.I am a street fighter junkie, and know just as much as you about it.It just seems you think you know it all and no one else knows anything like on this forum and the snk-capcom site. It’s great you are such a eevoted fan,but I am just as devoted and I am sure most everyone that visits these forums are also.

Anyways, bringing back Sagat would not be a bad thing.like stated before,he and Ryu could have an ultimate showdown of talents and power to see who is stronger.Ryu has gotten much more powerful and had learned godlike techniques from his master Oro by now,and Sagat,I’m sure, has gotten much stronger and had learned many different techniques from characters like Dhalsim and such.Sakura could come back in the story somehom, even if its to stand by Ryu during a showdown with Gill or Akuma and not as a fighter.Zangief has no reason to come back, and if Hugo does not return, then we need a large wrestler type and it would be nice to have the big russian back. Who is to say Q is not really Bison(pscyho)under that mask?Trying to regain his strenght after his spirit barely survived Akuma’s raging demon. He had a superior body on hand( cyborg, robot, etc.)that was created by shadowloo, and as his body dies his spirit was able to survive and become Q.As he regains his strength,he observes the Illumini and when he is fully at power again,he defeats Gill and takes over making it into a new shadowloo, thus Vega and Balrog could return.Bison as Q now has ultimate power and only the likes of Ryu,with his new formed wisdom and power, has the ability to take him out. With possible help from others-Alex,Makoto,Ibuki,Sean,Mel,etc. I guess then Cammy and Guile could come back also.
