Magneto that was a pretty dumb assumption… I usually use my EX2 when I play. Obviously I had to use the 360 pad at my store which threw me off a bit, but you gotta make due with what you have. No, I’ve never been in a tournament before. I usually just play for fun but since SFIV went online I’ve had a lot of fun with it. At my university we have a game room where a lot of people play… apparently I’m a bit better than I thought I was because there’s not many people up there that can beat me. So, I figured I would give this GameStop tournament a try. I’d love to get one of those nicer arcade sticks for winning Round 3!

Relax scrub, if you stay at home and just talk shit behind your PC, you’re a no namer ok? I’ll await for you to come back saying your got balled up and scrapped into the recycling bin of pad scrubs when you come back from Round 3, although I’m not denying I had the same, but it was due to pad defectiveness and scrub tactics that are easily defeated on an joystick, not on a xbox pad.

Wow the md/va scene really changed…im VA alpha 2/ST og who played at GT (gametime for all u new to the area)…i remember long ago we had peoples tournaments where even west coasters and new york came down cause of our scene was hype. Now i check forums periodically and I see some new scrub player magnetomaniac whine cuase he lost a mall tournament. Dood get your head out of your ass if you lost you lost because you suck and didnt zone and use footsies correctly. How could lag tactics be used against you on a offline console tournament. Back in the day you played after shook hands and said good game regardless. If what i heard is correct and you were that lilttle indian boy that used to meditate to play mvc back in the day you turned out to become quite a middle eastern asshole teen. If phrostbyte comments he thinks you lost cause of skill, you did scrub. Challenging a new player to money matches instead of building our scene back to what it was is plain gay. Heres a thought get a job buy a headband of your own and pay for your own trip to cali instead of getting but hurt and being elitist cause you lost. When did I say I was an XBL champion? haha. I know I’m not the best. I’m over 85% with my main and usually less than 10% with everyone else hahaha. But the difference between Magneto and myself is that I just play to have fun, and when I lose I don’t fuss and make excuses. That’s not what gaming is about. And if you think SRK is the center of the universe you’re sadly mistaken. Maybe you should spend less time reading online forums and more time playing the game.
OK… here’s the deal… we may seem cocky, but it’s just reality: the best players here are better than everyone else. Yeah, there are scrubs that post here, and think they’re better than they are, but for the most part, this is a small community, and to be on the same level as players that break the games down like we do, you have to play with us. In other words, if you’re really good, we already know you.
Now, MagMan is sounding like a scrub right now, and I’m trying to let him know that. He should have adapted. That being said, I have little doubt that, if we were able to play under optimal conditions, this tournament would be free for SRK. As it is, we have to dumb our games down to the point where we lose a lot of our advantages. Some of us can still get by; others can’t. But judging somebody’s game by their ability to adapt to sub par conditions says nothing in regards to their full ability. They just suck at adapting (which is important), but that person that lost under shit conditions may be much better than their opponent at 100%.
I played at Hunt Valley yesterday, btw.
I’m just gonna say this:
MagMan, especially in this economy, someone like phrostbyte is not gonna want to play you for money. So with that said, you can try to persuade him to play you for money by decreasing the amount you’ll play him for like $50 or even just $20, or just invite him to C3 to see how brave and courageous he really is. Maybe even test his confidence.
That’s the best suggestion, I can think of.

And your make some valid points. I understand the whole point of this community is to learn and improve. But the elitist overtones are completely astounding. It’s like people here EXPECT to be the best, just because they’re a part of the community. That’s absurd. For example, he calls me a pad scrub despite the fact that I said I usually use a stick? I don’t really get the logic behind that… So, am I also a stick scrub in addition to being a pad scrub? You guys need to relax and just enjoy the game. If you lose, you lose. Get better. You guys prefer to blog, read/post on forums and study a bunch of data about your characters. I prefer to play online. As a matter of fact. With the way my schedule is nowadays, I wouldn’t have even bought SFIV if it wasn’t online. Different strokes.

It doesn’t matter to me, but when I get called a scrub by someone I don’t know I will more than likely challenge them to a money match. That’s all, no hate, just wanna play.
I don’t even mind playing on busted 360 pads, just that if I know they are beforehand so I can improvise my pad tactics.
