boy o boy do i have a story for yall…
we ALL got scraped by this sagat MEGA SCRUB. he didn’t even zone properly, but he still won with delayed mashed grabs and random ultras.
so the pads definitely sucked, like worst than the last time too…i swear something happened to them because the last time i ultra’d through tiger shots and now there was no hope. i wish it was 2/3 because i woulda switched when i figured out shit isn’t happening on those specific pads.
so this sagat scrub scrapes up me, broham, and pat in that order. what a lucky piece of shit.
yo havoc, if you’re using chun for pad, i recommend you STOP right now. that shit will pay when they random you and your block isn’t working. also the wireless controllers had delay…i kept getting mashed thrown from my d/f+roundhouse into low shorts. terrible. oh and i can’t even ultra through on those pad todays, so i pretty much lost a round trying to get the timing to ultra through them.
if i knew all of this i would have whipped out bison…cuz that shit woulda been fray, seriously…
So what your saying is, this guy used his X-Box home skills and came away with a brand new pad for his collection? Damn… talk about the “home” advantage/random factor. Now, if none of you guys were wearing your bandanas then that explains it.
Serious note- You guys were fortunate to compete for those who couldn’t attend/participate:annoy: so don’t feel down, especially since there are too many handicaps involved with in game store tournaments.

If the pads weren’t fucked up, it would have been wayyyyy different for all of us.
Kinda still disappointed that some scrub stole my pad that I coulda sold for around 20$ or so, I mean wtf…
I learned a lesson here somewhat…just because you win a tournament (round 1) it’s still best to improve your pad/lag tactics just in case the next one isn’t the same deal. Something definitely happened to those pads since the last time I was there…that was the deciding factor for most of SRK’s fate :sad: .

Sounds like you weren’t playing lame enough if you were getting hit with random Ultra. You already know Gamestop niggas gonna shoot the J. I barely pressed buttons, unless I was punishing.
When I got openings, I had no problem comboing, and I was punishing fireballs and Blanka Balls with Ultra…
Yeah it wasn’t the random factor, all SRK cats know how to just block and punish it. Only problem was, during that time, there was no punish due to how beyond busted the pads were. Two times I had him wide open, low short x 2 legs comes out but it doesn’t combo cuz the trigger felt delayed like shit.
The funny thing is, sometimes we would bait the uppercut, but the guy sucks so bad, that he uppercutted a lot later than a reversal would and then hit w/e we stuck out and baited with lol.
But yeah, fuckg that Sagat scrub up @ Round 3 for me plz…preferably with Bison, cuz I woulda stunned him all 3 rounds if I used him.

Punishing with low shorts into legs… why? You know what I punished with 90% of the time? Sweep. That’s it. I did low forward-> super a couple times, and jab x2, low forward xx super once or twice.
I beat 2 Sagats free by moonwalking and letting them kill themselves. Easy.
I guess the pads were fucked up everywhere. Slogan and Sagat scrub for #1 in NoVA…something is wrong.

well ive only played sfIV on pad, so i have an advantage…that and i played only rog who is retarded… i actually almost lost the first round cause i was missed some clutch headbutt xx ultras.
the tournament is pretty stupid… with 1 set, single elimination, anyone can really win… which im hoping i can win with that bullshit in round 3, but when people actually have sticks, i may be fuxed :{
wtf i got a yellow one… id idnt even know there were different colors til i saw the guy today with red… damnit.
ive heard that at round 3 they supply sticks though, no need for pad anymore if its true.

Damn everyone doing all these complex strats. All i did was play footsies with these scrubs now im on to round3. I got a yellow and green one im going to wear them both at the same time people next torney.

Yo, I think you were supposed to come to my GameStop today, because we were short 1 guy today.
Either way, Burningfist and I got top 2 at my GameStop. Apparently at Round 3, my GameStop is supposed to have the band Entertainment System come play live music for us, get food/drinks, etc. Round 3 is gonna be poppin’!! And apparently we can bring anyone we want to this, so any and all are welcome to come!
Also, word on the street is that we can use sticks for Round 3. I’ve heard this from 2 people already. IS THIS TRUE!?
Anyway, best of luck to everyone in Round 3. I’ll probably see some familiar faces at my GameStop because it’s holding all three rounds there! :))

Btw, I just read this thread and you people all seem EXTREMELY cocky… “Round 3 automatic win”? Come on… get real. You realize there’s a whole bunch of good players out there who don’t post here right? I’m sure the % of good players that post on SRK is probably less than 50%.
