You think your problem is maybe that you’re not FAMILIAR with playing on the floor? Seems like you’ve tried to do it a few times, don’t like it… and now never play b/c of it.
I used to be a total spaz, but playing on japanese sticks on console helped me keep my motions tight and more precise.
I know you’ve been around awhile… but the amount of excuses you’re making makes you sound kinda n00bish.
Yeah…I understand some people may know you better than we do (skisonic apparently???) but come on dude…there’s plenty of people at C3 that also would prefer an arcade cab (I wouldn’t mind Japanese cabs actually) but to make that one of the main focuses for not coming…I dunno man.
I understand the driving situation and all and not everyone has money but…if you can drive to B Chan’s house to play games you can get to the tourney. He should be hooking you up. Park your car at his house and have his boys hook you up the rest of the way.
It would be nice if we could all play on arcade cabs again but unless you live near TGA or CF…just can’t do it anymore. At least when it comes to CVS2. You have no choice but console gaming for that game now. Console gaming is the new thing now and even Evo has completely made the switch to console gaming. Just gotta teach yourself to ride that bike. Even just one time to see what’s up. Your Lagbox Live boys want ya down man. :lol:

That’s why i bought a jap stick. So i CAN play on the floor. My “excuses” may sound noobish, but it’s the truth. I don’t mind playing casuals, but i’m not gonna pay for gas and $10-$15 to enter a tourney i’m probably not gonna do well in, because i have to struggle with controls. If you wanna make the 2 hr drive out here to play me, then go for it.
I’m not understanding why people keep telling me this. If i can’t play properly then what’s the point in going?? When i go to an arcade tourney, i expect the controls to be in working order, if not, then i won’t play. It’s the same thing here, if i can’t perform, then don’t play. If C3 was in bmore, i’d go, but it’s not, and I work on weekends so i’m pretty limited on when i get to play.
Anyways, good shit earlier to bchan and rugal. If i keep playing like this i’ll definitely get back to where i used to be. If you guys are gonna come through to my place tonight, post here or send me a pm and i’ll give you my home number.
Yeah…workin on weekends suxorz. There’s a few people that don’t go to C3 cuz IRL ownz them on the weekends. If playing on console is absolutely futile for you in your mind then that’s cool. There definitely are people who have more or less swore off console and only play cuz they have to. You seem to have a lot of stuff owning you at once though and that’s understandable. I’m just sayin head down with the boyz at least one time just for shits if things ever work out.

Cali, you played at CF, those sticks suck ass, the buttons usually aren’t working, and most of the time there wasn’t anyone worth playing. If I was in your shoes I’d be WALKING to these people to play them. I’ve only gone to ONE C3, and yet that one alone was enough to show that MD / VA for much anything > NYC. That’s 100% truth, and it’s fucking retarded, but that’s how it is.

Almost. Obviously the Arcana Heart and Melty Blood scenes are going to be stronger up north. Although there are some solid MB players around here (BB Hood comes to mind).
But i LIKED the controls at CF, it was comfortable for me to play on. I never once complained about them because they were fine for me. If the sticks weren’t working i wouldn’t play. Not to mention the only time i went to CF was on fridays and saturdays, when everyone else was there. When i get to a decent level of execution playing on the floor and when i get TIME i’ll head down to C3.
