its still good its just not as good as before…its good for anti air. to run haggar on point you need on projectile assist and on assist to do after otg to hold them in place for pipe cancels spencer is really good for that and hes also crazy in ultimate. chris machine gun is a good assist for him too
Lariat is still really strong, just not as braindead as it used to be. The fact that it still does a soft knockdown also makes it an excellent tool for extending combos for certain characters.
If you want Haggar on point you really need a projectile assist with strong horizontal space control. Hulk actually fits pretty well in that spot because his Gamma Wave has very high durability and also has a pretty tall hit-box. Iron Man and Doom would probably be ideal to help extend combos and should both THC well. I’ve started using Frank and they’re not too shabby together either. Shopping Cart assist comes out stupidly fast.
Of course this will take a lot more lab time, I used Haggar/Deadpool since the beginning so I’ve barely started exploring my other options.
I’ll be running Haggar/Ghost Rider/Frank West. I plan to have Frank on point at first, then tag him out once he gets to Level 4-5 to let Haggar take point. Now knowing what I know, I’ll have Ghost Rider with the OTG assist and Frank with the shopping cart assist. …they should’ve given Ghost Rider that chain shrapnel move as an assist. That would be great! Oh well, I’ll play with the cards I’ve been dealt.
I know that I should have a ranged assist, but I like the sound of this team. I’ll see how things work come next week.
From Justin Wong’s tweets it seems like shopping cart is really good, a tatsu that keeps them grounded. So it might work well to help him get in. What’s Ghost Rider’s THC super? I have a feeling it’s the chain one and if it is that probably goes for long enough to take multiple pictures with frank in a THC to get easy max level, sounds like a solid team.
I’m thinking Haggar/Spencer/Doom at the moment, prefer level 2 XF Spencer with plasma beam to help him get in, he still does enough damage and with zip-line speed increases he’ll be more mobile, and Doom is always a solid backup.
You should have some solid THC options with that team and both Spencer and Doom assists should be sufficient to extend Haggar’s combos after OTG. Also Doom is goodlike so that will help balance out the fact that you’re using Haggar lol.
It’s a shame the ground pipe doesn’t hit overhead, but I’m sure we’ll manage without it. Dunno about anyone else, but invincibility on RFF is gonna help me a ton.
My Haggar/Spencer/Trish(Arthur, Taskmaster) team looks quite a bit improved with this update… 2 more days to test it out.
With this team, you might want to consider Frank (Cart) / GR (whip that causes wallbounce) / Haggar (Pipe). Off of a Day -5 Frank BNB you can use something like c.LMHS sj.MMHS OTG camera + Pipe groundbounce -> s.S sj.MHS OTG camera -> wallbounce assist s.S sj.HS d+H to fall faster -> THC w/ ghostrider, whatever that assist is might give you enough time to drink + camera and then tag out to haggar. my friend uses frank/nemesis/GR and uses nemesis’s ground bounce assist, but the difference is his THC with nemesis lasts long enough for frank to drink up for level 4 or 5. idk if ghostrider’s THCs last long enough for that, but it’s something to experiment with once you get your copy.
Lariat assist may be better as it does more hits for more PP and Frank gets access to his own ground-bounce later on. I am intrigued by the idea to use GR’s wall-bounce assist as I was considering using him on my team and it will help Frank and Haggar extend their combos.

Well not sure if you’ve played yet but it seems like hitstun in this game, especially with assists makes everything drop… You’d have to be really tight in your combos to make that work since Haggar doesn’t hard knockdown anymore. With that said I really like frank with nemesis but that’s a different topic
Lariat assist still does soft knockdown so they can’t pop out. You just need to make sure you time your launcher correctly so you don’t hit them too high. Actually in the corner it was super easy to do a BnB with Frank, call Lariat assist and OTG camera, then relaunch for another BnB. The problem is that Lariat lacks horizontal range so you have to wave-dash, call assist, OTG when mid-screen and the timing for that seems incredibly strict.
Which is why I’m excited about the possibilities GR’s long-range wall-bounce assist offers.
Just tested Haggar’s lariat assist properly.
It’s still fully invincible and still ‘combobreaks’ any standing or airborne opponent.
However, it now runs out of invincibility very quickly, so it no longer does really stupid shit like going all the way through a low slide and hitting the opponent as they stand back up again during the recovery. It also loses to superarmour since it can only hit once before the invincibility runs out.
It’s also easier to punish, since the opponent only has to wait for one spin to finish before it’s safe to press buttons, whereas before he’d just stand there spinning through anything and everything for what felt like forever.
So is he invincible as soon as you call him until he spins once or takes one hit? All I know is he’s easier to punish, not sure exactly when, though.
I’ll do testing if needed but otherwise I just stopped caring about this game in a serious fashion. damn this game makes me salty.
We need specific stuff. Haggar’s Rapid fire fist makes people pop out at any given time. I mean I land the initial hit, and the opponent is liable to fall out on the initial hit after it successfully lands. its retarded. your opponent is getting rewarded for you successfully hitting them.

Properly timed Jam Session will hit after OTG. I don’t have the execution to see if Pipe empty Cancel to Hoodlum L works.

Yeah, Haggar basically runs out of invincibility just a few frames after he sticks his arms out. If he misses with the first half-spin he can just be smacked out of it.
It’s still just as ridiculous as ever when he’s on point though.

Damn…no overhead pipe. Lariat now being vulnerable after the first hit sucks as well. At least Sentinal drones dissappear after Sentinal is hit, so no need to worry about long active frames projectiles.Gonna miss spinning through half/three quarts of everyones’ projectile hyper and knocking Spencer out of his Bionic Am. At least I can now cancel it into RFF for that extra invincibility and combo if they are near.
Can someone check how long the RFF invincibility last and if Hulk’s gamma wave assist is viable for Haggar’s otg midscreen.
Daaaaaamn… Haggar deals an absolute ton of damage off pretty much anything.
(Self OTG + Assist + Relaunch) x 2 = very big numbers.
Also RFF loses its invincibility immediately after the first punch.
