Has anybody messed with iron man repulsar blast assist with mikes dp.m ? would imagine that if you time it right it could create a ghetto incoming unblockable grab set-up.?
Haggar’s RFF requires you to tap rapidly WHILE activating instead of during. Only super that can do that, and has different effects based on mashing.
It is like this because haggar was originally the only character who could mash hyper in vanilla.
I understand that. I can consistently get to lvl 2 mashing but it’s rare for me to get to lvl 3 mashing. I tried using a button mapped to LMH but it seems like it only counted as one button press since it was all at once, or maybe I’m just bad at mashing.
Mashing in sequential order works best, its hard to guarantee since it is mashing but i’ve found that works best. try plinking fast
It counts as only one button press. What I do is rapidly slide back and forth between two face buttons on the pad. (L and H in my case). I always get the red aura hyper this way.

Hey Guys,
Back with another episode. This one is 100% Haggar matches.
Hope you guys enjoy
I had a Haggar question for y’all: How do you feel about pairing Haggar with a pinning assist (Chun lightning legs, Frank ToS, Doom rocks, Ammy’s ice, etc.). My theory is that it should be a good fit. When an opponent blocks Haggar’s standard attack string (something that ends in Hoodlum Launcher L), that leaves Haggar right in front of the opponent sans the use of push blocking. This would be a good time to drop a pinning assist and attempt to mix up the opponent.
Also, while I can’t speak for all of them, I know the Frank ToS assist is great for combo extensions.
I mainly ask because I have the idea of Haggar lariat / Frank ToS / Arthur Daggers for a team.
Advice?
It took me a while to get a video haha reset is at :14 but here it is:

Haggar lariat, Deadpool Quick Work, Doom Beam/Missles
Bare in mind play styles vary from person to person, but with that team against cap and iron man I’d recommend:
- use hidden missiles just before super jumping in. It will help keep cap on the ground blocking and limit his shield throw zoning, while avoiding uni beam all together. (be wary of spacing, the trade off in this situation is that he may be able to hyper punish doom if too close/ dhc into iron man)
- use doom beam to cover approach/ while tech rolling forward, should trade with cap’s shield allowing for easier movement. Plus doom beam causing a tech roll on landing so keep the pressure until trapped in corner.
- play defensive and have cap come in. Use doom assist for chip, and when close almost every cap does the cartwheel mix-up, use lariat. where you go with lariat is up to you based on situation.
- be careful of the haggar ironman match up. Repulsor blast blows up a lot of haggars openings
Last I checked haggar has Advantage on blocked Hoodlum L. I feel his best assists are anti air assists (jam session) to get people outta the air a get me in assist and a combo extenstion assist
Kaneblueriver was on last night’s runback. He had some lovely setups for level 3. Hope y’all saw that
Holy crap, that blocked lariat into lvl 3 on an incoming character is dirty as all hell
edit: Still watching, blocked hulk hyper? Lvl 3 grab dhc! Much props
Ok gentlemen Im looking into picking up the mayor for either my dante/akuma team or dante/hawkeye(which ever assist works better for haggar). I guess my first question is do y’all think that would be a good team for haggar? Like would it give him the ability to combo off his lariat, his command grab, his air throw and his lvl 3? Secondly which dante assist should I run on that team? Im really unsire since I can see any of them except jam session working for the mayor. Finally, who should be my anchor? Akuma or hawkeye? I play both so I can switch between them but I was wondering which one y’all recommend.
dante can certainly help people get out of the sky with Jam Session. Hawkeye can help him get in. Akuma tatsu might take some lab work I think but is a better anchor.
Thanks for the advice, Densuo. I know Dante’s Jam Session is a great assist for Haggar in general, but I think I can handle air attention with Haggar. Nothing quite as rewarding as turning an air throw with Haggar into a dead character. And Arthur’s daggers have been working really well for me for a “get in” assist, and both the daggers and Franks ToS work great for combo extensions. I’m just torn on the utility of ToS versus the shopping cart.
just want to say thank you to all the posts and players that i’ve been reading up on, placed 5th at a tourney last weekend. was one touch away from placing at least 3rd. thanks guys.
