Hey Guys, I have that f.t.10 I mentioned earlier up on the youtubes. the link is in the signature.
pretty solid play. hope those who watch enjoy
So I found some Haggar tech with a lock down assists in the corner. Its not really new tech because I remember some video on the front page talking about something similar but I dont remember enough about it to look for it.
So I had Doom in the corner and he was jumping, so I called frank’s cart assist which had him locked down in the corner while he fell to the ground. I used M Hoodlum launcher which hit right as Doom hit the ground while he was still in block stun from the cart coming at him. The hoodlum hit and I got an unblockable combo out of the deal. I don’t have the ability to record so give this a shot and let me know if its working for you. It should work with other lock down assists.
I believe you’re referring to the ‘landing frames’ canceling blockstun, allowing for throws. I think MarlinPie demosntrated this with Cold Star + viper for some fairly inescapable corner mixups.
Yeah, thats the one. This has been more useful than I thought it would be. It doesnt seem like a common occurrence but now that Im looking for it, I have been more successful.
has it been mentioned yet that an air to air headbutt (on counter hit only) causes a unique MVC2ish knockdown? they land in a hard knockdown and recover with a roll, yet you can otg the downed player with normals into a full combo. it doesn’t make sense, they are laying down but crouching normals pick them up. almost in the same sense that someone in a crumple state who almost down can be struck with standing normals that don’t look like they should hit. but then again this is current crapcom programming so i can’t be all to surprised.
I’ll provide a video if need be
This has been possible since vanilla. On counter-hit air to air causes an knockdown that allows for normal moves to otg that regularly dont, similar to the bolo for deady and trap arrow for hawkeye. Counterhit on grounded causes dizzy state, like she-hulks command grabs as well. Headbutt is a great move, has a ton of stun outside of these other great effects, and is a great OS for air throws, just poor range. Still very under-utilized.
i noticed it back in vanilla but never bothered to experiment with it at all. it’s almost like an aerial crumple state or something
i love headbutt OS at the start of the match (while pressing assist at the same time). 1 of 4 things always happens:
A. i get an air throw
B. the throw gets broken, but they get hit or pinned by my assist while still in the air
C. i get a counter-hit headbutt, then just raw launch them off the ground (or use cr.L, cr.M, f.H ground bounce, launch)
D. they picked Hulk, so both me and my assist get smacked with st.H
keep in mind, this is only in the “come at me bro” situation where you’re both pressing up against each other before the round starts (so hot).
if they manage to get a little distance from you then you’re at risk to eat a raw S (especially against popular “raw S” chars like Vergil, Nemesis, Wesker, Hawkeye, Frank)
Here’s a sneaky way to land Haggar’s Level 3 (I’ve personally landed it a few times already):
When one of your opponent’s character’s dies, and your waiting for the next one to come out, do Hoodlum Launcher M before they come out so you’ll be right behind them when they land and then you can do a Level 1 or Level 3…I only posted this because I’ve won a few games with this and want to help out fellow Haggar players
Where’s a good video showing the Violent Axe M crossup on incoming character? Currently I’m doing Violent Axe L to crossup but my follow up drops alot after it.
I don’t have a vid but I have been doing Axe M to cross up but I stopped following it up with S and lariat after instead to follow up for a combo. I lose a bit of damage this way but I’m thinking its worth it right now to be more consistent.
Speaking of Violent Axe. I tried the assist today… I think it may just be good with teleporters.
Tried it with Dante. I suspect it would be good with Vergil’s Behind teleport.
Here’s a new (I think) Haggar reset but unfortunately it’s team specific. I THINK you can make it work with other teams but I’m not 100% sure:
:l: -> -> Hoodlum Launcher :l: ->
->
-> :h: -> Air Steel Pipe :h: -> Hoodlum Launcher :l: ->
->
-> :h: -> :s: -> Wesker OTG Assist -> Jump and do Wild Swing in the air while opponent is getting shot -> Call Dormammu’s Dark Hole assist -> Crouching :h: OTG -> Cancel into Pipe -> Hoodlum Launcher :l: (while opponent is getting hit by Dark Hole) ->
-> :h: -> Wild Swing
It works best in the corner IMO…it’s pretty awesome when you land it hope it helps someone
So is the reset after the wesker otg? I guess while they get otg’d and recover you jump and wild swing? If that is so, I would go with an air backdrop instead, that way it cant be blocked and is still combo-able. I do something similar with Frank’s cart assist. I used to reset with H Hoodlum which worked best in the corner, now I find that jumping into a back drop is MUCH more consistent in the corner than hoodlum. I also feel like back drop resets demoralize your opponent more than other resets, of course I have no evidence of this but I’ve had more people give up on me after back drops than anything else.
Also, I doubt your doing this but I wouldn’t end the combo with a wild swing, if you dont have available assists to continue and a thc wont kill, you can always just Drop Kick xx Pipe xx L Hoodlum just to get another hit and close the space between you and your opponent.
No it’s not after the OTG, you Wild Swing while they’re getting shot (continuing the combo) and then do Haggar’s OTG into Dark Hole and after the Hoodlum Launcher L (while they’re getting hit by Dark Hole) you do the M H and then Wild Swing…It sucks UMvC3 doesn’t have a replay mode or else I could make a video
Wait so where is the actual reset, or is this just one continuous combo?

My original team was Haggar Chris Task. You can certainly try Tasky as he can cover for both Haggar and Chris bad matchups. He can help Haggar get in and help Chris chip. Since they both build meter a plenty Tasky will be able to do quick and dirty punishes off of throws or counters for minimal effort.
It’s right after the M H after Dark Hole
I’ve been playing Haggar for a couple months now but how do you fully mash out RFF on pad? I can never get it.
So this is done at super jump height after a relaunch with hoodlum? If so, I would suggest doing M,M>delayed backdrop instead. I was playing around with something similar to this, relaunching with hoodlum then just waiting for them to recover and wild swinging. This definitely catches some people off guard but if your fighting anyone with some smarts, they will block the wild swing. Backdrop is unblockable and therefore much harder to escape than wild swing. I suggest M,M instead of M,H because I think H may push them too far away to grab them with the backdrop. I could be wrong but give it a try, dont forget to post your results.
Poryon, I dont play on pad but I have heard of some people assigning 2 or 3 attacks to a trigger. There are things on pad that my big hands cant imagine dealing with.
