Mass Effect 2. Somebody's getting shot and thrown out a window

I hope to Christ you’re right. I swear, it’s like BioWare reached into my head and pulled out all the sexual fantasies that A2M didn’t use to make Rubi Malone.

Sidesteps drool patch at Yuna’s feet To be honest Subject Zero creeps me out…chick is batshit crazy…do not want. On a side note I am loving all the class revamps…my Vanguard is going to waste so many people… Has anybody heard any word on SecuROM for this one. I want it on PC, but after ME I just wanted to bounce the game off of whoever thought that crap was a good idea’s head. Also has anybody heard about any fill in for the past two years? I’m just a tad bit worried that the two year gap will just get hand waved over.

The two-year patch is going to be filled by a number of internal and external media. For starters, the novel Mass Effect: Ascension takes place between the two games and is largely centered around Cerberus. In addition, the game doesn’t actually start two years later. It begins shortly after the end of the first Mass Effect, then a profound event leads to a time-skip.
They’ll tell you what happens. This is BioWare. They’re anal as hell about this kind of thing.

Although this is spoilers, this information has been released as the events leading up to the start of ME2.

events leading to ME2

[details=Spoiler]
Shortly after ME1, The Normandy is attacked and destroyed. Most of the crew make it out alive, Shepard is killed. Fast forward two years later Cerberus revives Shepard’s dead corpse through the Lazerus Project. ME2 begins.[/details]

But yea other stuff outside of Shepard happens, like the collectors and Cerberus, and the advancement of biotics.

WTF is this shit I read about tali not being romantic option in ME2? And what’s up up with lawson’s lumpy face?

She probably won’t be.

Why? She was by far the most likable character in the first one and her trailer made her look all interested in Sheppard. Damn that sucks.

Does anyone know if that cerberus card for DLC is only with the collectors edition or is it standard?

I saw this fan made trailer and it’s pretty damn good.

Yeah? Well, I guess that’s just, like…your opinion, man.

My personal belief is that the devs thought it wouldn’t make sense to have relationships that don’t work on a biological level. The reason why Liara was a LI was that she was in fact compatible with humans. Obviously any race outside of human or asari would never work, no matter how emotionally attached you are.

They made a point of the relationship being an actual meaningful one instead of a one night stand with a crew member or alien.

That makes no sense to me since I read that fem sheps can get with thane who some sort of frog man.

Why doesn’t it make sense? Many reptiles and amphibians have penises and reproduce sexually.

As disgusting as it sounds, human and alien relations are just as plausible as human and animal relations are. I’m not one for dabbling into that area, I just settled for sexy Ashley, but if others want to venture onto the green, blue, or purple side of the scale, that’s on them.

He’s a drell. There will undoubtedly be a canonical explanation for that just as there was for Liara. The asari aside, xenophilic relationships are as uncommon in Mass Effect canon as incestuous relationships are in the real world.

EDIT: Reading an update by the BioWare crew, I might have been mistaken…I suppose all any of us can do is wait to play the game.

Tali had a body on her tho…love the petite, curvy types, lol

Well, Tali and xenophiles cross your fingers

Possible romances for characters in ME1, seeing as how the available romances were already human, one can only guess…

As far as relationships go, we have to keep in mind that humanity is still really new to the galatic stage. Most non humans are likely just as freaked out being with a human as the average Terra Firma party member would be about being with a non human. Personally I would say that the asari would be the most ok with being with a human because they shun their own anyway. Plus Liara was both a virgin and an introvert who has likely been on her own on barren planets for the past 50 years, of course she would have no problem with being with Shepard. Liara even comments on how close ‘she’ feels to Shep and how it is a little confusing (you know I really wish they would make use of some sort of gender neutral pronouns for the asari… ‘it’ would be just plain rude) plus Liara was even struck by how fast (and how hard) she fell for Shep. Shepard is as open minded as we let her/him be. To be honest the sheer human arrogance blind-sided me a lot in ME. I just found it odd that there were so many humans whining about a bigger part and humanity had not even known about the Citadel Races until they found the Prothean tech in 2148. The game starts around 2183 or so; that is an extremely short time period to be demanding special treatment (or to be xenophobic when you are the obvious minority). Then again… humanity tends to be an somewhat arrogant lot as seen by our own history and treatment of each other.

Also thanks for the heads up on the story for ME2 guys, I’ve been more interested in the gameplay mostly and aside from knowing about the general direction of the game I hadn’t looked into the gap itself. Looks like I need to start reading my copy of Ascension soon. Also excuse the rambling, I am big lore fan for this gameverse and to make matters worse I’m half asleep at work.

The behavior of humans in Mass Effect is extremely irritating to me. It always has been. This is probably just an extension of the Western role-playing game doctrine that I’ve found is somewhat commonplace. Humans are usually a bunch of fucking pricks in almost any Western role-player. Just look at Dragon Age. Fuck, look at Warcraft.

Glad to know I’m not the only person that was bothered by it. The thing is at least with DA there is centuries of occupation on both sides (the elves I’m sure you know about but also the crap with Orlais and even to a lesser extent the Wardens themselves) to “justify” it. In ME it’s like; “Hi I just moved in and I love the neighborhod. Except for all you people who are living in it right now… gtfo.” Made NO sense to me. The first contact war doesn’t count because…that was our fault anyway. Which is why I wanted toss Ash out of an Airlock for the first half of the game.

I thought Ashley was charming…eventually.

Oh, also, here’s hoping that sniper rifles in Mass Effect 2 don’t fucking suck like they do in the first one.

Oh don’t get me wrong Ash does grow on you, but I also think it is the Shepard effect. The more paragon or at least open minded with her Shep is, the more she realizes being a shrew is not the way to prove her family name. As for the sniper rifles what was wrong with them? I’ve only ever played as a Vanguard or Adept, but Garrus and Ash seemed to be ok with taking out geth on the other side of a compound.

From an asthetic point of view I did like how the zoom of a weapon would change once you were trained in it, but is it me or was it kind of … odd that unless you were a soldier you were walking around with a full gun rack with guns you couldn’t use?

It looked ok in the videos.

Yup, agree. In ME 1 I was like ‘ya no wonder some aliens don’t like us, we act like pricks…’
