Mass Effect 2. Somebody's getting shot and thrown out a window

The DLC has a new race in it, and I’m wondering if that race would be in part 2. It’s probably got some cool character development in the story, and I also need whatever extra stuff is put in there, so I can get through Insanity.

The new race is the batarians. They’re mentioned a lot in the game itself. If you have the Colonist background, the batarians are the ones who fucked up your home and killed your parents, and if you have the War Hero background, then the batarians were your enemies on Elysium and you actually have the chance to encounter their leader again, sort of like a “memory lane” piece.

As for getting through Insanity, there’s nothing in the DLC that’s better than what you get in the game itself. Depending on which class you play and how well you allocated your talents, Insanity can range in difficulty. I know that on my level fifty-someodd Vanguard, it was actually pretty damn easy, but then again, my entire squad had full Master Spectre weapons by that time.

I wonder how much I would miss if I can’t import my ME 1 save, I cleared ME 1 three times with different classes. But I lost all my saves when I format my comp a year ago.

I remember reading something about Mass Effect 2 allowing you to choose certain things about the events of the first game, such as the fates of characters like the Council, Wrex, and others.

It’s supposed to be direct from your save game, you just choose whcih save game you want for ME2.

The question is will Mass Effect 2 still have those ridiculously long ass elevator rides. I mean, I loved Mass Effect, but I abso-fucking-lutely DREADED going into an elevator in that fucking game. I’d try to do EVERY SINGLE quest I could in a single area before having to go up or down an elevator.

Once I stepped in one of those dastardly contraptions, I’d go make a sandwich. By the time I finished eating it, I MAY have reached my desired floor. And god help me if I went down an elevator and then realized I had to do something else first on the floor I was just on…

Still, awesome game. I guess they needed to throw in a “load time” SOMEWHERE…

^_-;

It’s already confirmed that the elevator rides will be replaced with significantly shorter loading screens which display graphics and, at times, random facts about the game and the universe in which it takes place.

At first I was a little perturbed over the ammo thing (can’t wait to hear how they handle that diddy in the main story line). Then I saw that weapons actually do realistic damage now, actually earning an M rating this time, and promptly forgot why I was upset

I actually like the idea of ammo. Even from a story standpoint it’s a bit silly to have an infinite power source. Also I always felt it was a bit… well too videogamish to just always buy the best weapon and sell the others. If it doesn’t just end up being unlimited anyway this will be cool for forcing people to keep a backup or two.

I always picked Ruthless.

My insanity playthough I started at level 1 with an Adept class and Sniper achievement. Needless to say there was alot of waiting around and recharging stuff, I’m at level 23 right now with full Bastion points. I went straight from the Citadel to the Feros and got out at level 19, shit was crazy.

I’ve never once picked Ruthless. I can never bring myself to be evil or mean in a video game. Like, even looking at the dialogue options where you can tell Liara off makes my lip quiver. I’m such a pussy like that.

But yeah, Ruthless has you killing batarian enemies that surrendered to you, so your character knows what batarians are even if you, the player, do not. That’s one thing I’ve always loved about Mass Effect. Shepard is always a very unique character with a very profound personality.

The Batarian stuff didn’t have much to do with the main story did it(I had completed it over the summer and just didn’t remember them) and just recently got back into this on my Insanity play through(like a big refresher for part 2), and I didn’t do any of the Assignments for the most part only the Missions up until now.

I like being Ruthless in this game, because of the dialogue options and what happens. Like my Shep punching people in the face and stuff. And the snide remarks, and that shit goes hand and hand with how Jennifer Hale voices Shep and the looks on her face.

Most of the time games like these I prefer to play neutral.

I think that the Ruthless thing just let you get a taste of what your character’s reputation is. War Hero is the military background that gives you the most shit going down in the actual story.

There’s not much new here, but it does discuss certain things that video footage only touched on briefly(if at all), so it’s worth four minutes of your time if you’re following the developments for Mass Effect 2.

I’m sorry for triple-posting, but oh, shit.

The full trailer is hard as nails.

ya… it looks ok

Well IGN was putting up videos from the first few hours.

There’s one line of dialog in this video that pretty much can explain the terminator Shepard picture.

FUCK!

I want my face back, because that video just completely blew it off. Holy shit, I want that game this very second, I don’t want to wait.

I’m just glad they’re cleaning up the framerate. It was so abysmal in the first game that firefights with more than 2 enemies was disorienting.

…rock collecting.
