Mass Effect 2. Somebody's getting shot and thrown out a window

So, as a Sentinel about to go into Insanity, what loyalty bonus should I get?

Reave

Either Reave or Armor-Piercing Ammo.

I’m doing a soldier on insanity, is warp ammo better than armor piercing?

They’re designed to damage two different things, but the difference is that a Soldier already has Incendiary Ammo, which is an anti-armor measure anyway(not as good as Armor-Piercing ammo against armor, but it fucks krogan up fierce). I’d recommend Warp Ammo.

Thanks again. I got a few points for it during my first playthrough but I would say I only got something like 5 or 6. 9 times out of 10 when I was coming up against somebody with a barrier I didn’t have someone with Warp with me.

I may just replay the ending a few times to get the achievement. I’ll keep Warp Ammo for my Insane game.

As of 11:27EST I’m currently downloading the new Cerberus stuff, thanks for the heads up.

I’m using sentinel what’s the better evolution :

guardian
health+20
power recharge time+30
paragon/renegade+100

raider
health+15
power recharge time+20
paragon/renegade+70
power damage+15

Power recharge time bonus is ridiculous, literally you can use warp every two seconds, you can throw at the same rate as the sniper rifle fires. Sentinel Guardian literally will never need to use bullets.

I went with guardian being able to use throw every 3 seconds (haven’t upgraded it yet at all still working on tech armor, then warp ammo) is fucking awesome. Now I have an even harder choice:

assault armor
recharge time 12 seconds
lasts until destroyed
shield strength+75
energy pulse radius+18
energy pulse damage+100
energy pulse force+240
energy pulse shield boost+50

power armor
recharge time 12 seconds
lasts until destroyed
shield strength+100
energy pulse radius+12.5
energy pulse damage+50
energy pulse force+150
power damage bonus+15

I took power, your armor is always on and really doesn’t break that much. But if your play style is very close range you might want assault, pick the one fits your play style.

Damn! I got my answer and then some lol.

On any mission where your opponents don’t have shields or barriers, Miranda is pretty fucking useless. I’m taking her right now to rescue Mordin on Hardcore and she’s more or less doing fuck all other than adding her passive damage bonus to my main man Massani.

Her Warp is good for keeping the Vorcha and Krogan from regenerating health.

I almost always have Miranda in my teams with my Infiltrator. I usually group with her and either Grunt or Zaeed, and the amount of health and damage that we get from her Cerberus Officer ability is very noticeable (especially Grunt’s, he’s a freaking tank with her ability and Krogan vitality). Warp handles both barriers and armor, and on Insanity difficulty, the majority of enemies have armor, in addition to barriers and shields. Her damage isn’t that great, but the damage my character and Grunt/Zaeed do is more than enough to make up for her deficit.

I guess it depends on what class you’re playing, but at least for my infiltrator, she is a must-have for my team.

I play Infiltrator as well, and I can certainly see why Miranda is the best squad mate for the class. I just really dislike her as a character, frankly, and I’m not about to use a character I can’t stand in a single-player game, no matter how good she is. I didn’t do it with Ashley in the first game and I won’t do it now with this obnoxious fuckin’ broad.

Just ran through Veteran with my paragon infiltrator. The last couple missions I took Thane and Legion. 3 sniper rifles was like cheating, every encounter went down sooo fast. It was balanced out though. Died whenever the fights didn’t go as planned or if a shotgunner broke through the line and my stealth hadn’t recharged.

She is most definitely going to be my insanity runthrough character. I’ve beaten it so far with her, a Vanguard, and a Sentinel, and Infiltrator was by far the most effective. Before I start it though, I’m going through with my renegade soldier, and am trying to fail as hard as possible without losing Shepard during the last mission. I really want Mass Effect 3 to go ‘wow you’re kinda a fuckup’. I doubt i’ll like soldier more than sniper for insanity though.

I wouldn’t recommend Vanguard for the higher difficulties. Charging and shotgunning is fun, but you’re just beating your head against a wall. You’re supposed to avoid getting that close for anything, and it’s playstyle requires you to. It’s like adding a plus sign on whatever difficulty you’re on.

Sentinel is really viable for higher difficulties. They went from wimpy support caster to Indestructible Space Paladin. Freely recharging shields and knocking guys around with brainpower was fun but slow. I recommend upgrading your weapon training to sniper rifle. It’s semi-automatic and with your super-shields let you unload a whole clip before you lose your armor.

Infiltrator just fits the GoW-ish gameplay perfectly. Short invisibility that increases damage and gives you more than enough room to line up a headshot. Time-slow whenever you go into scoped mode. When guys get close, you pop stealth and run to cover that’s further back. All incredible advantages in a game that favors cover so heavily. Dies quickly though, but most of the time you aren’t getting hit. It’s like Akuma in space-opera RPG form.

New games coming out so I’ll try to finish my third play through before. Did Soldier on Vet first then Infiltrator on Hardcore. Running with Engineer on Insanity now. Used the widow sniper rifle as Inf w/ tungsten ammo and was able to one shot Collectors. Pretty beast.

My team mates are usually Mordin and Miranda. Miranda with the party buffs and overload/warp, and Mordin with Heavy Incinerate which I find to be very useful. Legion is good too when he gets to use his own widow rifle but you get him so late into the game you really only get to use him for 1-2 missions. (I do everything before the point of no return).

Should also add ME2 Save Editor is amazing. Added resources so I don’t have to waste time scanning. Or if you don’t really care can give yourself more skill up points, and you can use it to respec your squad in case you mess up leveling some of their skills.

Currently playing through the game on Hardcore as a female Solider. Is it me or are there more enemies? And krogans are scarier now. :looney:

I’m doing insanity with a sentinel and good lord that last battle on horizion was retarded. Why are the ai bots so damn stupid. I have to park them at the other end of the level just to make sure they dont get killed. I did that whole final mission solo. lol
