I’ve always thought the series is set up perfectly for a tactical shooter/squad with multiplayer in mind. Even if you don’t want to do classes necessarily the same as in ME1/2, a load out system similar to what you have in Vegas 2 customization wise would even fit. Armor, guns, and of course the biotic/electronic abilities, would done right, lead to a very fun and deep game with a plethora of customization. Add to that the cover system the game already has that could be even more streamlined for good times.
You could lift Terrorist Hunt straight from Vegas/Vegas 2 for basically endless fun with two to three other people, more if you design the levels well enough. Let alone if you added secure objective(s), hostage(s), defend XYZ, etc. modes to a terrorist hunt copy. That alone would probably make great DLC for ME2, let alone an outright new game.
Add in a decent storyline for a campaign to be played with a squad of three or four characters, all of which could then be controlled by AI or friends/random people online. I’d imagine if BioWare was behind it they would find this easier to implement and do given what they’ve already done. Can’t imagine it wouldn’t sell if not rushed out the door either.
The idea of a more general shooter though, might have potential. Trying to make something more in line with Modern Warfare 2 might be promising or might turn into hot ass gameplay wise. With all the unlocks you could basically lift from that game/series for customized “classes” from weapons and abilities, that’d be a positive though. Then again, something more alone the lines of the Battlefield series may or may not be something worth trying as well. The idea of lifting, throwing, slamming, hacking, etc. giant structures against 64 people with your 63 teammates could be fun.
The best part of this thought exercise is that it’s likely not even pointless. With EA owning BioWare would it really be surprising to see offshoots of ME to milk as much money as possible from the series? They’ve already said ME will continue in one shape or form past the initial trilogy. Good or Bad Mass Effect could be the Next Tom Clancy’s X series.
Yes, she feeds my fish as well. I wanted to get the PC version, but my old ME 1 save file is on my 360, so I ended up getting that version.
I’m about to start my second playthrough with my infiltrator, and I’m unsure of which bonus power I should pick up. I’m thinking about getting Warp Ammo or Armor-Piercing Ammo, but Reave also looks pretty nice. Any other infiltrators here have any suggestions?
Thats because you chose improper squad leaders for the second team, I had loyal tali die in another playthrough because i chose the improper 1st squad leader.
Samara and Tali do not have individual upgrades.
Extra shields are pretty useful, but only enough to for you to run to cover. Reave is a pretty broken ability as not only does it remove all forms of protection it heals you if both you and your enemy have no shields.
Yup

Gathering up all the loyalty missions for my current crew before I get Tali and the rest of the crew.
When do you get Legion? [/spoiler]
Lol… that was a joke but you can do it by simply spamming throw. Your throw will recharge before your enemy gets up so you just do it again and either shoot them or shoot other enemies while repeatedly throwing that one down (I usually only do this to a regular enemy that’s followed by husks because i don’t want the husks near me and I don’t want the other enemy shooting me).
I picked Jack to do the Biotic bubble thing (which, according to all the various wikis/tips that I’ve seen, is a valid choice), and someone (Samara) still died. I suppose her not having any upgrades didn’t affect it, but Jack had whatever biotic upgrades were available.
-shrug- in the end, I don’t really care, this was on my PC save, which I don’t plan on importing, and my 360 save… well, everyone died. I’m more interested in seeing how #3 handles that, so I’ll be importing that one for sure (that is, unless I start a new game+ on Insane).
aw. weak. oh well, I’m not terrible worried about it.
Besides a few passing mentions of various characters, it wasn’t like it completely changed the game. I did one import playthrough, and one non-import. Aside from the game assuming you failed more often than not, it played basically the same.
My import had all the same traits and decisions as default Shep, fail on being unique.
Also i noticed after your first playthrough, every playthrough after that gives you the huge money and resource bonus. That basically means you never get the chance to work from the bottom up, makes the starting missions really easy.
