Same shit will happen as always with ‘the big boys’… all say they aren’t gonna play it… then comes the next national and its j.wong vs yipes or whoever in the finals. They will play it b/c it’s paying out. In fact it’ll have likely the biggest payouts at a lot of tournaments. Happens every time… they’ll play maybe only at first for the money. Then they start losing to each other… creating hype… then they gotta go back to the lab and get better just so the money is there next time.

Just to set shit strait it is NOT the same engine. They used the resident evil 5 engine to make mvc3. TvsC doesn’t look even close to as good. Nor did it have the ability to graphics wise.
of course theyll play the new games, but people will alwas have sentimental faves.

How dare you COMPARE KOF to MvC2! KOF has 4 attack buttons!!! MvC3 has 6 attack buttons! LP MP HP and LK MK and HK…Press LP twice and you get a MP. You don’t press LP LP in KOF and get a MP in results. I also played Tatsunoko vs Capcom for my Wii as well… Don’t compre anything again. =/
That’s like me comparing HALO to Call of Duty…Yea, they are FPS but they aren’t the same fundamental and gameplay. MvC3 has the same gameplay as Tatsunoko vs Capcom and the layout as well. They come from the same PRODUCER.

Well guess what if you press C+D on almost every kof game you get an extra Strong attack… that doesnt mean it has 5 attack buttons jeez… If you pres Foward + A whit yashiro you get a Link attack… you could call those mediums aswell…

MvC3 has some pretty heavy shoes to fill. I’ll still buy it, but I’ll at least give it a month or so despite any initial misgivings. It’s definitely no MvC2, but why not play both?

You wont get far talking shit about marvel 2 here… prior to mvc2 there was no fighting game scene and hadn’t been a decent one since sf2:hf… it brought everything to the table. Calling it broken is to us… pointless… WE are the ones who went around breaking all the characters!! We like our marvel 2 crack broken. Besides you seen dante or sent go to town in 3?.. yea… might as well be magnus n sent from 2… actually sent deals way more dmg. It’s stupid as fuck. At least mvc2 sent needed 4 bars to kill you off with 1 combo… and even then often he couldn’t always.

It’s nice that there was some convenient idiot for you to attack. Seriously man, I don’t disagree with your sentiment, but you are presenting shit that just isn’t true. They are not the same engine. I don’t know why people who don’t understand this stuff (programming/game development related) start using the word “engine” all the damn time. It isn’t the same. Also the “launcher is 1 button” is a damn stupid argument. The quality of a game depends on the fact that the launcher isn’t crouching or down-forward? (ignoring that storm’s and other chars launcher is st.RH) There are things to not like about the game, but if that is all you can provide then it is good that you are preaching to the choir, because you aren’t presenting any good arguments.
There are things I don’t like, and I am missing a lot of stuff from real marvel, but there could be potential and I did have fun in the hours I spent. The combos on the front page are really damn cool, but if they don’t add a lot of damage or options then they are just effort for no reason. I don’t know where the game will go, but I am eager to see where it goes. If it doesn’t please me, then just like SF4 I won’t play it and just go back to playing mvc2 and GG every tournament anyway, and playing mvc2 every night. At least until I get sengoku basara on PSN with netplay :woot:

It’s from the same developer and why wouldn’t they use the same engine? They didn’t start from scratch and re-created a new engine. If they did, then Marvel vs Capcom 3 would of been different. This game is NOWHERE near the previous cross over games. This is more of a Tatsunoko vs Capcom’s world.
What makes Marvel vs Capcom 2 and previous game outstanding? Well, try to figure it out yourself cause I have no reason to explain why. I already spoke to a lot of good players and we all understand the difference.
Do I enjoy Marvel vs Capcom 3? Yes!
Do I feel the same as the previous cross over? No!
Will I make this a competitor level? Yes
