Captain marvels kid and Rick Jones had the most underrated comic in the early 2000s. It was a buddy cop series where marvel took over Rick’s body and they would trade places. Mad hijinks.

Except she got renamed as something else. I forgot what she goes by now.
Plus they didn’t do anything interesting with her since Secret Wars.

She got many names and each one was taken from her by another character who was also Captain Marvel.

Here’s a hot take from another forum:

We went to see Avengers finally for a late movie night…I thought Justice League was better. That movie was a half a chick flick in disguise…my family liked it tho.
Guess I am an outlier. I was happy to see deadly axe wielding.
Steppenwolf’s axe over Stormbreaker all day.

Is that from a lumberjack?

So Floridaman probably.

Sounds like a Gimpy review :eyes:

They had some pretty cool adventures. Like when Eternity died and the universe ended, but Entropy after having completed his function became the new Eternity.

Funny how Rick Jone’s girlfriend, Marlo, got together with Moondragon

but later on Moondragon got together with Marvell’s daughter Phylla-vell

She was hands down the best character in the movie. She made Brie look like a minimum wage extra during their scenes together.

I wonder how we gonna get Mar-Vell kids in the MCU since they gender flipped the character.

You mean a woman cant have kids?

Also shes an alien from a planet that was space traveling when humans were on the stone age.

Exactly. Couple that with the fact that one of our protagonists is the son of a planet. Gender flipping is the least of our issues.

Since she’s a woman I would expect her to have the kids. Hulkling won’t be a problem as he’s the only one who’s Mar-Vell biological kid. It’s Genis and Phyla that’s a challenge as they are artificial. I can’t see those two being her children due to their origins.

Who says they even have to be introduced? The MCU isn’t going to have everyone ever in them. They’re extremely specific when picking what characters they want introduced in the MCU.

Captain Marvel is going to be it’s own film franchise and bringing in characters related to the mantle will be important. Let’s face it, Carol doesn’t make much of her own history as Captain Marvel to draw from. Bringing characters like them in and re-conceptualizing them to fit MCU Carol would be the best bet. That’s what they had to do with Scott Lang’s Ant-Man.

Eh. Not every character related to or associated with said character needs to be introduced. It just gets too dumb and cluttered at that point.

Also MCU has had characters within the universe borrow concepts, stories and character personalities from other people who have taken up the mantle of a character. Almost nothing is “by the book” for lack of a better term.

I think at this point New Mutants will be a Disney+ exclusive…

When it comes to Carol it’s the best way to give her some supporting characters and villains. Carol doesn’t have any characters that she can claim as her own. What they do have is a bunch of characters associated with that mantle. That’s why I think those characters can be re-conceptualize. That alone will mean they will stray from their comic counterparts.

What a fucking joke.

Why don’t they just bury it in the ground or put it in their vault?

They should have just released it last year and been done with it.
It’s weird enough that Dark Phoenix is being released post Fox buyout but since the cost of that is much more than New Mutants I can kinda understand.

Delaying it to 2020 will only taint future projects.
