Marvel Studios | Hide Your Eyes, Hide Your Ears

The soundtrack is absolute fire. Also I love teenage Gwen. She’s a cutie. Nicholas Cage as Spider-Noir was great. Everything was great.

I find it wild that Gerard Way, who I grew up hating ending up helping create and write some of my favorite comic book characters, character runs and actual comics. His wife is super hot too. She’s the former bassist of one of my favorite bands, Mindless Self Indulgence

With the cast doing the press tour, one of the better Brie moments is with Jimmy Fallon playing Beat Saber

That was cool. Beat Saber added to list of games to get when I finally pull the trigger on VR.

Yondu’s sacrifice didn’t make any sense to me. Like, Quill is half Celestial which made him immortal but they immediately retconned that when they blew up Ego. Being half something just doesn’t disappear. Quill would still be half celestial. Yandu didn’t have to sacrifice himself. It was pointless and just hand fisted emotional dribble

Its a shame because yondu is arguably a more interesting character imho than drax or gamora

None of the guardians are interesting, imo. Maybe Rocket? Even then…I can easily take him or leave him. They’re probably the only marvel movies I outright hate. Them and Age of Ultron

I legit fell asleep on the 2nd guardians movie and don’t plan on finishing it.

Naw. They’re all fucking boring as shit and generally useless. Like, I love Batista and Bradley Cooper is great for rocket but that doesn’t make them interesting.

Just saw the movie this morning. My thoughts

Summary

Loved it overall. Very fun watch. If I’m being honest though I think I prefer Infinity War. It will be interesting to see where the MCU goes from here though.

I think Endgame checked all the plot hole boxes, but im still tired as fuck of time travel. Was hoping it didn’t go there honestly. Probably my only real complaint about the movie.

MCU Hulk is pretty much a meme now. He needed a nerf from comics to movies but good lord he’s basically MCU Worf.

Capt. Marvel has no personality. Didn’t see her movie so maybe she is more developed there but right now she just seems flat and OP. Seems like a case of Superman syndrome.

Captain America wielding Mjolnir. Literally the one thing i wanted to see in these movies and they delivered 11/10. I never suspected even when Thor got his hammer back.

Super lol at Thanos “i don’t even know you” to Scarlet Witch and him grabbing the power stone to knock Marvel 20 minutes into the literal irl future. Movie did a great job of portraying a past Thanos without the character development of the one we see in IW.

Really curious to see where the MCU goes next. Hard to top a villian who snaps away half of all life in the universe.

Re Captain Marvel: She’s not. You even mentioned her getting fucking rocket punched by Thanos. Like, she’s probably the strongest character in the current MCU, sure. However they’ve already said Phase 4 is going to deal with the power cosmic, deep space and everything in between. You’re going to find out real quick how easily she can be out matched.

Rewatched Infinity War today. One of the things I noticed is that the animators took care to show the stones Thanos was using during all of the battles For example, when he killed off Strange’s projections on Titan he used the Soul and Power stone. When he folded space to bring Strange to him it was the Space and Reality stones. He had all four stones (space, power, reality, and soul) lit up when he was about to take out Stark. He was about to wipe him from existence.

Drax got retconned to fuckin hell. Like that still makes 0 sense they got rid of him being once human and a Thanos hunting machine

Captain Marvel

I mean i know there are plenty of characters in the grand scheme of things that she probably can’t hold a candle to. I’m more referring to how her power level works in a team setting with the rest of the current Avengers. Any villian that’s a challenge for her would rofl stomp the rest of the team no? I feel like her presence requires you to dial up the power of the villian or put her off screen for most of the movie like in Endgame.

Like i said i didn’t see her movie (and never will if her performance in Endgame was an indication of anything), so maybe this is just unfamiliarity on my part.

Summary

Awfully ignorant of you to assume so much and write off a character when you haven’t seen their origin film and when they only had maybe 5, 10 minutes of screen time at the most in end game.

Just seems silly. There have always been incredibly strong team members in the avengers that over shadow others. I mean, Thor is literally a god and he still struggles against a lot of the avengers bigger foes.
