Not even remotely true. Tony isn’t the smartest person in the marvel universe. Hasn’t been for a while. Here’s mere the bottom of the top 10 smartest in the marvel universe these days. Amadeus Cho, the current Hulk, now known as Brawn was believed to be the smartest person in the marvel universe until the introduction of Lunella Lafayette aka Moon Girl. She surpasses people like Cho, Reed Richards, Doom, Banner, Stark and T’Challa
Cho was never on top of the food chain. In his earliest appearances he was usually named the 6th smartest person in the world.
Moon Girl is not one I put a lot of stock on personally. She got that for solving a puzzle box created by Banner. If nothing else, that gives her the potential of being the smartest not actually being the smartest.

I’m saying she doesn’t have the accolades to make the claim believable. I’m going to need her to do more than a puzzle test for me to buy into it. I don’t see her outdoing Reed and Doom in anything.

The power of the star was only needed to melt the metals for the gauntlet. But let’s see, the Avengers had the original gauntlet for 5 years. They could have cracked it and reverse engineer it. It wouldn’t even surprise me parts/material of the original gauntlet were used to create the Iron Gauntlet.
