If it HAS to be a woman id rather its Okoye who actually knows how to fight already rather than lulz sister of tchalla. Was Shuri even in the final showdown in Endgame?

Shuri canonically makes more sense

She was there, can’t remember if she did anything besides one line and pose before the portal but she was there.

Honestly, Blank Panther’s MCU fate isn’t even something I’m concerned with right now.

i mean they already have a blue print with exact stakes in the comics

Honestly with wakanda tech killmonger could be in stasis like bucky

She is not a warrior and not a politician. It would take a lot of time to reach that part, and it’d feel like a complete detour for the series and the themes they wanted to explore.
We were about to start Point 2 and now we’re suddenly back at point -1? Don’t think so, It would feel like a “sequel saga” or a spinoff.

Why didn’t make Bucky Captain America? Simply because he wasn’t ready. What if (hope not) Cumberbatch died? Would they recast Stephen Strange? Or create a spinoff movie focused on her nurse girlfriend becoming a wizard?
I think the choice is quite obvious.
These phase 3 characters are still being built up as a brand, you can’t drop them like that. Especially when Feige wants the MCU to run for several decades.

I would rather pick Nakia. She was a woman liberator and some sort of “Queen” in the making?
Okoye has always been a guard, a soldier, someone who follows orders.

Except for the fact that Shuri is (well… she was; now they turned her into MCU Shuri without no explanation) a completely different in the comics, with completely different personality and profile.
It wouldn’t feel organic, I think. It’d be waaay too premature for them to launch her for the role. And I don’t even feel like the actress is ready for the lead.

Friendly reminder that SOMEONE here is arguing for the sake of arguing. That someone acting like Shuri can’t work at all. MCU doesn’t have to adhere directly to what comics have done already and can take liberties when needed be.

The bigger issue right now to not even bother with this conversation. Let things be for now, let’s remember Chadwick as not just the character but as a genuinely good person. I’m in no rush to see how we can make the story work going forward.

The marketing target audience, bro.
Disney is wise. They won’t give these kids:

a sudden change for the sake of change and suddenly they can only buy lady costumes.

The girls already had Shuri.

So much long winded bullshit that doesn’t really say anything except for “nu-uh.” In an exceedingly ignorant way.

You consistently post some of the worse takes when it comes to comics and comic book movies. Just fucking stop.

I think the thing is quite simply.

Retiring the T’Challa character:

  • Narratively, doesn’t make sense.
  • Marketing-wise, doesn’t make sense.
  • Branding-wise, doesn’t make sense.

The only reason to do it would be because… the audience was attached to the actor?

Whatever, I’m sure Feige had great plans for T’Challa, and Disney had great plans for marketing T’Challa and consolidate him as a symbol.

The show must go on.

The MCU is supposed to run for three decades or so. You can’t retire a central character only because the actor of its early 4 years died.

The project is much much bigger than just an actor.

T’Challa will be recasted and that’s all.

Bro, take your shit takes and shut the fuck up. My man’s body isn’t even cold yet.
