God I love Logan. I know I’m just repeating myself at this point but, fuck.
The original X trilogy was terrible but I still love it to death. I think Days of Future Past and Logan are the best movies overall tho.
I recently re watched DFP with my Dad again and despite some of its flaws I still think it’s such an excellent X Men movie. The characterizations are so on point, start to finish. Fassbender and McAvoy’s back and forth still remains the most compelling and interesting aspect of the newer movies. In my opinion at least. There are some really surprising moments of drama littered throughout what is also an insanely fun super hero movie.
Not only the series focused on the friendship/rivalry of Xavier/Magnus but they had great scenes. Iirc only X2 has similar interactions in the first trilogy. The visit to Jean Grey on X3 wasnt good and on X1 they only have a small exchange. Meanwhile you get DoFP plane scene, Cuba island scene from FC, submarine scene from FC (move the coin), end of DoFP speech, Dark Phoenix face off, etc.
Imo they make their relationship more idiosyncratic and relatable, especially after all that introspection into Magnetos life.
Rather just buy it on iTunes when it becomes available. But if this proves profitable for Disney I can see them attaching future releases exclusively to the platform
I think my local one was going to open up at the beginning of July? But I don’t know if they actually did. I deleted my fandango app back in February and haven’t put it back on any of my devices
