[details=Spoiler]We learn what happens to Elektra; after being revived by the Hand, months later the Skrulls attack her, but she doesn’t go down without a fight!
I heard there were inconsistencies with stuff that were stated about Elektra in previous series linked to SI, but I don’t give a fuck about them.
Good issue overall. Next month more Hank Pym, ugh[/details]
Actually next issue
Mighty Avengers 17
Spoiler
will be dealing with Captain Marvel and also Marvel Boys stance on the Secret Invasion. Hopefully Marvel Boy can bring in some Kree soldiers for backup.
[details=Spoiler] If they follow what happened in Annihilation: Conquest, which isn’t guarenteed, don’t bet on the Kree. They got bruised up in the first Annihilation series and Conquest left them broken down as fuck.
Marvel Boy will probably handle his shit solo cause aside from being from another dimension, the Kree would be useless at this point.
Although wouldn’t it be wild if the current Marvel Boy turned out to be the “He” that the Skrulls are referring to? [/details]
Anyone picked up Universal War One? I am wondering if I should make the plunge what with it being $6.
[details=Spoiler] Yeah after reading that Who Do You Trust? One shot, Marvel Boy has too much hate for the skrulls for that scenario to happen.
In terms of broken down, how bad is it for the Kree because i didn’t read Conquest save for the last issue that i read in the comic shop?[/details]
Ah, so the Who Do You Trust? one shot was actually informative, here I just skipped it because after feeling screwed picking up manifest destiny.
Conquest and the Kree
[details=Spoiler] To illustrate how fucked the Kree were last time, I’ll run down the entire Conquest event from the Kree prespective.
Initially while they were destroyed like the majority of the Skrull empire, Annihilation left the Kree empire banged up, the capital was attacked but not over run. But the Supreme Intelligence was gone and Ronan was the new leader. It wasn’t not all that bad of position.
Come Conquest, their first attempt to build a stronger security system with help of Space Knights end with the Phalanx infecting their entire weapons network and closing the empire off from outside forces while they began to conquered the Kree empire. Most of the empire was infected with Phalanx and before the end a recently cured Ronan tried a desperate gamble with the last uninfected Kree sentries (Kree sentinial robots) planning on destroying the entire Kree home world to end the Phalanx threat. Said gamble failed, the sentries got infected, but the home world was spared and the Phalanx were defeated by other methods. But considering the chaos and destruction spread throughout Conquest, it doesn’t seem like the Kree will play a major part here outside of Marvel Boy. But then again I would have said that the Skrulls wouldn’t be able to play as large a part in this event over a year ago as well so you never know. [/details]
[details=Spoiler] Marvel Boy has control of The Cube facility and all the inmates are calm and collected to the point where they are having casual conversations with the guards. Once the skrull virus hits, all hell breaks loose and the prisoners and guards are attacking each other. Marvel Boy is trying to calm everything down and when he goes to his office, he sees a Skrull killing off the guards. Marvel Boy proceeds to fight the skrull and before he blows the skrulls head off, the skrulls says that it is over, the Earth is already done for. After the fight, Marvel Boy thinks to himself that even though he has no love for the people of Earth, he definitely would rather see humans rule than skrulls.
So once Mighty Avengers 17 hits, we’ll get more on what Marvel Boy may do to help the repel the invasion.[/details]
Now that I am part of the SRK community (about fucking time, too; don’t know what I was waiting for) I just wanted to drop in and subscribe to this thread. I am a freshly-revived Marvel fan who has missed approximately five years worth of canon. For the longest time I couldn’t get over my shame of Marvel for ruining Spider-Man during the Clone Saga and then going on to ruining the rest of the cast with Onslaught. However, a number of titles are beginning to catch my interest again and I thought that this would be one of the best places to get my fix and talk about this shit.
And Thanos? Worshiping Chaos? Man, what is with television nowadays? Can’t they get anything right? Honestly. The man’s goal is total stellar genocide. >___<
Man everyone turning into apes in the MU is such a stupid idea. For DC it works because they have all of those high profile gorilla characters. But for Marvel, I dunno. Just seems dumb.
Didn’t know they were also planning on a HvT. …but in all seriousness both these vs. films should be in one collection; Hulk vs. the Marvel Universe!
EDIT: OK seriously the Hulk needs to do less roaring and more talking…AND WHY THE HELL IS THOR GETTING GGPOed SO EASILY BY HULK?!
