Let’s just hope they don’t rewrite all the good parts out.:shake:
Sano has joined the Sith lords and has crossed over to the dark side. I must consult this with my fellow Jedi.
Finished Thor: Ages of Thunder. Man, this one-shot was epic! I may have to start reading Thor now. :amazed:
Zeph used to imagine my voice being like Darth Vader’s, I guess everything comes full circle. PS I’m going to kick Mitsurugi’s ass in the PS3 version of Soul Calibur IV, bet it! :badboy:
In other news, it was nice seeing J2 in American Dream 2 this week. I have every single issue of J2 and he was my favorite character of the M2 line at the time. Hell yeah, the son of Juggernaut that’s what I’m talkin’ about!
After my somewhat lengthy departure, I got some comic stories. And guess what? I’m reading them on a weekly basis now!
Nothing remotely interests me at DC right now, which is odd, because I always say it’s my favorite company. They seem to be in a rut from my point of view, but that’s a personal opinion.
Marvel wise I have an abundance of comics. Here’s a run down of what I am following:
Hulk. (Got the $20 variant cover, love the art on the cover, looks gruesome).
Incredible Hercules. Easily one of the best damn series Marvel is doing, I hope to god other people are reading it to, the mix of action and comedy is golden.
Thor. Next best to me, Thor is like Conan with fucking super powers, and the twists and myth heavy stories are a really nice touch. The artwork is just amazing, Probably my favorite artist now.
Captain America. THE BEST! Despite me wanting this arc over with, because I want to see Bucky Cap become his own man and fight his own type of villains, I don’t think I ever pick another comic up first before this. Bru is a master, 'nuff said.
Secret Invasion. I’m still confused, but the second issue was enjoyable enough that I plan to get the next and see what’s up.
Comics I tried but sucked ass:
Cable. Got it for free, and the first issue was terrible. I doubt it has improved anyways, so no real miss for me.
Ultimates 3. I could do a whole damn essay on how this comic is fucked up. Why was everyone mad at the beginning? Why is Cap all old mannish? Who the fuck decides to target them for no reason? Why is the Black Panther angle so obvious? And why on earth are they using the 616 costumes?!
Anywho that’s been my comic life for two months or so. God Squad rules, FYI.
Put some sort of mind altering medication in the city’s water system I s’ppose.
Also, I helped a friend and her mom clean out the stuff left behind in a house from a family that was evicted. They took what they wanted, and the stuff left behind was “for grabs”. Part of that stuff was a whole bunch of Captain America comic books from the 80’s… there’s like 50 of them (and a couple of daredevil too). I’m really into comic books and superheroes, and I want to read them… but do you guys think that will mess them up? If they’re valuable or something? I can be extra careful, but I still don’t know if I should.
I don’t think any of the comics I got are one-after-the-other though. They’re just random, so a lot of the stuff probably wouldn’t make sense anyway.
Comics from the 80s aren’t worth jack squat nowadays. Go ahead and read them. It won’t do anything to bring the value up or down.
Besides, if the issues you have contain massive misprints, pages that flap out, pages falling out and color mistakes specific to that issue, there’s no way you can find out without opening them up and looking at them. You can chalk it up to checking out the merchandise before selling it if you want. Though you probably won’t get a lot of money anyway.
Oh, okay, thank you. I should check those… I was planning on selling them soon anyways, but maybe I should wait. =]
So no one liked Gen next?
Dark Heroes?
I noticed that the Waldenbooks Store here has some versions of Marvel’s comics that seems dark and mysterious. Kinda like how Mace Wandu (Star Wars) is as close to the dark side of the force as one can get without actually being on the dark side.
The actual titles escape me, but I don’t really like them. The heroes are way overpowered and seem too “buffed up” for my liking. Plus they seem to have this attitude that they need to get checked.
Has anyone read and enjoyed these versions of the heroes? Or am I just misinterpreting them?
What’s the craic with Cable? Has he been depowered because he hasn’t done anything in the first three issues?
ANyone read the latest Initiative? Butterball was great.
taskmaster is full of win in the initiative
So. I heard Wolverine Origins suck hard. And Way is the current writer of that book And Way is supposed to be doing the new Deadpool series in August. Am I the only one who is worried? :shake:
Wolverine: Origins sucked…but the current Deadpool story in it (The Deep End) has been pretty good.
Wow…NYX is coming back.
Was I the only one that really enjoyed that series?
what really?!?
Man i still remember picking it up randomly and being like “woah this owns” and the random 1st apperance of X23 was cool too. When is this jumping off again?
eidt: also I just got through reading New warriors 1-5 and thunderbolts where osborn steps in and man i gotta say that book sucked after zemo got peaced out and is on a whole other level after osborn stepped in. Great read now…
I always felt the best part of the Thunderbolts was Bullseye getting peaced out by American Eagle.
So is NYX going to be like separate from alot of the X-books or are they going to have random guest appearances from various xmen characters.
I am not worried. Wade’s greatness will overshadow way’s suckiness.
