Marvel Comics Thread

Yeah Ms. Marvel’s not a Skrull, doubt it. A few issues back the Kree took manual control of her body and she turned blue, she’s more Kree then we have been lead to believe. Kree / Skrull don’t mix… Least not most of the time…

Tell that to Hulkling. Interspecies sex is one thing…inter-interspecies gay sex is another thing.

Either way, I want an Aaron Stack solo series.

i just recently read astonishing x-men 1-24 as well and Whedon totally delivers.
I agree with the issue about Colossus as well , hes trapped inside a basement and tortured and experimented on for how many years. and he’s right back in action.
dating Kitty Pryde could do wonders for anyone but…there should be some trauma at least …lol

Yeah Hulkling, that’s what I meant by most of the time lol!

They have kind of addressed it in other books. It was touched on briefly in the Colossus: Bloodlines mini and I think he had a small story in X-Men Unlimited about dealing with his emotional problems through painting.

Hmm which Vol. of X-Men Unlimited do you recommend, 1 or 2? I have a number of issues of the X-Men series that started in 1991, does Vol. 1 of Unlimited cover some aspects that took place during that series?

Captain America’s daughter lives on in MC2. Happy V-Day! :lovin:

Can’t wait for Nick Fury to return during Secret Invasion. Hopefully he’ll take control of SHIELD and expose all these undercover agents. I swear there’s too many Hydra agents, Purifier agents, and Skrulls chillin on the hellicarrier.

Maybe Johnny Blaze is a Skrull. I’d take pointy-eared Ghost Rider over angelic Ghost Rider any day. ;/

I really want to read some Nick Fury books. Only one I read so far was his Marvel MAX series (Fury).
What are some other good series for Nick Fury?

The vintage Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. TPB by Steranko still holds up.

you thought that Fury Max was good?

Personally, I thought that was one of the worst comics I’ve ever read.

Guess it was just my cup of tea, I mostly liked how he inscribed the names of his 3 soldiers at that SHIELD HQ for them to be remembered.

I think anyone who likes Garth Ennis comics, or good comics in general, likes Fury. It’s an entertaining read and I think it’s deeper than it appears to be at first glance. You should give it another chance, lamey. This article may help to increase your appreciation of it. http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2007/10/14/comics-you-should-own-fury/

just now got the newer comics that came out, and not sure if anyone was reading Surfer “in thy name” but i thought it was great, though i was expecting a better ending. that being said still good stuff

I read that and I maintain my “it really sucks” position.

IMO, Ennis is the most inconsistent writer in comics. Ever. You flip through his Punisher Max work and you see it pretty clearly. He had this epically great stuff like Up is Down, Black is White and The Slavers, then he has some good-but-not-great stuff like Widowmaker and Born, then he’s got complete, absolute, unadulterated shit like Barracuda and Kitchen Irish.

I love Ennis when he’s doing something good (no homo) but that’s only about 30% of the time.

Ironman and Power Pack #4 came out, gonna go read all of them today in one go.
I’m surprised Marvel never made a cartoon show of the Pack…
That being said, I think I’ll start collecting the original Vol. 1 PP series.

cable #1 is this week coming right?

Nope.

Waiting for it too
