Marvel Comics Thread

Which is kind of sad, Mr. Negative has SO MUCH potential and was really fun to read about but that dropped off quickly.

don’t you mean Edge of Time?

Right Edge of Time my bad.

Eddie seems to be stuck in editorial mandated hell like She Hulk currently is despite them possessing some popularity.

I found it weird they released a good Spider-Man game, followed by a rushed and fucking terrible sequel from the same team to coincide with a rushed and shitty X-Men game. I don’t even know why they were rushed, there was nothing to make it a pressing concern at the time.

If they wanted to go with Eddie going nuts sticking with Anti-Venom would have been more interesting seeing how having the ability to heal as well as harm would be more interesting. Was kind of hoping he would get on Thunderbolts or something, could have been interesting.

WAs Edge of Time that bad? The concept was pretty cool.

ACTI may not get the contract renewal after MUA2 and are trying to make as much money as possible. You know Disney does wonderful things with there influence. Why both XMD and EoT was rushed.

I think Edge of Time is alright but Shattered Dimensions is the better game.

Edge of Time suffers because it’s very short and the entire game takes place in one building. Kind of low on bosses too.

Credit goes to PAD for writing the game because there’s a surprise twist in the story that’s pretty cool.

Both games have annoying bugs and glitches, Beenox has to work on that.

The next Spidey game from Beenox will be based on the movie so I’ll pass on it because I never play movie based games. I just hope they work those bugs out when they make something more comic fan friendly for the following Spidey game. If they still have the license I suppose.

Marvel and DC, the epic battle to see who can offend the Homosexual community the fastest. Will it be Marvel’s hotshot wedding of Northstar and Kyle that they personally said was progressive and “So Marvel” to be with the times?

Or DC announcing they will randomly make one of their major heroes Gay, somehow thinking this is how it works? (Money is on Wonder Woman or John Stewart).

I can’t decide just yet.

Activision lost the license so if you wanted to play the dlc for mua2 your outta luck. I think they rushed edge of tine since they said they were also doing the movie game also. So they had 2 years to develop the game. Hope its fun like Spider-Man 2.

Lol I read the other day that they were going to announce that on The View of all places. I’m sure it’s aired by now. I didn’t mention it here because… It’s The View for crying out loud.

Posting this here:

With regards to the AVX discussions, it’s not a “bad” crossover story. It’s just “meh”, bad is fear itself. So in my view, from what I’ve read it’s meh, though I’m sorta hard to impress. I’m hoping this series steps its game up though, since this shit was marketed hard.

Though to be fair, jr jr doing the art takes away from the enjoyment, except some what last issue. Because I can’t look at a panel without at least one of my eyes bleeding from his horrendous “art skillz”. I think once copiel takes over it’ll be more enjoyable, this is just my view though. Any story could be less enjoyable with terrible art, think about iron Man: Extremis, or Captain America: Winter Soldier with his art, wouldn’t be as enjoyable now would it?

The problem with AvX is that it’s trying to be Civil War part 2 but unlike Civil War nothing that happens seems to matter.

X character defeats Y character and both live to fight another day, hell they might fight each other again in the same crossover event. Wow can’t wait for Thing vs. Namor part 3!

I love fights as much as the next guy but if the outcomes don’t matter who cares.

In Civil War when a bunch of villains jumped Spidey I felt that. Not really happening here.

Hell has ANYONE been sent to the hospital yet geez! No broken bones? Not even a band-aid! I HAVEN’T EVEN SEEN A BAND-AID!!!

I probably shouldn’t be buying as many issues as I am but eh like I said I like fights (even if they could be longer / better) and most of the artwork is good. Just wish these writers would channel Greg Pak or something.

I have nothing against JRjr even if this is ‘I’m phoning it in’ JRjr and not 'I’m drawing Kick-Ass, KICK-AAAAAASS!!!" JRjr. I’m used that JRjr from Avengers so I guess it doesn’t bug me.

The event’s not even half way done so they still have time to turn things around. Or maybe the writers should be locked in a room so they can watch Raid The Redemption or something for inspiration. GIMME TEH BLOOOD!!!

Man ive been trying to save up reading the avx books, I have em all but haven’t read any…

Sounds like im going to be disappointed. They really hyped this alot…

It’s still a decent read, but you should read it yourself, to determine whether or not you like it. Not someone else, like I said, I actually enjoyed Secret Invasion. Many think it was ass, but I enjoyed the story, and some of the crossovers very much so (Thor Secret Invasion was hella boss).

Man I love SI, it all felt “right” to me.

I was loving SI till the end and the complete and total lack of any impact. Still waiting for some form of comeuppance to happen to the Inhumans after they killed a ton of Skrull Civilians, you’d think something interesting would happen wtih Ronan being married to Crystal and him being friends with Super Skrull.

After reading Secret Invasion again it was okay. Didn’t like the New Avengers tie ins though. Probably gonna read Thor’s tie in again, they have the trade for 2-3 bucks on TFAW’s nick and dent section.

Been rereading Journey Into Mystery again from Thor 615 to now I must say I love this book so much. I even got the board game they put up in 636 as one my desktop wallpapers.

The Jason Aaron/Jefte Palo Black Panther Secret Invasion book was amazing… “See Wakanda and Die” was 3/8 as long as SI, but five times as good. YOU DO THE MATH.

I also enjoyed the Thor SI miniseries as well as Christos Gage’s Thunderbolts and War Machine comics.

I don’t even hate SI itself. I found the TRADE, BABY for three bucks and definitely got my money’s worth out of it. It was fun, action heavy superheroics with the usual Bendis flourishes, so I like it.

I would have been pissed if I’d paid the full 30 bucks for it, but whatever.

Fantastic Four had another great one-and-done story this week.

ASM was bad ass! Good use of Mysterio and Black Widow.
