Then you’re one of my honorary niggas now.
Annihilation is the best event/series Marvel have done in recent times (possibly ever). Their cosmic books have been far and away their best books since the start of Annihilation.
Just read the first issue of the Versus series. Waaaay better than the main story. Just people fighting man that’s what I’m talking about!
I read Iron Man vs. Magneto using their Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 voices in my head and had the narrator from that game read off the ‘AvX Fun Facts’ throughout the story lol! Good times.

AvX is a peice of shit event that shits on so much characterization, not picking up any of it.
Man Secret invasion, while not the worse event was really dissiapointing, the only fallout from it was setup for Dark Reign Only event I’ve liked through and through. Still bugged we ahven’t seen anything happen with super Skrull after that event, you’d think with him being tight with Ronan something would ahve happened after the Inhumans murdered that fleet of Skrull civilians way back.
Just read AVX VS. I am disappoint.
Also read New Avengers and don’t quite understand what this issue means or alludes to.
FF was good fun though. Best read today so far. Got some more on my list for lunchtime.

Spoiler
Erik’s build up was hype, the ending was “meh”. Though I won’t lie, I’m happy Tony won, gives me bragging rights. I won’t even get started on how lack luster Namor v.s Thing was (which didn’t even really end).

[details=Spoiler]
This is the part that disappointed me.
[spoiler=AVX]The Mag’s and Tony match up was cool but anticlimactic. The Namor vs Thing one was WTF IS THIS BULLSHIT to me. Maybe I’m just biased, but that seemed like it should have been something like 9:1 in Namor’s favor.[/details]
Just read Uncanny Xmen. Colossonaught vs Rulk was good stuff.[/details]
Uncanny X-Men
Spoiler
I don’t regularly read this book because I’m not a fan of Greg Land, but is that Colossonaut’s Super Saiyajin 3 transformation? Lol that’s just freaky. Good to see Rulk get his ass beat though.
I see Bendis is tasked with the ‘making up the past’ portion of this crossover in New Avengers. What? Iron Fist and the Phoenix have ALWAYS been related. :looney: Arg Hickman is so much better at this sort of thing. Ohs well.
Redbeard and Blade your posts have been edited with spoiler tags. The comics came out TODAY lol stop making me work. Click ‘edit’ on your posts to see how I did it for future reference. Thanks!
Thanks and sorry. I’m too absent minded lol. :xeye:
lol wut, always been related? Would that need to be spoiler tagged as well since it came out today?
In either case, that’s stupid and I still hate Bendis.
BEEEEEEEEEEEEEENDIIIIIIIIIIS!!! Shakes fist
Also the normal Avengers title is just called The Avengers correct?
My bad, I guess I need to get more familiar with the rules around here…
@Redbeard, are the tie ins worth it, I’m kinda reluctant to invest time in tie ins after Fear Itself…
Lol the comic doesn’t reveal that they’ve always been related, just having fun! They go back a lot of years is all. Just find it funny that out of five writers they gave this chore to Bendis. I just don’t like the way he rewrites Marvel history. Or maybe I’m still mad about him ruining Sentry. I dunno.
Maybe you’re right about it being a spoiler but then I’d have to edit that post, and this post… I just want to get back to reading comics lemme alone.
Avengers and New Avengers are… Kind of the same? Spider-Man and Wolverine are in both books. New has a lot of Luke Cage because he leads that team and that’s kind of it for differences.
IMO the tie ins are better than the main story. So far anyway, Wolverine and the Xmen and Uncanny Xmen have been the best issues of this event.
Anyone liking The Mighty Thor? Seems interesting, and I kind of like Matt Fraction, he helped do Immortal Iron Fist after all.
Also what the hell has Blade been up to?
Other Marvel reads this week for me.
Wolverine - Lots and LOTS of blood! Even intestines! Now THAT is how you start writing Wolverine WORD!
Astonishing X-Men - Still not as good as Marjorie Liu’s X-23 but interesting. I’m still hanging in there for now.
Battle Scars 6
Spoiler
Well they did it. White Nick Fury’s retired, his African American son lost an eye and his hair. Also it turns out his birth name is Nick Fury. So Sam Jack Fury is in 616. Um… Okay… Lol at least Crimson Viper’s MvC3 / UMvC3 ending makes sense now. :looney:

CHIGGA WHAT
[details=Spoiler]Well uh…damn, it’s one of those situations where I love old Nick and despite Ultimates. Some see it as racist, I just think normal Fury works well and has some compassion whereas Ultimates is just a dick and over-saturated.
Is it just me or does Marvel not want to be a comic company anymore? Lol. [/details]
Also the Ultimates #9 was… AWESOME!
Hickman delivered on both of his books. Had a great action sequence. Zorn was OMG and then what Reed did to DC was WTF!!!
And FF was HILARIOUS. Hickman, what can you not do? Felt like I was reading some Slott ASM.
Man I totally forgot to pick up FF today. Will correct that mistake tomorrow.
COMPLETE.OVER-SATURATION
[details=Spoiler]

Sorry couldn’t help it, and I think they wan to be more than just a comic book company, they want to be a multimedia company, which isn’t a bad thing. To appeal to your fans across all sorts of different media spectrums, and yes Black Fury is a dick. I’m black and I’m saying that lol[/details]
