A couple of weeks old but I just found this and it’s all pretty interesting and kind of funny. JMS, Wacker, Slott and Mark Waid Facebook argument about Spider-Man! Can’t you guys all just play Farmville like everybody else?
"Half an hour Later, still fuming at JMS’ shitty passive agressiveness. I should go walk it off. Maybe a long walk. A long, dull, pointless, boring walk. Across America.
That I won’t Finish."
Read it all a few weeks ago but that still cracks me up. Did anyone actually read Superman Grounded?
I enjoyed Grounded. It even held up after JMS left, unlike Wonder Woman which completely fell apart. Not heavy on action but a feel good story. A nice going away present for the old continuity and a strong hint that Lois and Clark will find their way to each other again, even during the reboot.
Recommended especially if you don’t like what DC is doing right now with Superman like myself.
On topic: Really hoping there is a Spider-Man vs. Iceman battle during next year’s crossover. Iceman has new powers and Spidey now has Spider Kung Fu and lots of new tech. No matter who wins the winner will be people like me that grew up watching Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.
I’m sure they’ll have some role but as far as picking a side and getting down with the whole ‘vs.’ thing, except for Thing who is also an Avenger probably not. What Hickman is bringing to the table is that he is one of the few writers who has no real allegiance to the X-Men or the Avengers, so in theory anyone can kick anyone’s ass in his books. In theory, Hickman loves long conversations. Well the last few issues of S.H.I.E.L.D. say otherwise. He can do kick ass fight scenes when he wants to.
Best Marvel book for me this week was Avengers The Children’s Crusade. Heinberg please stop writing for movies and TV shows and take over the Avengers books after Bendis leaves. Pretty please?
I am thinking Hickman will be handling the more cosmic aspects of the Phoenix and its current rampages. Maybe even laying the ground work for the new Nova.
The latest FF issue was pretty neat and the last line by Doom is fantastic.
Caught up with Bru’s Captain America book and these issues were great as usual.
Marvel’s trying to prove that Mutants aren’t humans so they can sell toys in other countries with lower taxes. Mutants aren’t humans? That’s racist yos!
