Dakenās comic has gotten canceled too. Alex Alonso discusses some of the recent cancellations -
Alonso: Itās always disappointing when a title comes to an end. Iāll bet everyone reading this column still mourns the death of a title or two they loved ā and wonder why the book didnāt stick. And I guarantee you that as frustrated as a fan might be, thereās a writer, artist and an editor who are even more disappointed. Thatās just the way things go sometimes. The market wonāt support it.
That said, Iām proud of X-23ās run. Two successful limited series and an ongoing series aināt bad. Ditto for Daken [who is also ending his series.] From a supporting role in "Wolverine: Originsā to the lead of ongoing series that included him slicing Frank Castle to bits ā enter Franken-Castle. Both were characters that gained traction in a market that, well, doesnāt really have a great track record of supporting new stuff. And both characters anchored legitimate monthly titles. We donāt do R&D at Marvel. Weāll stick by a title for a while ā like we did with āSpider-Girlā ā but there comes a point where that title has to earn, usually sooner than later.

I was watching A Different World reminded me of the X-men.I remember reading somewhere that Professor Xavier and Magneto were inspired by Martin Luther King Jr. and pre-Mecca Malcom X. Did anyone else hear of this?
On record / officially thatās not true. Stan Lee attributed their creation to how young people felt different and alienated from adults. Thatās what Mutants originally represented.
Off the record and in truth itās very likely. Although the X-Men were written extremely different in the '60s and Magneto wasnāt a concentration camp survivor originally either. Mutants not being accepted was kind of a back drop to a team that was more or less the Fantastic Four plus an extra member.
Iād say Proffesor Xās comparison to MLK came many years later. I donāt think Malcolm X and Magneto were ever ever ever anything alike. Thatās a comparison made by people who didnāt understand Malcolm X at all. Skip his movie, read his book and also read Malcom and Martin in America. Itās a very good movie, but no substitute for reading his autobiography.
This comic is such a terrible pile of shit it angers me. ā¦ Starbrand and Atari Force and maybe even Power Pack are better than this. Itās like somebody looked at a cover of Black Panther, read a couple Daredevils and 100 Bullets, and just decided to crap out some scripts that might vaguely be brandable āBlack Pantherā.
Itās painfully bad and Iāll be happy to see it go away and have them bring back NextWave instead. 
Speaking of Power Pack, really wish there was a new mini for them with Gurihiruās art =/
for that matter, a Power Pack animated series with Gurihuri would be wicked if done right.
