Yeah it’s in reruns. We might have to wait until Fall for new eps but not sure. Cartoons on cable have crazy schedules sometimes.
Ah, loved the art in Civil War, also loved Cap in Civil War cause he was a badass. Does this mean no more secret Avengers? I also liked Bucky-Cap’s costume better than Steve’s. Kinda how I liked Ben Reily’s costume better than Peter’s.
Bru’s leaving Secret Avengers so for all intents and purposes yes it’s ending. LOL well Nick Spencer will take over after Bru. Not really familiar with his work myself.
Fear Itself #1 was really good. I liked how it spun out of real world news events. It’s also cool that Thor and Cap are helming this crossover during the same year their movies drop. Which is obviously intentional but still a nice touch.
I have to say that Avengers The Children’s Crusade still owned the week for me though. Doom, Magneto, Scarlet Witch and a slew of Avengers in the hands of Heinberg who knows how to balance all of those plates. Amazing artwork too.
Warren Ellis is going to write six issues of Secret Avengers. It sounds like it’ll be great - six straight done-in-one stories about various team missions. Reminds me of what Ellis did on Global Frequency. It’s gonna make one sexy TRADE, BABY.
Whats everyone’s view on UNXM 534.1? I loved how they portrayed Magneto. I’m really enjoying how they handle him currently. I wonder how will they turn him against the X-Men.
I found it to be incredibly boring personally but I did like Magneto’s portrayal. Uncanny’s been boring to me for years now and looks like the hand off from Fraction to Gillen isn’t changing things.
I honestly don’t know why Fraction never wrote an X-Men story even half as entertaining as Fear Itself #1. I think he’s just wrong for X-Men. Gillen’s been under him too long and it’s coming off as same old same old. But hey maybe he’ll find his own voice down the line.
Most of the time Fraction is saddled with Greg Land, which doesn’t help. Still even when he has better artists like Dodson his X stories are still incredibly dull.
I find pretty much everything Carey writes that’s X related a bazillion times more entertaining than Uncanny over the last few years. Why they never put Carey on Uncanny is beyond me.
Thank goodness Carey is writing the next X-Men video game and not Fraction. I just hope the actual game doesn’t suck…
I recently got The Marvel Encyclopedia 2009 version for 35 bucks. This is definitely a great resource book and will definitely help when I get more Marvel Comics etc.
I finished watching season 1 of The Spectacular Spider Man on Netflix. I really enjoyed, I’ll have to get the whole season. Can season 2 be found in one set?
Season 2 is currently not on DVD and it’s currently unknown if and when that will happen. The show was a casualty of the Disney / Marvel merger so a DVD release of season 2 is at a very akward place right now.
Video with JQ. Within it he confirms that they are holding off the rest of season 1 of the Avengers cartoon until after the Thor movie comes out. There’s 26 episodes for season 1 in total and there will be a second season.
