Marvel Comics Thread

I watched both episodes last night and that’s what it basically did. Episode 2 was the shit though. Wasp, Thor, Hulk, and Graviton. Y’all should’ve watched it.

Yeah, Graviton pretty much showed why he is god-tier within comic rankings, hell he leveled half of New York and picked up Staten Island >_>

My only problem is the series, like most things Marvel has done since '05 not related to comics, is focus the series once more on Iron Man and Hulk. Seriously since those two movies, they have been the face of Marvel Media and stuff. Hulk doesn’t bug me so much, but to much Iron Man in my superhero diet leads to mild migraines…the jerk.

Any predictions when Cap will pop up? Or when Hawkeye will join the team? Also fuck Black Widow.

This is going to be like a civil war storyline, right? The whole Messiah arc is actually the best X-men storyline IMO, the after math look like the x-men will actually enter a civil war, seeing that Cyclops’ form of leadership pissed guys such as Beast and Storm off, then wolverine actually disobeying cyclops by keeping the x-force (i like the rooster of the x-force, right now).

My opinion is that they should brush up rogue. Rogue is still the best female x-men character IMO, however i want her ability sets to increase. I thought she would permanently be capable in transforming into the colossus/angel/wolvie/psylocke brid. Atleast give her back Ms Marvel’s powers, or let her permanently drain Moonstone or something.

Check the first few paragraphs below to sum up everything we know about Age of X. Which is not a lot. The description for Age of X Alpha #1 does sound like Marvel’s Civil War so you might be right about that.

For crying out loud when will Bendis realize most dont give a rats ass about spiderwoman

:woot::woot:

Can’t wait:wgrin:

Thanks for the link, this sounds very interesting. Just one question though, is Rogue’s new Colossus/Wolvie/X-23/Psylocke/Angel thing permanent, or is it gone after her battle with bastion?

Next, what about Chaos wars? I’ve read around that a X-men character will be resurrected (Nightcrawler?)?

She has control over her powers now meaning they still work the same, she just can control sucking the life out of people when making contact or not. Meaning yeah after a certain amount of time the powers fade…Unless she manages to pull another MS marvel on someone.

And yeah its prob gonna be NC from what I hear…

Fuck if I Know, Bendis thinks what we need best in life is obscure 70’s characters revitalized to be super important and skrulls.

Also not to offend but I’ve been a Rogue hater for a long time, the stupid southern drawl and half-assed power set along with her annoying storyline just bugged me. The best thing about Rogue is Gambit, and even he’s like “Bitch I don’t need you anymore”.

Would you ever eat Wolverine flavored Ice Cream made with Real wolf bits and Authentic Side-burn Shavings??

Wow, i never knew rogue haters existed. Anyway’s, liked the 90’s Rogue the most, the whole redneckish trash talking, uprooting trees and swinging em on random opponents, and suplexing juggernaught made her my favorite female fictional character. I just wish they retained the Ms marvel powers or atleast gave her a new set. Probably off shelfing some character no one cares about (Gargoyle?) and giving the powers to her, or probably Mardarin’s rings or something.

I’m a natural hater Cisco, just remember I hate the character and not the person liking them bro.

@ Fist: Yes I would, because it’d be manly as hell.

You hate Rogue and you like Gambit, seems backwards to me. He’s like the guy who birthed horrendous '90s characters. He has that awful costume with a duster tossed over it AND a terrible accent. As for half-assed power set, he can charge up anything but opts for using cards most of the time. It doesn’t get more gimmicky than that.

To his own, that;s cool…

Anyways, honestly, i have been disappointed with Rogue ever since she was left with just power absorption. I think Marvel should have offshelfed Sunfire and just passed all his shit onto rogue, permanently. Sunfire was never an interesting character, and the only thing cool that actually happened to him was him having is legs sliced off and wanting to die.

Does anyone here know of any black writers or artists?

Billy Graham (dead now, 70s marvel guy), Brian Stelfreeze, Christopher Priest, Dexter Vines, Dwayne McDuffie, Dennis Cowan, Ron Wilson, etc.

edit:
I forgot about Larry Stroman

Some actual information about Age of X from Brevoort and Alonso came out today! Still not a lot of info but it’s something.

***CBR: The other thing to ask about coming out of the con was the tease of the “Age of X” story, which I think a lot of people will automatically connect with the “Age of Apocalypse” story. That was a different kind of gimmick where the entire X-Men line was replaced on the publishing schedule by an alternate reality of titles for a time. Are those associations to that older story and that publishing stunt fair to be in fans minds with whatever “Age of X” is?

Alonso: We certainly don’t mind you making those connections ? “Age of Apocalypse” is a classic series. All I’ll say is, Apocalypse is featured in “Uncanny X-Force” ? in stores now ? so?Hopefully, the recent track record of the X-Office will lend retailers confidence. From “Messiah CompleX” to “Second Coming” to “Curse of the Mutants,” we’ve taken careful stock of our storylines, trumpeting them as events only when we think they ARE events. You can expect some pretty shocking imagery in the next couple of weeks.

CBR: We’ve spoken in the past about how the whole story cycle that kind of started with “Messiah CompleX” had wound its way through to “Second Coming” and how with the discovery of the new mutants from “The Five Lights,” it feels like we’re entering a new phase in the X-Men saga. Is this story the ramp up to a different chapter? Will it take things in a new direction than what we’ve seen in recent years?

Alonso: Yes. The return of Hope and the birth of five new mutants are big building blocks for the future of mutantkind. That’s why we’re launching “Generation Hope” and putting such stock in it. And current leadership for the team ? with Cyclops flanked by Emma, Magneto, Namor and, of course, Logan ? bears more than a passing resemblance to, say, the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. So there’s a lot going on. The X-Men are looking into the future, but they’re scarred by the past. You don’t endure what they have gone through and not be changed by it ? especially if you wear the crown, like Cyclops does. Scott proved to be an extremely good wartime general; the question now is, what type of leader can he be in times of (relative) peace? This is very much a new chapter in X-Men history, with Cyclops at the center of it.

Brevoort: And look for it in a Ruby Quartz bag in a comic store near you! [Laughter]***

Honestly I dont mind the Avengers being the “main book” that determines the MU but seriously half the dayum people on Avengers #221 is in his roster jeez.

Jamal Ingle

Well in X-Men Legacy she can control her power now.
Also Spiderwoman got DAT ASS, and I feel that she’d be appreciated more if another author wrote her.

Wait, i need a bit of enlightening. As well as i know, Deadpool isn’t a mutant, however he’s probably the only known non mutant that’s affiliated with the X-men (Does him being part of the X-force make him an X-man now?)… or is he? I remember awhile back during the house of M, Mr Sinister said deadpool was a mutant because he was capable of eating some drugged up food that only mutants would eat with no problem… can’t remember quite well.
