Marvel Comics Thread

Just incase someone doesn’t know

S.H.I.E.L.D #3 is coming out this week!!!

So i’ve re-read Shield #1 and just notice that Apocalypse was there fighting the Brood

Moon Knight was there too.

Latest Fantastic Four kind of ties into S.H.I.E.L.D. as well.

Yeah with the Night Machine

Okay level with me, what is S.H.I.E.L.D? I mean the comic, I know the organization very well.

Just re-read Ultimates 1/2, Ultimate Galactus and Ultimate FF stuff and I gotta say: Why did they let Loeb take over and what the hell happened to some of the best comics? I’ve been hesitant on picking up the relaunches that I’ve seen on the shelves, for fear that they are just plain ass.

It’s a comic by Johnatan Hickman and Dustin Weaver with the Concept of S.H.I.E.L.D being around from the early days of ancient Egypt and through all of history with important historical figures like Leonardo De Vinci Galileo Isaac Newton and others being agents-like who encountered famous Marvel-threats like the Brood Galactus and Celestials

Sounds…odd, might skip through an issue at the store and see how it is.

Give the first issue a try
It’s probaly Marvel most epic book toghter with the Cosmic titles

Yeah I might, just everytime I get into a kooky, off-beat book it’s cancelled. Most recently Agents of Atlas.

Looks like DeFalco and Frenz will work on a new Thunderstrike series after Spider-Girl wraps.

Blog@Newsarama Blog Archive New York Comic Con Announces New THUNDERSTRIKE Series Before Marvel?

I think Ultimates is still good. USM is good again too, but it was slow for awhile there.

That’s weird. Why would they bring Thunderstrike back? I figure Marvel would want all the spotlight on Thor because of the upcoming movie. Coupled with Gillen doing a great job on Thor right now, this might be a tough sell.

Actually, what if in the Thor movie he’s Eric Masterson instead of Donald Blake?

I actually would enjoy this, I loved Eric’s character as Thor and then Thunderstrike, and a lot of people were pretty disappointed he died. As far as rezzing him, I wouldn’t mind, though apparently he already kinda is back? Weird, but I’d get it.

You know how like, we have all this Deadpool stuff just covering comic walls? Next year I think it’s going to switch to Thor, and in a way that saddens me.

EDIT: Anyone know if Marvel put out a B&W collection of Marvel Team-up (70’s)? Looks like a fun series, and I enjoy one-off team up stories and the like. Figured I could get these and the Thing’s Marvel Two in One or whatever it’s called.

Yup seems they released 3 Essentials collecting stories from the 2nd team-up series that had Spidey as the reccuring character-
Amazon.com: Essential Marvel Team-Up, Vol. 1 (Marvel Essentials) (v. 1) (9780785123736): Roy Thomas, Gerry Conway, Len Wein, Gil Kane, Ross Andru, Jim Mooney: Books

Oh cool, thanks. Might just do the get all three deal and call it a day for comics this week.

What
the
f?
FF #583 teaser
Still, Epting on art, FUCK YEAH!

About time, Sue was holding the men back. Now FF should have 90% more Hos, Kegs, and ass kickings.

Pretty good Marvel week for me with S.H.I.E.L.D., the Spider-Man and Fantastic Four mini (much better than the first issue), Avengers Prime and Shadowland!

Larry Hama’s G.I. Joe was dope too, even though it’s technically not a Marvel comic but whatever since he’s continuing his Marvel comics stuff anyway.

Checked out reviews and spoilers on ASM O.M.I.T. #2 since there’s no way I’ll ever read it and wow… JQ really needs to stop writing Spider-Man… :wasted:

Here’s a review. Which at the very least, isn’t all bad since they did give it a 3 out of 5. First O.M.I.T. issue got a 0 out of 5 on Crawlspace. Spoilers ahead obviously.

Paul Dini joins animated Ultimate Spiderman creative team…will the tables turn?

Seeing how Greg Weisman who worked on Spectacular Spider-Man is working on Young Justice for DC this is pretty funny. Methinks Weisman will kick Dini’s ass, but we’ll see. We win out no matter what with some good superhero cartoons on the way. :clapdos:

Yeah I picked it up yesterday. It wasn’t that bad really, but the review was spot on about the second half of the book…especially the last page. The bad thing is, this will probably be the high point of the arc(next issue WILL be retarded, there’s no way to get around that).

…but a good side effect of this issue is that it got me interested in reading Spider-Girl. Is it really that good of a series?
