Almost everything is going to sound stupid if someone is just explaining it to you as opposed to you reading it for yourself. After a certain amount of time passes things have to change to keep readers interested. X-Men Legacy is one of the best X books in years. Both Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men and Morrison’s New X-Men are great too. You should read the books for yourself before you judge.
Overall the entire line right now is better than it was in most of the '90s honestly.
If someone was reading X-Men in the '80s and someone told them what went on in the '90s they’d probably tell you that was stupid too. Comics really can’t be judged by word of mouth.
agreed 100% I have this discussion alot when i try to inform people on current events…basically people who read the 90’s and early 2000 say “thats dumb” why would such and such…etc etc." trying to explain that the x-men or marvel comics actually have “matured” as a comic’s or go threw changes character development and not just one villain to the next, just doesn’t make sense or sit well with them.
try explaining Danger, professor X, cyclops, emma, and magneto’s relationship to someone who stop reading in 2000 They will hate you.
He was safe so long as he wore his black leather helmet. Um yeah… Before that Professor X could poke around in his head a little bit but it wasn’t until he started messing with the Statue of Liberty that he really needed the protection.

Someone @Marvel movies department actuly knows that the real shit is in outer space
Once I’m done with reading Booster’s current arc I will start Astonishing X-men as I have faith in it’s high recommendations.
But I’m a story nut and based on Experience Mutant Discussions evolve/devolve into “character/continuity panel discussions” quickly (almighty knows I’ve come across a friend who’s only frame of Reference was from the 90’s Blue and Gold Strike Team Days, and It really hurt my brain to answer his questions on what happened then and even got more excruciating when i had to answer questions about B-rated chars like WTF… it’s as painful as being a Wrestling-Mark talking to a casual fan, although cruel they TEND to look like an Idiot in your eyes at least in that respect… of course you don’t tell them that lol) but hey these discussions are more than anything else at Marvel, part of X-men’s appeal, if it’s story/continuity that gets people buzzing therefore more profits then that’s an understandable business decision/marketing, i’ll just say it doesn’t jibe with me since IMO that perspective eliminates more room of story-appreciation process.
Xorn is not Magneto FINE
Emma and Cyke FINE
Astonishing X-men being a horrible run… NOT FINE (thankfully this is not the case lol)
