And supposedly the “Death of Dracula” comic that came out last week might eventually tie into X-Men #1 and the Vampire thing. Personally I have no interest in that, Vampires have been dead as a (Scary) medium for a while now, and I doubt their involvement will change the face of Marveldom in any way.
Norman doesn’t know anymore. The way it works post OMD is you can have all of the evidence in the world pointing to Peter Parker being Spider-Man but only if he unmasks right in front of you that’s the only way you’ll be able to tell. And if he does unmask, all of the old memories you had of knowing he’s Spider-Man come flooding back (Avengers and Fantastic Four).
That’s why Norman couldn’t put together that Peter Parker was Spider-Man during New Ways To Die even though he was in his apartment and everything. At one point Vin who lived with Peter Parker was suspected of being Spider-Man too, but not Peter.
After OMD Peter says that is how the deal works and everything he had set up. It’s still unknown if he has any memory of dealing with Mephisto at all.
Not really crazy about this whole thing since his identity is REALLY safe now, safer than it’s ever been. But meh so long as the books don’t dwell on this aspect too much.
Mary Jane still knows Peter is Spider-Man. Though I think it would be REALLY confusing if they had her up and forget too since they did at the very least live together for a few years… I wish Aunt May still knew too.
Marvel just released a full list of retailers participating in X-Men day on Thursday and neither of the ones in my home town are on there :sad: I wanted my free variant copy of the new X-men
Nearby cities are doing it but I can’t just take time off and go, I have a doctors appointment already and I have vacation coming up next week so I don’t wanna use up my leave. I wonder if I go after work if they will still have copies of the free variant. I hope my shops have more then one cover up for sale.
OMD - A story that ran in Spider-Man books called “One More Day” that Marvel used to get rid of Spider-Man’s marriage. To save Aunt May’s life from a BULLET WOUND because NO ONE else in the Marvel Universe could save her from a BULLET WOUND - - Spider-Man made a deal with Mephisto. The catch was Mephisto didn’t want his soul, he wanted his MARRIAGE. :wonder: So Spider-Man’s marriage has been erased from continuity. :wasted: Um yeah… :looney:
Wait that last part doesn’t make any sense; Spidey revealed his identity to his Avengers team mates, and uh…yeah that last part makes no sense man sorry @_@.
So wait Peter remembers how the identity thing works but not who he made a deal with for it to work?
was it shown in the comics that she knows or are you speculating?
Mind you a simple answer of ‘No’ would’ve been enough, but I guess then I’d have to ask about how Norman revealed himself to Peter as the Goblin waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when :looney:
It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense but that’s how it is. Bendis didn’t elaborate on the details when Spidey re-revealed himself to the Avengers. You may want to back track to when he revealed himself to the Fantastic Four. It’s explained there pretty much the way I said but it might make more sense if you read it for yourself.
We don’t really know how Spider-Man remembers the ‘deal’ but he never mentions Mephisto. That will prolly be explained in OMIT.
Norman knew Spider-Man’s identity before and so did the entire world because he told everybody during Civil War by unmasking himself. The entire world forgot as did Norman. Even people who knew his identity for years like Daredevil wound up forgetting.
Look at this way. Pretend OMD never happened. You knew that somehow / someway his identity was going back to being a secret over time. Essentially that’s what happened. Everyone knew and now they don’t.
You want a short answer? Read OMIT because there’s still a lot of things that haven’t been explained but hey it’s only been about 80 issues of ASM… :looney:
^Thanks I overlooked that question. It was revealed that she knows during Red Headed Stranger that starts in ASM 601. I wouldn’t speculate about something like that. Joint is confusing enough.
OMD was before Dark Reign. He basically makes a deal with Mephisto to save Aunt May’s life and have his identity forgotten by the world (cept for MJ, and I think Black Cat?). In return Peter and MJ’s marriage never happened and can never happen and somewhere in between Harry comes back to life.
I THINK it was in #561 when he fought that flat girl?
Just looked it up on wiki. OMD came out AFTER Dark Reign, as one of Peter’s stipulations was that Mephisto made everybody forget who he is (only from the Dark Reign unmasking though…gets sketchy elsewhere lol).
And as for MJ, I would like to know what deal she made with Mephisto
eep ur right lol, got all that crazyness caught up
Rumours of an MJ + Felicia wedding wtf? Hope thats a joke lol. I guess they’re gonna explain the ‘unknown event’ at the wedding. Also, people speculating about the fact that Peter was all Venom and shit when MJ and him got married.
I still feel all this shit should have just been a glorified “What If” comic instead
lol all about Mephisto doing this to the whole world and no one knows about it or can tell something has happen that effected the whole world. Not Doc strange, brother voodoo, doom, the FF, xmen, No one…
They hinted that MJ knew Peter was Spider-Man for quite some time but they didn’t flat out confirm that she knew until Red Headed Stranger when they showed Peter and MJ talking about him being Spider-Man.
DarkPhoenix I forget what comic this happened in but Spider-Man did try to re-reveal himself to Doctor Strange. Doc said something along the lines of “AWE HELL NAH I CAN TELL YOU DID SOME FUCKED UP COSMIC SHIT TO SEAL YOUR IDENTITY MAN KEEP YOUR IDENTITY TO YOURSELF I DON’T WANNA KNOW!” Obviously I’m exaggerating but that’s pretty much how the conversation went. Doc knows he did something but doesn’t want to know the details. He knows it’s something he wouldn’t approve of to say the least.
Deadpool knows Spidey made a deal with Mephisto thanks to his ‘Comic Awareness.’ :looney: Conversation he had with Spidey taken from Nickieza’s Deadpool #50 and this will be word for word:
DEADPOOL: I call them (Bob, Weasel) a suporting cast Mr. holier-than-though-fugitive-from-the-law, Spider-Man. And I didn’t make a deal with Mephisto to have it either.
SPIDER-MAN: ?
DEADPOOL: Nevermind.
Oh and Black Cat doesn’t know Spider-Man’s identity and doesn’t want to. The entire problem with their relationship is she loves Spider-Man and Spider-Man only, never Peter Parker. That’s always been the case.
