Also,what is this grudge Rhodey has toward the new Ant-Man when he told him in issue #2 that he wasn’t FIT to earn that title?Wonder what’s that about?

Hasn’t started yet. That starts with X-Men #1 that drops this week (comics arrive on Thursday in the US due to the July Fourth Holiday). There’s some info in the FREE X-Men Curse of the Mutants Saga comic that came out last week but not much worth repeating at this point. Ask your LCS for a copy of the free issue if you can.

and from how it’s being advertised, I don’t see how X-Men vs Vampires is gonna be something to change the entire Marvel Universe, like they’re saying

They moved to San Fran, Vampires are messing with them and other Marvel Heroes are going to jump in and help. I don’t think you need to know much more than that and whatever the first issue is going to cover anyway with either the intro page or the story itself.
Lots of stories are said to change the entire Marvel Universe. It’s marketing. Pretty sure if you don’t read X-Men #1 and / or ignore it it’s not going to make too much of a difference. Just make sure you read Avengers books because that’s where everything important happens. Still not sure why Bendis has that much power over the Marvel Universe… :wonder:
The book is just supposed to integrate the rest of the Marvel Universe more with what’s going on in X-Men’s book. Not sure it’s needed since you kind of know already they all exist in the same world anyway.
I’m still going to give the first issue a shot but they have like one issue to rope me in. We’ll see.
I haven’t been really reading X-Men but I feel stories work best when they’re within their own little pocket universe.
I just read through all of Brubaker’s Captain America for the first time and, of course, it’s really god damn good. Love Bucky.
^If memory serves me right, just about every X-Men story post House of M is self contained within the X-Books only.
I don’t like guest appearances of people like Iron Man and the FF in SC because it just complicates things. Like, if they’re aware of this incident, where were they during Necrosha or Messiah Complex or when they were fighting the Dark Avengers? Then you run into the trap of having to make the villain SO smart that the world’s smartest minds are neutralized somehow, but the X-men can beat them.
I view the vampire story to be just another fun throwaway story with vampires in it like every other Marvel comic that has had to deal with them.
im kinda hoping for a mutant vampire epidemic, with half of the remaining mutants becoming vampires or some shit.
