I’m actually giving it a shot. I’ve never known anything about Brother Voodoo but i’m liking that hes the Sorcerer Supreme.
I think it pretty much is straight greed. They know there are enough people out there addicted to Spider-Man and will pay $4 a pop. One of their executive bigwigs gave a presentation to the shareholders a few months back and explained Marvel was experimenting the elasticity of their prices, basically testing the market to see what’s the most they could charge and keep on selling tons of copies.
I’ve also heard that part of the reasoning is that their high-profile and mini-series (and Marvel Universe continuity-centric) titles would be $3.99 so that some of the fringe titles could remain at $2.99. So the higher-selling titles supposedly could help a lower-selling title stay afloat. I have no idea if that’s true. Just something I read somewhere this one time.
Maybe it’s just the economy. TRADES, BABY have been steadily increasing in price as well. It sucks, but there will come a day when $3.99 is the standard price. I don’t think we can fight this. I bet Daredevil hits $3.99 before Diggle’s run is over. I think this should be our next pool: which month/year will a certain ongoing title hit that $3.99 price point?
Me personally, there’s no effing way I’m paying four bucks and change for a single 22-page mainstream comic book that’s published on standard cheap paper with a bunch of advertisements. Nope. Not gonna do it, not when I’ve found stores where I can buy TRADES, BABY for three or four bucks a pop.

I noticed that Thor #603 last week was $3.99 too.
Except I pay like 10% off US cover, so it’s better than you guys. Still…that’s way too much for the stuff that’s coming out right now. The next time Marvel or DC points to TRADES, BABY ruining the market for single issue monthlies…just point to the sticker price of those individual issues.
Every day it makes less and less sense for people to pick up single issues at that price, especially considering the quality of these issues coming out.
Amazing Spider-Man going three a month is a pure cash grab, just like Trinity and 52 were.

X-Babies turned out better than I thought it would. There were several nods to Marvel’s old Star Comics line that I read as a kid long ago. Via TV screens in the Mojoverse, you could see Top Dog, Spider-Ham, and ALF (from the 80s TV show) lol how did they pull ALF off ha ha!

There’s a back up of the first appearance of the X-Babies in the comic. Good to see Arthur Adams’ pencils again.

The new issue of Criminal is by the same creative team of Incognito(and is also BETTER), but because it doesn’t involve superheroes its gonna sell less.

Earth X is fucking amazing. On issue #3 right now. Digging the art, and layouts. Sometimes I get lost a bit in the dialogue, but it’s consistent none the less.

He’s still Captain America ‘right now.’ Steve’s soul is still travelling through time. You can’t put a lot of stock in solicitations all of the time. Sometimes they mislead so they don’t spoil things. Steve and Bucky are supposed to fight for the right to be Captain America after Reborn.
