I think that those displeased with Steve’s death may not even have read Brubaker’s Captain America run.
Bru took one of the most important yet stagnant comic book characters and made him incredibly interesting.
I haven’t read Bru’s cap since that issue where Master Man came back, but I’m really disappointed to see that Marvel is bring back Steve already.
It was what? Like 2 years? It feels way shorter then that. I think people still need to realize that Bru brought Bucky back, and it actually made sense and worked. SOmething like that needs to be celebrated, not torn down.
Guess who’s joining T-BOLTS

They’re doing this so they can get the old Avengers back to beat Osborn.
Steve Rogers? Brought back to life
Tony Stark? Won’t remember any of that Civil War bullshit, and will be really remorseful over it.
Thor? We see that the Tony he knew is back and will have some encouragement from Steve Rogers to get the old squad back together.
If they bring Steve back I’d rather he be as a mentor to Bucky Cap versus just outright taking back over as Cap. It’d be much more interesting that way.
I don’t have a problem with Brubaker bringing Steve Rogers back. It’s been his story from the beginning.
If anything, I think it was a mistake for Marvel to make a big deal with the press release last week. Resurrections happen all the time in these stories. This type of thing just makes outsiders who don’t understand the conventions of the superhero genre continue to believe that comics are silly, or for kids. If Marvel was trying to get the mainstream press to notice Captain America, they should have done something outrageous, like announce that Will Smith and/or Jackie Chan was gonna play Cap in the movie. Now Marvel’s just stirred up the pot and created enough hype so that fanboys can come out of the woodwork and start complaining about shit they haven’t even read yet.
The true Brubaker disciple knows that the end result of this story will lead to salvation; do not even question this, lest the very essence of your being endures the limitless torture of soul-searing hellfire in the very depths of perdition for all eternity.
Nobody in the mainstream press cared or noticed when Superman came back to life. (Come to think of it, nobody in the mainstream press noticed when Batman died, either.)
Can you imagine if Marvel had made a press release before Whedon and Cassaday brought back Colossus back in Astonishing X-Men #4? Everybody would have thought that would be a horrible idea. But instead, Marvel made it a complete surprise, and now it’s, like, universally regarded as one of the greatest comic book resurrections ever. I wonder if the Cap announcement last week was just meant to steal some thunder from DC’s Wednesday Comics announcement the way Marvel stole the thunder from Batman’s death with the Obama cover. Hilarious. Someone in Marvel’s PR department is doing his job.
It’s also funny that the Comic is called Reborn. Why not just combine the damn universe already.
But fuck it, Bru made Bucky coming back work, I guess he has the chance to make bringing cap back after only 2 years work. He’s probably frozen in ice again protected by Namor and his Super Soldier blood makes him immortal as long as the American spirit prevails.
Because that is Captain America’s real true power, the people of America.

Too soon.
Bucky didn’t get to shine as the new cap yet, even with that faggoty Alex Ross designed costume.
Just looked through my Captain America Omnibus at issue #25. The gun Sharon uses on Steve is the same damn gun in issue #600.
This story has been thought out a loooong time ago.
Actuly Reborn is Captain America not only that all the characters are moving there
but the main Cap comic is taking a break after #601 (which from the solicts actuly look like some random flashback story) and #602 will only come out after Reborn will end
So basicly it’s the same thing
I meant DC and Marvel.
Reborn, Rebirth, it’s all the same.
Can’t wait for Jean Grey: Rebirth.
Uncle Ben: Reborn FTW
never
that is the cardinal rule of comics: uncle ben can never return to life
I find it funny when a major character dies and people think it’s a permanent deal. Or how they get surprised when they come back to life. Marvel and DC have only been doing this for 40 + years. It’s going to happen in super hero comics, accept it.
The only thing that concerns me is whether the story that brings them back is good - Bucky - or if the story that brings them back is bad - Magneto after Astonishing. The rest just goes with the territory.
Make him a black lantern, no wait…
They did bring an alternate reality version of Uncle Ben back in Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. He got killed off too.
the original may never return!
Give it time man he’ll come back and everyone will think it’s the real deal for a while. And then it will be revealed that he’s a robot that ejects wheatcakes out of his belly. WHEAAAAAATCAAAAAAAAKES!
Do the wheatcakes come in lemon or strawberry flavour?
Wheatcakes comes in flavors? Wow learn something new every day. Alls I know is that they were said to be Peter Parker’s favorite food waaaay back in his first appearance in Amazing Fantasy.
Wouldn’t Uncle Ben coming back be the perfect way to stop Aunt May and JJJ Sr. (JJJ’s dad) from getting married in ASM #600? Either that or Jarviskrull busting in yelling “STOP AUNT MAY YOU’RE PREGNANT WITH MY CHILD!” :looney:
