Marvel Comics Thread

Comic book shops had a FREE Daily Bugle paper from 1939. Lots of funny stuff in there, for free!

And OMG a Marvel Universe book based on Pets came out this week lol NERDGASM! :lovin:

Didn’t care for Roger Stern’s story in Spider-Man Family, and I like Roger Stern’s writing for the most part. I just don’t think he can do the whole flashback / untold stuff the way that DeMatteis has in Spider-Man Family.

the daily bugle was awesome
i love the births on the last inside page

The artist’s rendition of Wolverine had me rolling!

My fav part too
also the mail they got from Mr. sinister:rofl:

Trial of Thor

Another good Thor comic. One issue with a beginning and an end. Art. Story. It had it all.

hahaha way to convoluted for 1939
ahhh its good to know that im not the only one that picks up the free crap

Yeah they talked about Patsy Walker as a kid in one article and the Models article right next to it they talked about her as an adult model! Then they talked about Wasp… in 1939? LOL don’t take it too seriously.

Sorry if this was already discussed but Marvel’s Sept. solicitations include some kickass stuff including a BLACK AND WHITE(?) SHANG CHI ONE-SHOT FEATURING DEADPOOL!

Unfortunately it’s $3.99…

On the other hand, it stars a Chucks-weaing Shang Chi and Deadpool!

On Wednesday I subscribed to X-Men Forever and Uncanny X-Men. I think both subscriptions start next month (or Uncanny X-Men starts this month with the current issue, not sure). I’ve read the first issue of X-Men Forever, and liked it a lot. Have not read any recent Uncanny X-Men, though.

The owner of my comic store just put the free stuff with the other comics i’m buying if i want it or not

Well it looks like the next crossover is going to be based on magic. To add Brother Voodoo is getting his own ongoing “Doctor Voodoo” :nono::wtf:

the best news that came out this weekend is that joe kelly is going to write deadpool in one issue

Marvel bringing back Captain America is basically their way of saying yeah we fucked up.

Umm how? The stories that featured Bucky were pretty good.

They’re saying that they planned it from the moment that Steve died

If you read Captain America #25 and DIDNT think that there was more to the story than Red Skulls plot being Get someone to run up and shoot Cap a bunch of times! then you havent been following Ed Brubakers Captain America too closely.

Yea no way cap was gonna stay dead. though personally Id rather see him stay dead for a few more years. I really dig bucky and never really did care for cap. I dug Brus run cause his writting is just sick, cap the character doesnt interest me much.

I really like Bucky as Cap also, but bringing Steve back is a little too soon.

This is why you just can’t take comics seriously. Building up one of the best storylines ever only to tear it down. For shame Marvel. For shame.
