I remember, man. That was one of the better Marvel storylines from the '80s. Another thing I liked about that story is how Hercules is all like, “Bah, I am not taking orders from the Wasp, that blasted wench. I am a MAN!” and then gets his ass kicked by the Masters. The whole time Hercules complains how the Wasp is in charge and his thought balloons constantly reiterat how much of a male chauvinist pig he is. I gained a lot of respect for his character after reading that story.
Damn, Sano. Such unbridled hatred. That’s just cold. Why’d you have to bring up the Beatles thing again? You’re not setting a good example as moderator with these uncalled-for insults. I would expect this behavior from myself, or Clinty, but not from the man who wields the banhammer most fearsomely.
Why do the covers for Marvel Comics suck so badly. It seems like 99.9% of the covers consist of one or a group of characters doing absolutely nothing. Secret Invasion is a perfect example. The covers were horrible. There must be some reason for it. I haven’t seen such lack of imagination with the other comic companies? Why did Marvel get lazy all of a sudden? I have my own theories but that’s a story for another day.
I never mentioned DC comics once in the post that you quoted sir. I like how you dodged my question. Nice try but no cigar. Answer my question sir. Why is it that the quality of Marvel Comics covers have suffered greatly over the course of this decade?
Or do you actually think the covers are better now then before? If that’s the case then I’d probably rather not hear your response.
I don’t think the quality of the covers has suffered. They may not cater to your liking but then, there are a lot of vertigo, dark horse and, yes, DC covers that dont spark my interest. My only problem with marvel covers isnt their quality, but their relevance to the comic itself. Way too many misleading ones in the last couple of years.
Don’t look at just the artwork. Look at the action going on in the comic. I don’t know how anyone long-time comic fan can look at the differing covers and tell me that the style has changed for the better.
Oh my goodness. Ultimate Spider-Man is the worst when it comes to bland covers. If the comic didn’t have the story title and issue number on the cover then it’d be nearly impossible to distinguish the comics apart.
