Should I turn off the layer that has the template buttons on it though? That way I just cut them out when I put it on the plate, right?
Thatās the idea.
hi guys first time modder. i just need some help with this art that i want to print for this stick and i think it looks alright but it needs a little more editing. that is why i need your help. i noticed that the image is not high res that is probably why it looks so grainy and white. if someone knows any ways to fix this thank you.
another thingā¦ does anyone have the icons for the xbox 360 like the actually fightstick icons like : A,B,X,Y,LT,LB,RT,RB ?
take them off somebodys art or make them yourself.
ok, its just that i didnt see alot of them on the art from this threadā¦ and if i saw one it was mostly for ps3. Thanks for the reply Drambit
As itās all text, you can just use a font for the Xbox labels. I find Helvetica (Bold Condensed) is a close match to the font Microsoft uses on their pads so thatās what I use.
ok it makes sense, ill check out the font thanks alot Lord British
This is standard procedure when printing out art for sticks.
i dont fully understandā¦ if i take it of when printing how do i know where to cut the holes?
Well the holes on the template are close but can sometimes be off, so by turning them off youāre eliminating the chance of having the guidelines be visible outside of the rim of the button. As far as where you cut, your stick will have a metal plate under the current art, and depending on the stick, a sheet of plexi over the art. Both of these will have the holes for the buttons/joystick(/turbo panel for Madcatz). You would use this to line up and cut out your art.
True but sometimes tiny things like these happen to the best of us lol. My last couple of commissioned jobs for a couple of sponsored players I did, I forgot to turn off the button guides, luckily now templates are 99.9% correct.
I usually keep the outline/border on so I can use one of those guided cutting devices(usually found in schools and paper shops) and chop the edges off, once itās cut, I place the print under the metal plate and use an exacto knife to cut whatever I need out. Getting the outlines made for the laser cutter is too expensive for a couple of graphics. $25 to warm up the machine and additional $10 for each print.
Draw them out the the panel.
oo okay i got it so, take off the guides in-case the template isnāt accurate and cut it when i put it on the stickā¦ so i wont have white if the template isnāt accurate. Thanks guys
Trying to figure out a background for this template:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Those button icons are just what Iām looking forā¦ can anyone let me know where to find them!?
These are all sick! I decided to give it a go last night and design my own template. Iāve never actually put a new design on a stick before, so this should be fun.
My current set up already has yellow (four of them) and dark grey (two of them) buttons, so it should look pretty good I think. Let me know if you have any tips or whatever. Like I said, my first attempt.
I donāt know if Iām in the right place for a request. But here goes I would like for someone to make this PSD template for the SE arcade stick. Hereās the link.
