The reveal of storm has me so hype. I always played her over mags. She will be my point character for sure. She looks like she hasn’t lost a single thing, if anything she looks even better IMO.

her ice storm looks hella buffed it looks like the startup is almost bang shishigami voice INSTANTANEOUS.
She seems discernibly slower, even at a cursory glance. This may be to do with the fact MVC3 is all round slower and therefore, not necessarily a nerf. Other engine tweaks like no whiff meter building and off screen runaway make her a little less insane than her MVC2 self. That said we ain’t seen shit yet and those OTG’s look sweet.

Yeah, the startup is so slow that it makes them look chargeable.
She definitely looks slowed down (which I’m thankful for). That could be relative to this game in contrast to the last one, though, but she’s still clearly no longer among the fastest in the game (X-23, Chun Li, Viper, and maybe even Iron-Man and Wesker all look faster). I’m also super grateful for no more runaway meter building. Glad to see she’s at least been partially balanced via those changes and what looks like low damage/stamina, but I’m still worried she’s gonna be exploitable. Also kinda pissed she somehow gets the privilege of being the only one with non-yellow electricity. >_<

She’s not quite the speed demon she was in MvC2, no, ut she looks MORE than fast and zone-y enough to control space in Marvel 3. Lightning Attack looks really good, her vertical and horizontal Typhoons look good, her air normals all look really good, her air dashes are still plenty fast, and pretty much all her BnBs look to be intact (even if they will be more subject to scaling).
Most importantly, her fundamental utility strengths appear to be both present AND expanded. You can still presumably open up a lot of DHC opportunity off of an air combo into Lightning Storm, and now that you can OTG off of jump fierce (jump E?) her BnBs look to be even more easy and flexible. (Tag somebody in air footsies with that move and OTG into an extended combo with less tech scaling, or just tack a little more extra damage onto an air combo that would otherwise end with that move.)
I cannot wait to see how she synergizes with Dante and Doom. Zoning ahoy!
She only looks slow because of the people playing her. They aren’t starting the match with a low then an instant overhead triangle jump or wave dashing everywhere.
It’s the same reason that right now we haven’t seen anything really special out of mags because of the nature of the movies for him are meant to showcase other players for the most part and don’t have actual highly skilled players just playing to win
