i like to input up then hold uf right afterward
Well thats convenient, I actually came here meaning to ask how to float but it seems someone already answered it for me. Thank you good sirs.
Doesn’t her versatility and mobility make up for it? She can zone and rush efficiently and kill time when needed. But it does seem like she isnt near as popular as Magneto and a lot of other characters on these forums. Does anyone have a stream where I can watch a good storm play? Im lookin to pair her with Ammy. Thanks
If you’re just comparing her to Magneto, I don’t see how she’s more versatile or mobile than Magneto is.
It’s pretty much like Renegade said… Hail Storm is Storm’s only real tool that’s any better than what Magnus can do. It’s a huge tool, but I think Mags is better. I’m still sticking wtih Storm for a little while, at least. :-/
If the CPU is magic guarding then you are doing the combo t slow. if the CPU guards you are not getting the combo off.
Go look up PR rog and smoothviper, sorry can’t think of any other notable storm players of the top of my head, and justin barely uses his storm. Some quick questions though, how are storms assists? I have tried out whirlwind and it doesn’t seem that good unfortunately, but I might just be using it wrong or something. Also is she the only one who can float? Cause I don’t see any other character doing it.
Finally if your comparing storm to magnus, I think storm is more versatile, magneto can’t really zone as well as storm since his air EM disruptor is not very good, plus he can’t runaway as well as storm. Finally she has by far the better lvl 1’s to make up for her lack of base damage, and she is probably the best character in terms of DHC’s and assist punishes(something magnus isn’t as good at imo). If your thinking bout paring her up with ammy, I think thats a good idea since their assists complement each other with ammy’s helping storms rushdown(or runaway is you wanna use that bloom assist) and storms helping ammys zoning, and they DHC very well together. Only thing is don’t get hit, at all cause your team will probably die in a few seconds.
Air Disruptor not good? Huh?
Thanks Jak, for everything.
On the Magneto note EM Disruptor is a good zoning tool but its basically Magnetos only one. I feel Storm also has the advantage in getting in with instant over head.
PS - I couldnt find any MvC videos of PR rog or SmoothViper. Is it on youtube or another video streaming site?
Is it? I mean Im still learning so if you have any proof otherwise ill gladly accept it.
@JayKillaBucketz: YouTube - teamspooky’s Channel this page has quite a few matches from him, his team name was “this game is ass” so just look up any matches with that team, he runs a very good storm.
Oh and check out this page as well, has some good ammy and storm play http://www.youtube.com/user/FrameAdvantageDotCom#p/u/11/Cuk_dEd2dPo
TK Disruptor is one of the best zoning moves in the game, IMO.
It covers the ground, and the immediate air, which shuts down pretty much all attempts to move in quickly, forcing blocking, or slow-ass super jumps to clear the Disruptor. This all happens much more quickly than Storm’s Whirlwind, with much greater effect.
Combine that with an assist that covers ground well (like Doom rocks), and you can do it even higher, to shut down a larger percentage of the field.
Magneto zones really well.
No no I was talking about in regards to unblockables. They will “block” it no matter what.
Magneto doesn’t have this, though. A glitch w/ elemental rage DHC’d into power up/non hitting supers that resets damage scaling.

Freaking ouch.
Storm + 3 tier points.
Works w/ X-23 too.
Well now I know better, with that said ill have to test both out more to come up with a final opinion, but at the moment I honestly do think comparing them is like apples to oranges, disruptor is incredibly fast(fastest in the game I think) but very little durability points(only 2 if im not mistaken), while whirlwind has a lot of durability points but horrid start-up on the farthest reaching version.
Oh well even if it turns out mags is more versatile than ororo, she is still pretty beastly so its all good.
Mags is definitely better. He can do her damage that she does with a combo into super, with an advanced loop ROM combo or close to that damage anyways. And he can kill off one combo with no xfactor something she can’t do. She’s better at opening people up and better at raping assists though.
Like I said in my prior post, there strengths lie in different places so comparing them really isn’t right imo, storm is still the runaway queen as far as Im concerned but magneto is still extremely dangerous once he gets in, mags builds a lot of meter, while storm burns a lot of meter. Plus whether or not magneto is better, doesn’t change the fact that she is good, which is really all that matters methinks.
Im pretty sure this may be common knowledge or already discussed before…
But what are storms answers for super armor? Obviously sent is a prob but I actually have been having a ton of problems with Hulk (when im cornered) or hsien ko.
Run the fuck away or block is how you deal with super armor.
Does hail storm become a one frame hyper if its THCed? Because I was thinking that might be a legit assist killing strategy for shit like doom missles and stuff. If you have 2 meters you just THC and kill that brother.
Don’t know if this has been mentioned but Storm’s Power of the wind hyper blocks projectiles. I was playing against Dante and he used his Million Dollar hyper, while I used the power of Gaia(w/e its called) and it basically put up a wall of ice shielding me against the bullets, while I could still move around.
Pretty much irrelevant but pretty cool to know imo.
Well you can simply hit them out of w/e hyper they are performing with it. I recall seeing someone use it to beat out a hyper sentinel force from full screen.
