Guess it’s just going to come down to practice then, but at least it’s good have it confirmed and to know that I wasn’t imagining things.
Well, I’m pretty sure after the game is officially out, ppl will have enough time to play with her to perfect her combos (air, ground, DHC, etc).
I’m thinking about putting her on my main team after seeing how much dmg her Hailstorm does on assist characters!
it might hurt the versatility of the number of pictures that people choose to put over thier hitboxes, but after a month you stop being so interested in that and crave versatility in gameplay and that requires good, versatile characters. I’d rather have one good character than none, cause then good players can still have mirror matches and the casual players can have the other 30+
No. All it is…is some characters have a different magic series. ABCEABCE doesnt work not because everyones a different size, it doesnt work because thats not Storms magic series.
^thats a ground series to launch to aircombo ending with E, not an aircombo haha
I mentioned this in a couple of other threads, but this is going to be one of the first things I try when I get the game.
With my first character KO’ed, X-factor, 4 bars of hyper, and Dormammu as a teammate do Hail Storm, DHC, Floating Bomb, KFC floating Bomb, DHC Hail Storm. If all of these hypers work like I think they do and you do it fast enough that should be 4 simultaneous hypers all with the benefit of a level 2 X-factor. That’s probably be enough to kill a good % of the cast on block.
Interesting idea - Trish’s scythe hyper stays out on DHC too, FYI.
I thought about this, but I wonder if she’s able to throw it out again seeing as her sword is hitting the opponent.
while you xf floating bomb you could just do like 10 pillars for more chip and maybe get close to another bar, then just chaotic flame them lol
Oh hmm, indeed. I was thinking mostly for your third character though.
Stalking Flare disappears very quickly once it hits - people are overestimating how long it lasts because people keep trying to run away from it. Once it connects, unless it hits under them (leading to the “bounce” hits), it disappears very quickly. Once people get experienced at the game they will be desperate to rush into the ball just to get it off-screen ASAP.
I’ll have to test it out, but I imagine the window being pretty tight. Maybe there’d be time for 1, maybe 2 specials after the first floating bomb, but I imagine that a second hailstorm from Storm would do far more than Dormammu could do solo. I want it to be 1 long super tight blockstring, I don’t know if it’s been confirmed whether or not you can actually XF out of blockstrings or not, but if not I want it to be unbreakable so folks can’t try to negate the chip.
I could try something like:
Hail Storm, DHC, Floating Bomb, KFC Pillar, Pillar xx floating Bomb, DHC Hail Storm.
I believe this has been confirmed.
i’m speculating Storm has x23-like jump loops leading to much better combos than what we’ve seen so far.
c.C>JC, [j.B, j.B, j.C] x 3, c.A_s.C, E…for example
I think I saw one vid where she did a sort of mini launch then caught them again with a juggle and went to her full luanch. Fuck does anyone know the inputs? I know I’m probably not the only one that saw the vid.
She is EASILY the best character in the game IMO in the build I played today at the fight club…It’s not even up for debate at this point either, unless you played as her lol…not that it’s a bad thing tho because she fun to use…and yes I finally found a teammate for ammy ! Looking for a third character tho…This game is the new crack !
I will give a list of reasons of why I believe she is the best in the game…just right now about to catch some zzzzzzz
Managed to have a Jam on the CES build yesterday. Hailstorm is every bit as good as it looks. If she had nothing but hailstorm, she would STILL be worth putting on a Team. I have a lot of MVC2 experience, and she felt quite awkward compared to MVC2 storm. I think I will need about an hour with her in training mode to feel her out. Shes definitely got potential to be amazing, but shes more difficult to pick up than a lot of other characters simply because her normals are really weird. They whiff a lot in air combos etc. But its just a practice thing. People will be raping faces with her (outside of lolstorming) after about one day.
Typhoon is awesome. Quick. Goes through everything. Vertical Typhoon is pretty crap. Basically a giant “Look at me, im not moving, have a free combo” button. And if by some miracle you dont get blown the fuck out of the sky before it comes out, its shit easy for the opponent to avoid. Even with assists backing you up. Lightning attack range is way shorter than MVC2. Like half screen maybe.
Air combo into lightning storm is a waste of time when you can just OTG hailstorm for more damage.
Exchange is a decent one button anti-air like it is in MVC2, but its not as quick.
Her dashes are insane. Shes really quick on her feet. She actually feels faster than MVC2 in that regard. But her normals are kind of slow, and have kind of awkward hitboxes, so they offset this a little. Not much though. But this combination of fast dashes/semi-slow-ish normals mean that its hard to get tri-jump mixups/rushdown going properly at first. Iron man is A LOT easier for this sort of thing if you want to just pick up a character and tri-jump all over people.
I only had 3 hours with the game, and towards the end i had a better feeling for the character, and i honestly think she’ll be amazing, but outside of scoring big damage and chip off of typhoon xx hailstorm, I think very few people are going to be able to do what they hope to do with her on day one. Day two is a different story.
Im trying to focus on her negatives, since no-one really has been. People are all like “OMG HAILSTORM STORM IS GODLIKE”, which is kind of true, but shes got a bit more potential than that, and shes slightly harder to use effectively than she seems.
After some practice though, she will be fucking incredible. Before practice, shes going to be basically a walking super. But yea, HUGE potential. Lots of fun when you start experimenting with weird stuff.
Does anyone know if the lightning attack assist has any invincibility?
Oh please please please lightning attack assist have invincbility, storm would be so crisp with it.
They still have assists with invinciblity after all?
c.a,c.b,c.c,jump forward, b,b,c, c.c, e, jump, whatever air combo.
lots of variations but thats the easiest one.
I would also like to know that, and how effective her other assists are.
