Maj quits and thanks eventhubs for stealing!

In this thread:

Eventhubs extends its welcome to Maj.

Depends on how you’re looking at it.

If the first time visitors continue to comeback then yes everyone wins (monetary wise). Now if Maj is mad for more than just money, example being the principal that they didn’t asked for his permission, then we still have a problem.

End of the day both sides are at a wrong. Just like in a car accident the judge sometimes rule in percentage of fault rather them putting the sole blame on one party.

Word, I was thinking the same thing. Well, about the way this is all going down and money. I dont care what anyone says, in the end this is all about money. The way everything is being handled is really immature. Whats sad is that all of involved are apparently well respected in the community.

@dirsst360

Never doubt the extremes one will take when suffering financially. I don’t quite blame Maj for anything if he’s suffering, cuz things nowadays are desperate overall. Still, it does leave a salty taste in ones mouth.

Here’s a story that sums up Eventhubs… I copied and pasted the good part

World’s Dumbest Editor Incurs The Wrath Of The Internet - Woot

When writer Monica Gaudio discovered that a magazine she’d never heard of, Cooks Source, had reprinted an article from her web site about medieval apple pies without her permission, she wrote to the editor asking for an apology and a $130 donation to the Columbia School of Journalism. Here’s what world-class bonehead idiot Judith Griggs, editor of Cooks Source, had to say in response:

“…honestly Monica, the web is considered ‘public domain’ and you should be happy we just didn’t ‘lift’ your whole article and put someone else’s name on it!.. If you took offence and are unhappy, I am sorry, but you as a professional should know that the article we used written by you was in very bad need of editing, and is much better now than was originally. Now it will work well for your portfolio. For that reason, I have a bit of a difficult time with your requests for monetary gain… We put some time into rewrites, you should compensate me!”

Yes, Griggs actually asked the writer to pay for the privilege of being ripped off! And scolded her for seeking “monetary gain” in the form of a donation to a college! Not to mention, the only reason the original piece seemed “in need of editing” is because it reprinted old English recipes with the original spellings. And all THAT comes on top of her absolute ignorance of copyright law: “the web is considered ‘public domain’”??? This must be what happens when you get drunk on the power of running a freebie giveaway recipe pamphlet.

could u plz read the whole thread before reposting bullshit?

wow all this bickering seems like it could have been solved with maj and or dude that ran eventhubs talked about it. Debating rather it was right or wrong Is pointless.

Um… that article doesn’t represent what’s going on at all. We’re talking about link direction and site visit incentive.

lol hilarious i trolled that dumb editor’s facebook page hard

web is public domain? lmaonade

i’m going to take a minute and play devil’s advocate here… EH has the right to source everything the way they do (which btw, is legally NOT stealing) because all of the content produced is A) not copywritten material, and not Pending-copyright material. and B) is released into the public domain which means legally speaking it’s fair game.

Pretty sure I read a post where Maj said SRK and IPW had both asked and gotten permission to post his videos. Also, I don’t know this but I assume he is more or less friends with people running those sites. Seeing as they are both run by recognizable people from the community. But that’s just speculation on my part.

Cats gonna be on a podcast on ipw to talk about this. Its clear there are people here who would like to see eh fall so there is no point posting stuff here at a rival site

Ugh, the sites aren’t rivals, SOME of the people that go to either one make it seem as such. It aint that big a deal ppls, move right along.

Ok bad choise of words but cats not gonna get a fair hearing here that much is clear buy the posts on this page

Because Maj is a huge part of the community and easily recognized as such, evidenced by the fact he was given a Golden Stick for his achievements, and the other guy is some dude who rolled in and started seeing everyone on the site as dollar signs. Damn straight theres no contest here about who we’re going to support.

Pimp Willy, 2 things

1- Speak for yourself
2- God dammit, why is everything about money with everyone?

  1. Pimp Willy is speaking for pretty much everyone.

  2. Go ask Cat.

I do in a way have to get Eventhubs credit for the way they just organize all the information so that its right there in front of you.

I’ve gotten a few people into fighters, and the first place I tell them visit is Shoryuken.com. Except its a little annoying telling them to check a messageboard post, rather than having the information right there so that they can just spoon feed. SRK is getting much better at organizing though. At least compared to when I joined a few years ago.

pretty sure most of the SRK heads agree with pimp willy, i don’t think anyone here who sides with EH have been around since say before 09.

Ugh. Im not gunna repost my own stuff, so reread my stuff to know my two cents on the whole situation.
